• Satellite P25 video i/o does not.

  My Satellite P25 provided with a card that's where would be a CD player. Its cable TV tuner works very well, but the problem is the other port on the card, which attaches to the (white, red, yellow) RCA cable.   It seems that your laptop is an American model. Anyway, as far as I know TV tuner, you can put on the left side in place of the battery.

  If you have a problem with input/output please check in you re User's Guide how you can make the connection to your TV. There is no detailed description which cable, you can use. I don't know, but you have two ports (which depends on your model) S-video port and video on the port (white, red, yellow). Until you take connection, also check the standard TV.   I have a Satellite P25-S509/PSP20U-ILKF3V and I am looking for instructions on adding ram. The underside of the computer's installed ram 1 GB and am looking to add another GB of Ram. They told me that I have to remove the screen and lift the keyboard to go to the area of expansion on this laptop. This device has a max of 2 GB, can someone help me with this?

  Usually the second RAM slot is placed on the underside that you already wrote and founded, but the first RAM slot should be under the keyboard. This means that you need to remove the keyboard to upgrade the RAM module.

  I have a Toshiba Satellite P25-S507, which more is under warranty and has begun to report S.M.A.R.T. errors.

  SmartMonitor reports a lot of questions especially marked as old age so I need to replace the disk. I was wondering if I can replace it with any standard 2.5 "ATA as an ATA-100 player. as the disk of 60 GB specification is ATA - 5.

  The P20 supports an improved IDE (ATA-5) interface.

  If you want to use a faster disk (ATA-6 or later), then possibly the controller would have only allows the performance of ATA-5;

  I have a Satellite P25-s607, and I wanted to know the following:

  (1) if it is allowed to install only a single 1 GB stick of RAM next to a 256 MB stick? Do I lose any speed performance this versus 2 sticks of 1 GB (in assuming that I use less than 1 GB of RAM, most of the time)? It seems that there is a performance hit since this model supports dual-channel memory (according to crucial.com)

  (2) I guess that's the correct module (better) to use: [1 GB, 200-pin SODIMM, DDR PC2700 | http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartspecs.aspx?mtbpoid=3B53A794A5CA7304] with specs:

  (5) what graphics card (it came with NVIDIAî Geforcea? ¢ of the FX Go5200 graphics controller; external video memory 64 MB DDR)? Also I guess not...

  With regard to the number of question:

  (1) the laptop can be upgraded up to 2 GB of RAM, and this is why you can use a 1 GB of RAM and a 256 MB module. But it of always better if you want to use identical memory modules. It is better for performance, but I doubt you will notice a performance boost.

  (2) Yes, you must use the 200-pin SODIMM, DDR PC2700 modules

  (3) If your laptop runs then I put t problem see no reason for an update of the BIOS

  (4) usually it's s not advisable to upgrade the processor because of a superior heat dissipation and overheating due to better CPU performance

  (5) it is certainly not possible because the GPU is attached on the map

  Why are you suggesting that the drive is not recognized in the BIOS?
  Have you tried different options to boot from the CD?

  Usually if you press the C key immediately after starting the laptop, you should be able to boot from the disc. In addition, you must change the boot order in the BIOS.

  Have you tried to boot from various records as the original CD of Windows?
  Maybe your first CD is corrupt and that's why the drive cannot start.

  MK6022GAX MK6025GAS hard drives ATA-5 compliant and have 60 GB.
  As far as I know this device was delivered also with the 60 GB HDD ATA-5.
  I think that these drives should work on you laptop.

  As you probably know, mobile technology is not the same as the desktop PC simply and it s is not possible to replace or change the graphics card.

  Recently, I brought my Satellite P25 computer at best buy because the monitor showed green squares distributed across the entire screen. They said it was my video card and went on to say that I would need to buy a new computer because of the integration of the video card and the motherboard.

  I know that this computer is pretty old (by the standards of the computer) its 5 years, but I paid 3 grand for it. Does anyone know an alternative in addition to come out and be forced to buy another computer? Best Buy has added, all new Vista computer on it and its not backward compatible with my programs that run on XP.

  I agree with Akuma. I saw often defective P20/P25 on eBay. People sell it because of the broken plastic or defective screen but the motherboard is Ok. I recommend checking out eBay from time to time and with a little luck, you'll find something for you.

• Satellite P25-S520 - DVD player does not work properly

  My DVD player does not work properly, in fact it can never work properly. Recently, I tried to back up my PC on a DVD using Norton 360. Norton did not recognize that the DVD was present. Then I tried to write a text file on a DVD and was a failure. DVD + R and DVD-R media were found to be (Maxwell 16 X).

  I could have probably lived with this however, I received a copy of Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 10 on a CD and my Toshiba would not recognize it. I tried the CD in my laptop nearby and it was recognized.

  An attempt to update the driver has also fails.

  I was able to copy a CD of music last night so that at least works properly.

  Does anyone know how can I fix? The important part is to be able to load my new program.

  Research on some forums I found that other people have had problems with the Pioneer drive. If the drive can't be fixed, I'm not adverse to buying an external DVD drive. Unfortunately, where I live there is no brick and mortar stores selling external drives and I prefer to avoid the hassle of getting a drive online and discovering that it does not work with my Toshiba. Can someone suggest an external USB drive that will read and write CD and DVD and is certain to be compatible with my Toshiba?

  Any external USB CD/DVD drive will be compatible with your laptop.

  However, you won't be able to boot from CD (run recovery for example) If you are using an external drive.

  So, your best option would be to replace the internal drive with a Toshiba drive designed for the laptop. Call an ASP and request a quote.

• Missing some drivers for Satellite P25-s607

  I have a Satellite P25-s607 I just do a clean reinstall of Windows XP media center edition windows home edition and the following drivers are not installed: Ethernet controller, multimedia audio controller, PCI modem and video controller (VGA compatible). all the four elements falls under other devices in Device Manager and the Device Manager doesn't give any information other than the other device and manufacturer = unknown.

  You simply install the missing drivers, buddy ;)

  This laptop was designed for the American market, therefore, it would be desirable to search for the drivers on the Toshiba site us ;)
