Save password dialog appears

I see the behavior that suggests that the dialog box for recording of passwords is invisible:

  • I often see the outline of an area where the dialog box would be
  • On a few occasions, the dialog box appears for a few seconds before disappearing - I was once again able to record
  • On sites where to enter a password, the hyperlinks are not recognized in the region where save it password dialog appears normally - it of as if the window is there but not visible.

I uninstalled and reinstalled.

Private browsing is disabled. Save passwords are checked.

Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions of the origin of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > appearance/themes).

If this does not work in mode without failure, then disable all extensions and then try to find out who is the cause by allowing both the problem reappears.

  • Choose "Disable all add-ons" on issues to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode to set window to disable all extensions.
  • Close and restart Firefox after each change through "file > exit ' (Mac: ' Firefox > leave";) Linux: "file > exit ')

If there are fields of password on a web page, you can't possibly avoid this dialog box.

All these fields are visible, or some are hidden.

You could try to hide certain fields if they are now to see if that helps.
You can do this with userChrome.css code or the Stylish extension.
The file userChrome.css (UI) customization and userContent.css (Web sites) are located in the folder of chrome in the Firefox profile folder.

Otherwise, you have to take more drastic measures and remove these fields.

  • Firefox prompts to save passwords of websites. The key to the Password Manager icon appears on the left side of the address bar, but the corresponding window asking if I want to save the password or not, does not appear. I tried all the possible solutions

I installed the latest version of Firefox on my laptop (Windows 7 Professional 64-bit). The thing is that firefox prompt to save passwords of websites. I'll explain you a little more away with an example: suppose I load www.gmail.com. When I login, the password manager key is displayed on the left side of the address bar, but the corresponding window which would ask if I want to save the password or not, does not appear. I tried all the possible solutions. It is true that when I restart firefox with disabled modules (safe mode), password manager works fine. But I don't really use Add-ons that could prevent firefox to save passwords. I disabled all add-ons and ran firefox in normal mode, but the password manager does not work yet. Please keep in mind that I tried everything and that any post not published so far describes a similar problem to mine case. Consider that I have the same I have configured the entire system from the beginning. The problem appeared again from the first time I launched firefox. At that time, I had not installed any antivirus software and there is no add-on with firefox. Hope someone can give me a valid solution...

It is possible that there is a problem with key3db and signons.sqlite files that store the encrypted names and passwords in Firefox.

Rename signons3.txt and signons.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder.

You can add .old files (key3.db.old and signons.sqlite.old) names or move them to another folder to make it possible to cancel the action.

You must define a new master password after renaming or removing the signons3.txt and all the currently saved passwords are lost.

If that worked, then you can delete the renamed files that are no longer needed.

Hello, Web sites can specify whether browsers should be able to save the name of user and password (through the AutoComplete = "off" attribute in the login form in the html source code) and many banks choose to do this, probably to increase security.

You can either install an addon or use a bookmarklet to work around this behavior.

  • VBA Project Password dialog box indicated after closing Excel when Acrobat PDFMaker COM Addin is sound

VBA Project Password dialog box shown after closing Excel when Acrobat PDFMaker COM Addin is enabled

I have developed many applications in different environments (ASP, SQL, VBA, VB, etc.) of the past 20 years. Recently I've had reports about a bug that I believe that the derivative of a com add-in called "Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM Addin" (PDFMaker.OfficeAddin) developed by Adobe.

The application that generates the problem rests in Excel. There a Userform with a ListBox in it. The position of the listbox is different depending on several parameters and is changed programmatically. However, whenever the UserForm has proved and the user closes the file of the VBA project password dialog box appears. The pop up password must be cancelled 2 - 5 times before it disappears.

The problem of course is very annoying and difficult to explain to the customers who paid me for the solution. I spent a lot of time trying to solve the problem, but with little success.

Recently, I read in a forum that it was caused by the Acrobat PDFMaker COM Addin. I couldn't believe it, but when I disabled the add-in everything works correctly. In addition, in machines that does not add-in installed there is no problems reported.

    pens-after-closing-the-Excel-workbook http://www.excelguru.ca/forums/showthread.php?1009-quot-VBA-Project-Password-quot-Window-o

How to reproduce the BUG (5 minutes) (Courtesy Randall):

To reproduce this bug anyone can just create a new workbook for MacroEnabled, 1) adds a UserForm with a close button, 2) protect the VBProject code (this is essential), 3) add code to load or. View the UserForm in the WB or Activate open procedure, 4) add Userform code change of ownership (for example. High =. Left =. (Caption =) in the Userform Init procedure (this is essential), 5) save and close the workbook. (6) revive the workbook by ensuring that the UserForm is opened and then close it via the button you have provided on the UserForm. (7) exit the WB via the file Menu option - leave (this is essential). Wait, wait what he (about 5 seconds) :-) invited password VBProject to appear, repeatable.

As a solution, I tried to disable the add-in at startup, but the line Application. ComAddIns("PDFMaker.OfficeAddin ") . Connect = False

will throw an error "This add-in is installed for all users on this computer and may only be connected or disconnected by an administrator."

I read in some forum that the issue occurs if the ActiveX DLL does not correctly release the reference to the workbook that contains the VBA project protected by password (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/280454)

Any help to solve the problem or find a workaround is very appreciated.

    Hi Niklas,

The above question has been saved as a Bug and has been corrected in Acrobat 11.0.1 update.

  • do not ask to save passwords

I use 40.0.02 and Firefox's is more inviting to save passwords, and all my saved passwords previously disappeared.

    Parameters:
-Under the heading Privacy - Firefox will remember the story
-Safety - checked to remember passwords - and there are no exceptions

A suggestion is to update Firefox – I did once before to solve a problem and everything is kerfuffled, so I'm hesitant to try it.

Suggestions? Thank you very much for your time and your expertise!

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

It is possible that there is a problem with signons3.txt (encryption key) and logins.json (encrypted names and passwords) in Firefox.
You can open the logins.json file in Notepad (Firefox/tools > Web Developer) to check its content.
Click on the button to "Pretty Print" to fit the file for readability.
If there are names and passwords encrypted in logins.json there is probably a problem with the signons3.txt file that stores the encryption key.
You can rename the file signons3.txt (key3.db.old) and the logins.json (logins.json.old) file or move these files to another folder to make it possible to cancel the action.
Rename or delete a file of possible signons.sqlite (signons.sqlite.old) used by older versions of Firefox as well.
You must define a new master password after renaming or removing the signons3.txt and all the currently saved passwords are lost.
If that worked, then you can delete the renamed files that are no longer needed.

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

  • The master password dialog box is not well labeled. No luck, it could be spoofed using JS and someone could then access all passwords?

IMO, request master password dialog box is not well labeled, and its identity (and authentic) seem a little in doubt whenever it appears. It is possible that someone could be spoof using JS and I could unwittingly put my "skeleton key" to a thief? Please tell me I'll be paranoid!

I don't think a script in an ordinary web page has the permission to read your passwords for other Web sites, even if you are not using a master password. It should be limited to see what password manager fills in the page.

For this reason, even if a page has captured your master password, I don't think that he could use it in a harmful way. But I'm maybe not quite devious.

  • Why my firefox does not offer to save passwords?

There is no exceptions listed and the checkbox is marked to save passwords, but when I go on sites like Twitter and Facebook it doesn't offer not to record passwords, can anyone help?

You see no password specified for this field or have with an empty name entries in the password manager?

    • Tools > Options > Security: passwords: "saved passwords" > "show passwords".
  • Key to the left of the URL does not return the Save password.

I read a lot of discussions and pages on Firefox recording not passwords. I do not have 'private browsing '. I have cookies and history recorded "until they expire". I checked "save passwords". I don't have any exceptions.

When I go to enter a password, no small window opens asking me to save it. However, a little _does_ keys appear. But the key is grayed out and clicking on it does nothing. This isn't 'show' password saver.

I disabled all add-ons, restarted and tried again. It was always the same. The sites are those that work perfectly on my desktop computer, but not on my laptop. The laptop is one that won't save passwords.

    It's a Samsung running Windows 7.

    Hello

We have currently upgraded Acrobat 8 standard, Acrobat 10.1.6. On our old version of Acrobat, when we unchecked the option in the preferences - Internet - view the PDF in the browser, it would open files in a new window, Acrobat.

With X installed, we don't seem to have this option more. Things turn one of the two following ways:

Display in browser checked = PDF is displayed in the browser (IE9)

Uncontrolled browser display = save as dialog box appears when you click the link in the browser

It doesn't seem to be the solution we front aircraft, where there is enough to open the file in a new window, Acrobat.

Are there any settings that would back this expected behavior of my user?

    Thanks in advance,

    John

    Hello

Browsers are evolving so quickly (a few months) it was impossible to keep this work in all browsers. The setting is left as is his preference of registry.

There is a cmd line property that works. See the Administrator's Guide: www.adobe.com/go/acrobatetk.

  • Showing the full path of the file in the Save as dialog box

I'm a relatively new for MAC OS and I took the habit of intelligent services on Microsoft file manipulation, in particular to the Save as dialog box. Who has a little smart "arrows" and "buttons" allowing you to ask around the system of files easily, but I faced something else in the MAC operating system.

Finally, I was able to pass on the path of file bar in the Finder (basically, that nice, small bar with the name of folders/sub-sub-sub-folders you can switch to and it shows "where you are both in the file system"), but I don't miss the Save as dialog box. I tried to find it in the settings to turn it on, scoured the internet, talked with experts at Apple, also called the central phone number, but I couldn't learn all solutions to get the bar path of file under tension to the Save as dialog box.

And believe me, it's very annoying, when you create a file structure when you register under ' week/Tuesday/XY client Documents/work/approvals/journal/2016/August/2nd /' a file and for the recording of the version changed the same file under the same path, but not to not only return to the file a subfolder creation there AB of the customer, I have to click again through the whole lot.

The arrows 'story' don't help because when I click on the it puts me directly to record under the folder where I have the last recorded the previous file, or help click on the drop-down above, where records are listed because I could never find the subfolder where I want to go back to there.

Are there solutions to get the path of file under tension to the Save dialog box under?

Or is there a plan to get it in the new version of the operating system?

It is the same on the open file dialog box...

..., and I don't want to keep a Finder opens just to copy..., on the way to the record, which was the same effort and has been even more professional!

I would like to just turn this simple file path bar,..., even that which is available in the Finder!

Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks for sharing your thoughts in advance, Ian

    1 NO.

  • How can I get permanent Private Browsing, I want to save passwords?

I tried several times to turn off private browsing which requires a reboot. After the reboot, private browsing is always engaged. What I want, it is to be able to save passwords from time to time and can't restore that work in private browsing.

Your list of details of the system shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize prefs each time you start Firefox.
The user.js file will be present if you or a other software created this file and normally will not present.

You can check its contents with a text editor (right click: 'Open with'; do not double-click).
The user.js file is read whenever Firefox is started and initializes the preferences to the specified value in this file, so the preferences set via user.js can be changed temporarily for the current session.

You can remove the user.js file if you do not create this file yourself.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:

Windows hides certain default file extensions.
Among them .html and .txt, so you can see only a file name without .ini and .js file extension.
You can see the type of actual file (file extension) in the properties of the file via the context menu in Windows Explorer.

  • Why is my 'Save password' grayed out? I want TO save the passwords!

Why is my 'Save password' grayed out? I want TO save the passwords!

This can happen if you're in private browsing mode.

Make sure that you are not Firefox running in permanent private browsing mode (don't remember history).

    • Tools > Options > privacy > Firefox will be: "use the custom settings for history".
    • : Uncheck the [] "always use the private browsing mode.
  • Stop asking save passwords for NEW sites, still keep filling passwords for sites ALREADY SAVED

So here's my problem. I have a handful of site where I leave FF save/fill in my password and user name information. For these sites, I WANT FF for save and continue to fill my login information. However, I do not want FF to save my credentials for ANY OTHER SITE.

Now while I have my login information stored in FF for these websites, if I disable "Remember passwords for sites" in Security Options, FF continues to fill my login information for these sites (despite the fact that it has always recorded info). Once I re - check this option, FF starts to fill in my password again.

AFAIK, disabling of "do not forget passwords for sites" is the only way to get FF to stop asking me if I want to have save my password, but if I do that it will also stop filling the passwords that I've saved.

So, is there a way either:
    (A) have "Passwords sites Remember" disabled, but that FF inserts passwords I already saved it, or
    (B) have 'passwords to Remember sites"enabled, but STOP asking me to save passwords for all new Web sites?

I want to ONLY FF to register AND fill the passwords that I've saved. I don't want to be prompted to save passwords for all new sites either.

Is this possible? Maybe an add-on or about: config setting I could change?

    Thanks in advance!
