save passwords in vista

I use DW8 in Vista, and every time I close DW8 and open it, it forgets my FTP login and password. So, I have to go to control panel for managing Sites and re - enter my login and password. I didn't have a problem in XP. Is there anything I can do about it?

How to save passwords on my computer without asking permission.

    Hi Donna,.

If you talk over the internet with Internet Explorer, open IE and go to Tools / Internet Options / content / AutoComplete / settings and check the boxes to remember usernames and passwords on forms and forms (and, if you wish, the option to memorize without being asked).  It will work for the websites most even if some may require even allows you to enter the password anyway as they are coded to override the automatic setting and require a contribution each time for reasons of security exhibited by site developers or owners-, but it should help a lot and probably even more.

If you're talking about passwords to use the programs on the computer because you are a standard user and not an administrator, it is a different matter.  Here, although it is possible to do (most often - there will be exceptions), I strongly suggest you don't have to mean it turn off a sizeable part of the security of your computer and that can cause you a lot of trouble later regardless of how you defended yourself or what products you use.  If that's what you hear, then please come back but if you consider how you want to go despite the risks and my warnings, then return and I'll explain how to do it despite the fact that I think it's a very bad idea to do so.  I need the version of Windows you are using (for example, 32-bit Vista Business SP2 - and Yes, detailing a lot).

If I missed the question, please explain more clearly exactly what types of passwords you talk.  Passwords to do what and for what programs (names and versions) or functions (what the password is open or what permission don't you get when he entered)?  Connection password or other types?  Also, what version of Windows you are medium (for example, Vista Business SP2 - 32-bit and Yes, detailing a lot)?

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks and good luck!

  • Outlook 2002 asking the password on Vista 64

    Hello
Everytime I open Outlook 2002 it always ask for my email accounts password, even if they are save in my accounts and check the box to save passwords, have detect and repair several times and the problem persist even when I run Outlook as an administrator.  The UAC is disabled.

    Any suggestion?

    Thank you

Outlook 2003 and later versions are compatible versions for Vista.

This "password forgotten" is a known issue in earlier versions of Outlook.

There is NO work around for her. Once you connect to Outlook, you must leave minimized in the taskbar.

The only way to solve it is to upgrade Outlook to a more recent version.

  • How to use the screen saver password

want my computer to disconnect after being away from my computer for so long.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-AU/Windows-Vista/use-your-Windows-password-for-your-screen-saver-password

Use your Windows password for your screen saver password

You can help make your computer more secure by creating a screen saver password, to lock your computer when the screen saver is activated. The screen saver password is the same password that you use when you connect to Windows drives.

  • Save password on the wrong web page dialog box

    Hello
I was unnecessarily save password dialogn on the page account rather than a web page of signIN.aspx. In the page, I have tabs. One of the tab, contains a user control to change password. Another tab contains a links to the history of orders.

Once I click on the history of the order No. #, automatically change password dialog appears from nowhere I went through the source code and found out, the Web page contains OldPassword and NewPassword fields in divChangePassword.

Please let us know, how to fix this bug. It does not appear on all other browsers.

    Kind regards
    Sriram

If there are fields of password on a web page, you can't possibly avoid this dialog box.

All these fields are visible, or some are hidden.

You could try to hide certain fields if they are now to see if that helps.
You can do this with userChrome.css code or the Stylish extension.
The file userChrome.css (UI) customization and userContent.css (Web sites) are located in the folder of chrome in the Firefox profile folder.

Otherwise, you have to take more drastic measures and remove these fields.

  • do not ask to save passwords

I use 40.0.02 and Firefox's is more inviting to save passwords, and all my saved passwords previously disappeared.

    Parameters:
-Under the heading Privacy - Firefox will remember the story
-Safety - checked to remember passwords - and there are no exceptions

A suggestion is to update Firefox – I did once before to solve a problem and everything is kerfuffled, so I'm hesitant to try it.

Suggestions? Thank you very much for your time and your expertise!

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

It is possible that there is a problem with signons3.txt (encryption key) and logins.json (encrypted names and passwords) in Firefox.
You can open the logins.json file in Notepad (Firefox/tools > Web Developer) to check its content.
Click on the button to "Pretty Print" to fit the file for readability.
If there are names and passwords encrypted in logins.json there is probably a problem with the signons3.txt file that stores the encryption key.
You can rename the file signons3.txt (key3.db.old) and the logins.json (logins.json.old) file or move these files to another folder to make it possible to cancel the action.
Rename or delete a file of possible signons.sqlite (signons.sqlite.old) used by older versions of Firefox as well.
You must define a new master password after renaming or removing the signons3.txt and all the currently saved passwords are lost.
If that worked, then you can delete the renamed files that are no longer needed.

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

  • How can I get permanent Private Browsing, I want to save passwords?

I tried several times to turn off private browsing which requires a reboot. After the reboot, private browsing is always engaged. What I want, it is to be able to save passwords from time to time and can't restore that work in private browsing.

Your list of details of the system shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize prefs each time you start Firefox.
The user.js file will be present if you or a other software created this file and normally will not present.

You can check its contents with a text editor (right click: 'Open with'; do not double-click).
The user.js file is read whenever Firefox is started and initializes the preferences to the specified value in this file, so the preferences set via user.js can be changed temporarily for the current session.

You can remove the user.js file if you do not create this file yourself.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:

Windows hides certain default file extensions.
Among them .html and .txt, so you can see only a file name without .ini and .js file extension.
You can see the type of actual file (file extension) in the properties of the file via the context menu in Windows Explorer.

  • Why is my 'Save password' grayed out? I want TO save the passwords!

Why is my 'Save password' grayed out? I want TO save the passwords!

This can happen if you're in private browsing mode.

Make sure that you are not Firefox running in permanent private browsing mode (don't remember history).

    • Tools > Options > privacy > Firefox will be: "use the custom settings for history".
    • : Uncheck the [] "always use the private browsing mode.
  • Stop asking save passwords for NEW sites, still keep filling passwords for sites ALREADY SAVED

So here's my problem. I have a handful of site where I leave FF save/fill in my password and user name information. For these sites, I WANT FF for save and continue to fill my login information. However, I do not want FF to save my credentials for ANY OTHER SITE.

Now while I have my login information stored in FF for these websites, if I disable "Remember passwords for sites" in Security Options, FF continues to fill my login information for these sites (despite the fact that it has always recorded info). Once I re - check this option, FF starts to fill in my password again.

AFAIK, disabling of "do not forget passwords for sites" is the only way to get FF to stop asking me if I want to have save my password, but if I do that it will also stop filling the passwords that I've saved.

So, is there a way either:
    (A) have "Passwords sites Remember" disabled, but that FF inserts passwords I already saved it, or
    (B) have 'passwords to Remember sites"enabled, but STOP asking me to save passwords for all new Web sites?

I want to ONLY FF to register AND fill the passwords that I've saved. I don't want to be prompted to save passwords for all new sites either.

Is this possible? Maybe an add-on or about: config setting I could change?

    Thanks in advance!

In the password prompt to remember:
2nd bulleted item - this choice is offered
"To say don't remember usernames and passwords for the current site of Firefox, click the menu drop down and select never save password for this Site." In the future, when you log on the website you will not be invited to record the user name and password. »

  • Firefox does not save password

Firefox does not remember my password even when I click on save password on all websites I visit. Recently, I installed a new computer and copied my old profile folder to the firefox profile folder. I use the latest version of firefox.

In addition, all Gmail accounts are deleted when I associate different Gmail accounts to a list. But for my username AutoComplete still works.

See passwords in the password manager?

It is possible that there is a problem with key3db and signons.sqlite files that store the encrypted names and passwords in Firefox.

In the Firefox profile folder, rename the files key3db and signons.sqlite.

You can add .old files (key3.db.old and signons.sqlite.old) names or move them to another folder to make it possible to cancel the action.

You must define a new master password after renaming or removing the signons3.txt and all the currently saved passwords are lost.

If that worked, then you can delete the renamed files that are no longer needed.

Otherwise, you can rename the files to their previous names (signons.sqlite and key3db).

    Hi, jscher2000:

Yes it's MARKET! Thank you very much for your help!

I'm not all pages to remember my password I just want some specific pages to remember passwords. for example. for now I only need craigslist login page to remember my pw, not other login pages.

If this is the case, then it is a perfect solution for me.

  • I did NOT 'save passwords' check and is in private browsing mode - but are still saved my pw. ZERO password indicated @ 'saved passwd '. How to solve?

    "Save passwords" option NOT selected

NEVER agreed to save passwords on the list of options and no pop-up request pw firefox.

either private browsing mode "NEVER remember HISTORY" blocked cookies.

CCleaner chosen to clean all the passwords of firefox.

    Yet they are still recorded.

    We found the problem.

One of the Firefox Add some PLUGINs ON record our passwords.

We have removed the plugin. (Ironically, it was "MaskMe", a plug-in that supposedly help to privacy but rather secure our passwords saved for everything).

Sorry for the confusion. Care for others - do not use 'MaskMe', unless you want ALL your passwords and information connection recorded on a questionable site 'confidence' and autofilled whenever you don't want it to be.

  • Firefox no longer offer to save passwords. Why?

Very confusing. As I create this account, instant, Firefox to offer to save my password and update when I had to go home, still about connecting to other sites, for example NYTimes.com, the supply never comes upward. no verification of saved passwords, no list of nytimes.com , but parameters have save passwords selected. I tried deselecting & selecting without effect. I'm not in the mandatory private browsing. Your help is appreciated.

Some websites send a code to collectors of password do not work.
    If you go to
    Mozilla Add-ons Web page
You can find something to help you. In ADDITION, some web sites will send
    a code that disables the right-click / < Control > C= copy / < Control > P= paste.
    You can also find
an add-on that will restore it to your control.

Hello, for security reasons firefox won't save passwords without your intervention - you can confirm/deny the registration of each new password (see attached screenshot).

  • When I connect to a site that requires a password, why don't the Save password check box appears open, even though I have this feature enabled?

I activated the "Save password" function on & off, press on save and even restarted my computer and I nothing will cause the box 'Save password' open pop and give me a chance to save my passwords. It burst open for a few sites, but for most, it pops open!

Hello, Web sites can specify whether browsers should be able to save the name of user and password (through the AutoComplete = "off" attribute in the login form in the html source code) and many banks choose to do this, probably to increase security.

You can either install an addon or use a bookmarklet to work around this behavior.
