Scan host to retrieve the names of m..
Hello world. I would like to scna ESX hosts to obtain the names of virtual machine before ghettoVCBg2.pl. I just want to get a snapshot of every machine I have.
In the old thread of comments, the script generateVMList.pl is mentioned. Anyone know where I can find it?
Thanks in advance
Which you mentioned call is actually correct, but Sourceforge recently got attacked and they have disabled some of the webviews, is why you can not access it. However, it is still available on sourceforge, but you will need to use SVN CLI which allows to reach the repository vGhetto. I enclose the script in this response pending

Retrieves the name of the variable
Hello
I'm trying to change the OpenG changed? Subvi (see below) so that he will write the new value of the variable sent to 'Variant' if changed on the disk (using the following config VI). To do this, I need to somehow extract the variable name of the variable (any type) which was connected to the entrance of variant of the changed? Sub - VI by VI calling so that I can use it as a key name. Is this possible? This information is still transmitted to the Subvi?
If you use openg, there is a "Get the name of data" function that retrieves the name of the data passed in the Variant.

Is it possible, using ExtendScript, to retrieve the name of a model used in first
I have an AE Comp used in first instance. I'm looking for a way to quickly manage the names of the AE model and this model used in the first instance. The goal is to maintain naming conventions as efficiently and accurately as possible. I was wondering if there is a way, using ExtendScript (a command in a custom panel) to retrieve the name AE Comp of her in first instance.
Any projectItem with a path ending with .aep is a likely candidate.
Our next version provides iteration better the elements in a sequence; You can reach the projectItem of any clip, that should give you what you need.

Get this error when trying to upgrade from 5.5 to 6.0 VCSA. Any ideas on this one? It comes right after that I entered the user/pass/fqdn name for my virtual center device.
Step 1 relax step 2 use the hostname for your ESXi host target not the virtual center server.

I am trying to create a generic message using LVOOP logging class. The recorder would include information on stage during execution (name, sequence, etc.). I would like to create the message object log and then move it into another object (communication, controller of oven, etc.). Everyone should get its own copy. None of this is a problem to date.
I found ways to gather the necessary information to ThisContext. However, this only seems to work if ThisContext is spent in running step. If I want ThisContext in LVOOP, the next step to try to use causes an error 1 "an input parameter is incorrect." Is it possible to get this kind of information (name, sequence, etc.) without ThisContext in at each stage? It would be inappropriate to do so, but if necessary I will. It does not go against LVOOP.
Summary: Can I hold ThisContext go a step and use it in a later step to find the name of the current stage? If not, is there an effective way to do this?
My solution was to store the reference to thread. At each step, I can retrieve the current context. This is valid only in a thread, but meets my needs. I could also move something to a higher level, but it would need to know the thread that interests me in any case.

How can I retrieve the name of the server and the database to a system dsn
Hello
I am trying to create a database that will be used by many stores. Each store has its own server and the database and the access runtime version. I want to create a system dsn name, but allowing the administrator to modify the server and the database for that dsn and then, when you connect to the database, the database must be able to find this DSN and the 'new' name of the server and name of 'new' database and connect to point to this server and the database tables. I don't have a login form and I can get the name of the dsn, but I can't find a way to get the server name and database name for that dsn. Does anyone know a way to retrieve this from the registry. I can see it using regedit but have no idea on how to get this in vba access.
This issue is beyond the scope of this site (for consumers) and to be sure, you get the best (and fastest) reply, we have to ask either on Technet (for IT Pro) or MSDN (for developers)* -
Retrieve the Name of the tag property
I'm definitely a novice PowerCLI. However, I have a script which is heavily borrowed from http://www.vstrong.info/2013/10/18/vmware-powercli-script-to-query-virtual-machine-events/
What I would like to make in addition to the values that are retrieved, also receive the Name property of the attribute of the tag.
The script I use now is:
$vcenterserver = "myvcenter".
# Check if VMware Snapin is loaded, otherwise, load
If ((Get - PSSnapin - name VMware.VimAutomation.Core - ErrorAction SilentlyContinue) - eq $null)
{
Add-PSSnapin VMware.VimAutomation.Core
}
SE connect-VIServer-Server $vcenterserver
$CDT = get-Date
Get-VM-name testvm | »
Get-VIEvent-Types of information - start $CDT. AddDays(-30)-finishing $CDT | »
Where {'}
$_. GetType(). Name - eq "VmBeingDeployedEvent" "
- or $_. GetType(). Name - eq "VmCreatedEvent" "
- or $_. GetType(). Name - eq "VmRegisteredEvent"} | »
Select the name of user, Createduserid, FullFormattedMessage, @{Name = "VM"; Expression = {$_.} Vm.Name}}, @{Name = "RC Code"; Expression = {$_.} Vm.Tag}}
He retrieves the correct values with the exception of the tag for the virtual machine. I also tried @{Name = "RC Code"; Expression = {$_.} Vm.Tag.Name}}
I can extract the value in a table using the following command, but can't seem to pull the Name property:
Get-VM-name testvm | Get-TagAssignment-category RCCode | Select-Object - ExpandProperty tag
Description of the categories of name
---- -------- -----------
10031 technical RCCode except...
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
OK, then try this. I have not yet tested, but it should do it for you:
Select the name of user, Createduserid, FullFormattedMessage, @{Name = "VM"; Expression = {$_.} Vm.Name}}, @{Name = "RC Code"; Expression = {$vm = ($_.)} UMM name); Get-TagAssignment | where {$_.} Entity-like ("$VM")}}} | Export Csv c:\Temp\csv.csv - NoTypeInformation - UseCulture
The issue was that as the expression of Code RC worked essentially a new request, the $_. UMM name was irrelevant for the entity. Instead I just had the previous $_. UMM name in a variable that is referenced in the cmdlet that followed. Let me know if it works for you.

How to retrieve the names of vSwitch
Hello list,
I have a query regarding the recovery of all the names of vSwitch just after the creation of a new vSwitch using perl sdk. Here is the code snippet I've tried.
My $host_view = Vim::find_entity_view (view_type = > 'HostSystem');
My $netSys = Vim::get_view (mo_ref = > $host_view->-> networkSystem configManager);
EVAL {$netSys-> AddVirtualSwitch ('vswitchName' = > 'vSwitch10') ;};}
if ($@) ;
If ($@)
My $vswitches = $netSys - > networkInfo-> vswitch;
foreach my {$vswitch (@$vswitches)}
printing $vswitch-> name;
}
Note that on the system, there is a default created vSwitch vSwitch0. In addition to this, I create a vSwitch called 'vSwitch10' using the code above. Just after the creation of the vSwitch, I'm reading the names of the vSwitches available in this system. But I see that only vSwitch0 is recovered...
If I question the vSwitches since a different perl script names, vSwitch0 and vSwitch10 are retrieved.
I'm missing something in the passage above the code. This means the VMware::VIRuntime libs; AppUtil::HostUtil; must be reloaded after creating a vswitch?
Thank you
Ghislain
You will need refresh networkSystem display to see the changes.
You can use update_view_data() on netSys, or get the view again once.
$netSys->update_view_data();
It should work

Retrieve the names of columns in a table.
Hi all
I want to retrieve column names of a table "test", whose values are null
For ex:
Select * from test
give the results that
column_1, column_2, column_3, column_4
111
allows to consider the case that the table has only one record.
as a result, we will have to get column_2, column_3, column_4 and more.
I tried dynamic "run immediately" the statement and tried to extract in a single execution of immediate instruction, but I wasn't able to accomplish because of several columns.
is it possible without using a pl/sql function or procedure?Check this box:
SQL> INSERT INTO my_Test values('ABCD',NULL,NULL); 1 row created. SQL> COMMIT; Commit complete. SQL> select * from my_Test; COL1 C COL3 ---------- - ---------- ABCD SQL> declare 2 CURSOR C1 IS SELECT column_name FROM all_tab_cols WHERE table_name = 'MY_TEST'; 3 v_sql VARCHAR2(10000) := NULL; 4 my_null_col_list VARCHAR2(32767) := NULL; 5 my_cnt NUMBER := 0; 6 BEGIN 7 FOR I in C1 LOOP 8 v_sql := 'SELECT COUNT(*) FROM my_test WHERE '||I.column_name ||' IS NULL'; 9 execute immediate v_sql INTO my_cnt; 10 IF (my_cnt > 0) THEN 11 my_null_col_list := my_null_Col_list||','||I.column_name; 12 END IF; 13 END LOOP; 14 my_null_col_list := SUBSTR(my_null_col_list,2); 15 dbms_output.put_line('Columns that have null values for table my_Test are:'||my_null_col_list); 16 END; 17 / Columns that have null values for table my_Test are:COL2,COL3 PL/SQL procedure successfully completed. SQL> desc my_test; Name Null? Type ----------------------------------------- -------- ---------------------------- COL1 VARCHAR2(10) COL2 VARCHAR2(1) COL3 VARCHAR2(10) SQL>
