Schalkywk Commando Defender popup

I tried to update my antivirus AVG since to convey a message that I am not protected. All with my AVG worked fine until two days ago. I tried also to "solve the problem" with the program AVG itself without effect.  AVG gives think I uninstalll and reinstall to get it working properly again. To try this, I get the message SCHALKYWK COMMANDO DEFENDER 0xC202 blocking me to uninstall AVG.  From what I understand, it is a program that is installed by rent - to the own company.  That's all fine and dandy, but how do I get it to either uninstall or update programs? I am running windows Defender, but currently have no anti-virus! Please someone HELP!

Hello

Use the AVG removal tool:

Or contact the company that you rent the computer from assistance.

  • Windows Defender who need more information about certain files?

Hello - I just receive a windows defender popup after a game of Battlefield 2, requesting more information about 2 files that are used by punkbuster - w resident c:\windows\system32\drivers\pnkbstrk.sys in the folder system32\drivers and pnkbstrb.exe in the system32 folder.

It seems that anti-malware apps are prone to detect falsely as a virus because of the way they work, and when I scan them with my other anti-virus/anti-malware tools they find nothing wrong - but when I checked the windows Defender directly, I noticed there are several guests in a history dating back to early November, saying "this program has undesirable behaviors."

I wonder if it is normal to get this fast - I'm using Vista for several years now and this is the first time I ever saw him, it is a legitimate part of Windows Defender? the prompt has been along the lines of "Microsoft needs more information about this software These files can help Microsoft improve the effectiveness of Windows Defender to help protect your system. If you do not want to send a file deactivate the checkbox next to it. "Followed by w c:\windows\system32\drivers\pnkbstrk.sys, then another with pnkbstrb.exe.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

All this is normal. There has been releases of versions of malware to these files if Windows Defender
is to ensure that those of your system are legitimate.

Games is particularly known for the possibility of introducing malware so most antivirus/antispyware/security
programs check these viligently. Added that often a developer (game) will change something it then
causes a part of their program to be detected as malware. It works in two ways, the detection program
changes in its methods and/or the detected program has changed and is causing a false positive.

    ===================================================================

Here's what I use and recommend: (these are all free and very effective versions.)

Avast and Prevx proved extremely reliable and compatible with all I have
launched on them. Microsoft Security Essentials and Prevx have also proven to be very
reliable and compatible. Use MSE or Avast and Prevx, Prevx 3 but not all.

Avast Home free - stop any shields is not necessary except leaving Standard, Web, and
    Operation of the network.

    Prevx - Home - free

    Windows Firewall

Windows Defender (is not necessary if you use MSE)

    Protected IE - mode

IE 8 - SmartScreen filter WE (IE 7 phishing filter)

I also IE always start with asset if filter InPrivate IE 8.
(It may temporarily turn off with the little icon to the left of the + bottom
    right of IE)

Two versions of Avast are available 5.x and 4.8 x

Avast - home - free - 5.x stop shields you do not use (except files, Web, network, &)
Shields of behavior) - double click on the icon in the Notification area - real time Orange - click on the
Shield that you want to stop - STOP. To stop the Orange icon to show an error indicator-
Click on the Orange icon - top right - settings - click on the status bar - uncheck shields you
    disabled - click OK
    http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download

Avast 4.8 x - home - free - stop shields, you don't need except leaving Standard, Web,.
and the network running. (Double-click the blue icon - look OK. - upper left - Shields details
    Finish those you don't use).
    http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download#TAB4

Or use Microsoft Security Essentials - free
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/

Prevx works well alongside MSE or Avast

Prevx - home - free small, fast, exceptional protection CLOUD, working with other security
programs. It is a single scanner, VERY EFFICIENT, if it finds something come back here
or use Google to see how to remove.
    http://www.prevx.com/   <-->

    PCmag - Prevx - Editor's choice
    http://www.PCMag.com/Article2/0, 2817,2346862,00.asp

Also get Malwarebytes - free - use as scanner only. If you ever think malware and that
would be unusual with Avast and occasional Prevx running with the exception of a low level cookie
(not much), to UPDATE and then run it as a scanner. I have a lot of scanners and they
never find anything of note that I started to use this configuration.

  • Microsoft Defender and a rent to own PC commando

I managed to install a version of Norton Internet Security 90 days, although it was not easy with Windows Defender, which hinder the process, even when turned off. I still get messages indicating a Commando of Microsoft Defender blocked the installation of some files which eventually prevents another Norton product installation. The reason is that files duplicate files it uses for protection, but I thought that it has been disabled. When I search a defender of Microsoft , there is no result.
Why is gives me this warning if it is disabled , and how do I proceed and install what I want to install?

I hope that it is coming in your first query for this topic, not days after the suggestions and reading it does mine. Many practical tips and questions have been answered here in this thread for Microsoft Defender Commando. See the thread where seems to be the first request on this issue. HE READ FIRST, THEN READ THIS.

Yes it's true about the rental PC and still have/had on a contract. Inaccuracies or changes made since the last message was published are large and numerous. Just so everyone knows who may be followed, is currently following my, or recently ran across this thread:
    1. as a result, THIS SOFTWARE IS that I read on! It is strangely quiet. You must click on past a warning each time you start or reboot the PC. Obviously the money well spent for the protection of property.

    2. provides geolocation information (after informing you) back to the parent company for the protection of the goods if you attempt to deposit on the contract.

3 can lock you / make the PC unusable for you, until the debt is paid.

4 YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE to MAKE THE PROGRAMMING REMOVED ONCE THE CONTRACT IS.

There have been changes since the original message (you can find them HERE) here in 2011, as legal action and regulation in 2012. And more HERE. And judgments/final orders, if you're curious, HERE:

As noted in the post previous Defender Commando of Microsoft isn't a Microsoft program.
The computer you are using is probably a computer leased or rented at any given time.
You reformat before you install Windows 8?

    Hello

If you use Norton, AVG, Avira, Microsoft Security Essentials, McAfee, etc. the default action is for Windows Defender must be disabled, that these AntiVirus programs have their own Antispyware Applications.

    There is nothing to worry.

Using both programs at the same time can cause system conflicts, etc.

If you are using one of the above AntiVirus programs, this Information from David O - Support Engineer shows you how to manually enable Windows Defender (disregard information from uninstalling; not possible in Vista):

"Go to start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services. Look for Windows Defender.

Right click and select Properties , ensure that Startup Type is automatic.

Once modified, click apply and OK.

Quit and restart your computer. Check the back take the same path to confirm that Windows Defender has started"

If you want to have additional protection against malware using the version FREE of Malwarebytes AntiMalware:

  • What is this pop "microsoft defender commando" that blocks the av installation?

I tried to install norton 360 on my win 7 laptop hp n that it is blocked... wth!

    HI RJ.

If it's only 2 weeks, you probably don't have much new data on this subject yet or the original backup is always available or you could save something new to a disk or drive flash or something.  I would say then restore you to factory conditions and see if that fixes the problem.  If this isn't the case, then SOMETHING is installed from the factory setting and we just need to know what it is.  But one step at a time.  I very, very rarely recommend a restore to fresh from the factory as something close to the first step, but at 2 weeks, it is probably the best choice here.  This means start over again with all the updates, program installations, configurations, networked and everything - and restore backups, if necessary - but that should help determine if it is part of the installation in factory or something that happened since and disappears once restore you.  If it is an infection, this should remove.  If it is a program, then if it appears again, we will proceed as follows (which is also how to suggest you do now if you are not ready to do a factory restore).

If you are not willing to try something this radical yet, it's very well.  Download Belarc Advisor: http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html and he can tell you what programs are installed that do not seem to appear otherwise.  If none look like our guilty, then download Revo: http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html and use it to remove the program completely.  Then see if that solves the problems.  In the meantime, I'll take look closer this particular model.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Popup wouldn't let me close.

I was on a website (may not been the safest) and a popup came. He wouldn't let me go outside by clicking on the red x, but had only two options that says: stay , then leave the page. Leave page button was blue and white stay normal. I clicked on the page of the authorization and the popup went. IM afraid that by clicking on the blue button page let I installed malicious software or provided access to my computer to someone. These are legitamite concerns and if so it would be smart to install something like bit defender?

You have nothing to fear in what concerns by clicking on this button "exit page".

Your best defense is common sense (do not download and install something you do not or that comes from one source other than directly from the website of the developer of the application. Hello

I'm from Germany - but I have not received a response to my problem here at all.
I bought a copy of Windows 7 Pro today, running x 64, installed today & had to erase my XP Pro x 64
version to do. It cost me$ 180! and its giving me all sorts of problems.

First I did as directed, a complete new installation on my new computer built 3 weeks ago
zero using premium parts to halfway "nine".

AMD Phenom II 965 Black Edition
    2 x HD 4890 ATI CrossfireX
    8 GB OCZ DDR3-1333 RAM
    ASUS Crosshair III Formula MB
    2 x WD VelociRaptor HDs (Raid 0)

After installing the operating system and having to enter the key to product twice, he was finally activated
and began the download of updates. Download and then abandoned and gave me a c80003fa
error. Try again a little later, he showed 11 updates, acknowledged the download/install and it
abandoned gives me an c8E5E0442 error. Tried to use the resolution of issue online - returned
an error message cannot run the Problemresolve service. So, I tried looking for update
even once - he showed me the green check mark - computer is up2date. UM, so I thought it was
downloaded and installed the updates. So I checked the updates installed - showed that a
white screen and the OK"" button. So I thought that allows the restart & next to the stop"" button.
He showed the yellow symbol, having installed updates. Then I hit the close button, and
reading displays 'goodbye' 'Installer 1 of 3 updates' - but apparently, he was
hung himself up - waited 20 minutes - nothing's happened yet to 1 of 3 updates, then I hit the
selector. Reset. Since the c80003fa all the time. Cant manually install updates,
can not I install 'MS Security Essentials', or 'any other MS Software' Services.
Windows Defender does not install and I can't activate this service. Behavior
saeemed for me as he treated me like a pirate software, so I did the WGA tool,.
all - no help. Its seems locked. If I press F8 at startup to the top, and then select "load the drivers without.
Authentication "at least my grafics card shows a bird's-eye view. I got the c8E5E0442
error once again in the meantime and a c8000FFFF error. Please someone here in the States
Help me. Sorry for my English and bad translation of system popup text, as I wrote
