"Scratch disk is full" error even if we can't?

Hello world

Quite desperate for help that I have a looming deadline for a project.

When trying to crop in photoshop, I get an error "Could not complete your request because the"scratch disks"is full". It is on a new machine and nothing similar happened to me before. After display of the drive working in photoshop options, this is my C drive which is my OS SSD and has 114 GB of space.

This could be the cause? I'm confused.

Many many thanks to anyone who can help!

Sam

Maybe wrong dimensions specified while monoculture; like the inches instead of pixels. Check to see if this could be what that past...

  • PhotoShop won't boot because "scratch disk is full."

When I try to open PhotoShop 7, I have an error message-"unable to initialize PhotoShop because scratch disks are full."  Troubleshooting messages suggest the defragmentation and disk cleanup - I have these regularly perform a certain amount of time per week - but this doesn't seem to help.  I run Windows Vista with 4xRAM and 2 TB of HDD.  Any thoughts?

If Photoshop won't let you put C or D or both as drive work there may be something wrong with you OS configuration.  Photoshop only allow you to configure the mountable devices as 128GB SD cards don't not assigned as working space of devices from local drive as workspace and will not display even as an option.  If C and D are optional, you should be able to erect in Photoshop "scratch disks".  Photoshop supports up to four "scratch disks".  I have only 3 local devices that can be used as workspace.  Normally, I do not have E: assigned as a work for its disk drive external 4 TB usb3.  But I can assign my all of my local disk for Photoshop zero disk space my brackets mounted cannot be used for the workspace...

  • "Could not initialize photoshop because"scratch disks"is full."

"Could not initialize photoshop because"scratch disks"is full." This is the error message that appears when I try to open my Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0. I just installed this program on my new HP Pavilion model h8-1214, which has 1.8 TB of space with 10.0 GB of RAM. I have read the forums on this problem, but they say how to solve the problem through Photoshop. How can I fix the scratch disk settings without being able to open Photoshop? Please help me with this problem of the Adobe Support team will not even answer my question...

    Thank you.

By far the simplest solution is to upgrade to photoshop elements 10 or newer, which has no problem with big hard drives and has some new features you may like.

It is available for a 30 day trial.

In fact the pse versions 3 and later versions have no problem with large hard drives.

Here are some things you can try that might work:

Option 1: Just after the double click on the PES shortened 2 press the Ctrl + Alt keys and press and hold keys until you get the scratch disk Preferences dialog box

then choose your recovery as the first partition. This only works if you have a recovery partition or another hard drive smaller installed that you can use as the scratch disk.

(I don't have a partition recovery on this computer)

Option 2. Retractable (shrink volume) present HDD up to 1 TB

Option 3: If you have windows 7 pro or ultimate, you can use virtual xp (download from microsoft)

  • THE "SCRATCH DISKS" IS FULL

I can not filled any action while in photoshop because the "scratch disks" is full. I already ran in the Performance preference and allowed the program to use the 7.09 Go I have free space. What can I do else? Need help please, I'm about to throw the laptop through the windows...

This may seem extreme, but given the current prices of the hard drive, I think that simply by adding a second drive (fast) would be the best solution and more fast. And even the least expensive considering the time invested to operate on a disk that is simply too small.

Also note that with Windows, fill no matter which drive over 80-90%, even if it is temporary, falls seriously performance for all applications. Fill your system completely drive could still block your system completely.

  • Scratch disk is full

So, I bought a new PC. My old version of Photoshop 2006 made my needs very well, however, on my new PC - which has a large HD (on a terabyte) - I was unable to save all the images and kept to "scratch disk is full."

I tried pointing to another drive as disc "scratch"... still would not save.

Turn on because the HD is so great, photoshop does not recognize the terabyte as being a real number... surely there should be a solution for this?
Yes, I have to shell out the extra money & probably to buy a newer version, but this one I have Works for me very well. I'm not a technopile. I don't HAVE to have the most current version. I'm happy with mode "if it ain't broke, don't fix.
As the capabilities of computers increase exponentially I would have thought that a simple fix allowing terabyte hard drives would be a fairly simple thing to implement... Yes? None?

What is the exact version of photoshop you have?

In photoshop, go to help > about Photoshop

Versions of Photoshop 7 and greater cannot see hard drives if you have more than 1 TB of free space on them, and so we get the message from scratch the full disc.

  • Cannot answer your request because the "scratch disks" is full

When I try to crop a photo I get this message: could not complete your request because the "scratch disks" is full. In fact a scratch disk has 62 + GB and the other has 52 + GB available. Does anyone have a solution for this?

The disks are already full, or the operation you are trying to use more workspace you have available (as if you crop and forget the resolution value to create a HUGE document).

  • Photoshop does not open because it says that the scratch disk is full

How can I fix it?  The program will not open when I start it.  I start to open and said so immediately scratch disk is full and then closes the program.  How can I fix it?

Without information system, we cannot tell you what exactly is going on. Usuall means what it says - your disks are full or at least not accessible to Photoshop. You could try holding down Ctrl + Alt + shift when you start the program to reset prerequisite information and to define a new location, you should really look into your cleaning system and make room for otehrwise. There are a few tips interspersed here:

  • Could not complete your request because the scratch disk is full

Whenever I try to crop it a picture, I get this.

Could not complete your request because the scratch disk is full.

    Thanks in advance

You entered a resolution in the culture settings, and Photoshop is now resampling the acreage as you asked for it - creating a document too large for your drive to work.   Take the output resolution, or reset the cropping tool.

  • "Scratch disks" Win7 full can not open shop Photo 7

Hi new to win7 and Psalm I bought a machine from AMD core 6 Win7 with 8 g of ram two backup set in Raid 0.

Loaded Phptoshop 7 and it says somethimething on a different volume was necessary.

Image ready PS7 opens very well and I know how to do the work. But when I try to open PS7 it says

""scratch disks"full open cannot PS7. Can someone help me with this?

Photoshop version 7.0 is not really big hard disks.  When he tries to measure the free space that may not face as many as returned by the operating system.  Back in the day of Photoshop 7 a gigabyte was enormous and a terabyte was unknown.

1.5 TB may be too big for her.

Unfortunately, workaround for this is to partition a size smaller it can process.  I'm not sure what the size is (1 TB?).
