Screen glitch

I just bought my computer less than a year ago and in the last two days, my screen became glitch. The image on the screen will start to jump up and down, loses focus and usually enlarges my screen. The problem stop if I squeeze the bottom of my screen on the black plastic. What would be the problem?

Call Dell for a repair under warranty - it could be a number of things, but it will disassemble the system to check.  Let the warranty cover.

I have this laptop for 4 months now, and I was more happy about it. Like 4 days ago the first problem appeared. The screen is randomly glitching when I watch videos for the most part, but also using chrome and sometimes in some video games. They are not more than one second and appear randomly, especially with 5 seconds to a few minutes of time between them. They are not more than 200 px wide, sometimes smaller. I have the feeling that they are better worse every day. I am not in a position right now to update my drivers for the GPU because of my internet, but when I can I'll do it.

  • MBP 12 - hangs at startup and the screen Glitch

    Hello!

My good-condition, end 2012, 15 "MacBook Pro under OS X 10.11.4 is ill. There are two apparently distinct questions:

    • When starting, it does not get passed to Midway as indicated by the gray bar. It crashes and gives the time, periodically warms and turns fans.
    • From the start, the screen has a distinctive glitch superimposed on it that never changes or falters: a series of horizontal blue lines on each fourth-or-so row of pixels.

The problem started by wakes the MacBook to sleep and it gel. Eventually had to hard - reboot, and now here we are.

    I tried:

    • Start in Recovery Mode: (now ⌘R to the boot) hangs on white screen directly after the Apple-logo-and-progress bar screen, not a lot of help.
    • The PRAM reset: (now ⌥⌘PR) unfortunately has no effect.
    • Start in Verbatim mode: (now ⌘V) Always crashes, but it could provide a few tips:

In the image above, you can see the above glitch, the blue lines. (Non-glitchin boot Verbatim is just white on black).

If in any sense, the last printed line is always this:

    en2: promiscuous mode enable succeeded

    More information:

The reason why the boot in Recovery mode does not work maybe because there is no recovery disk partition. When you start while the possibility to select the startup disk, there are only two options: Macintosh HD and BOOTCAMP. Recovery disc or something similar is also meant to appear?

  • E: HP HP Envy screen glitches and freezes when at a certain angle

When my screen is directed through an angle of 90 degrees, my screen either glitch on (colors are reversed, etc.) or sometimes freeze while the screen becomes clearer until it whitens.  When this happens, the only way to fix the screen is to move the screen at a different angle.  Any ideas what is causing this problem and no solution?

    Hey @el1054,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems, with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked into your problem on your HP Envy laptop and having problems starting with lines on the screen. Here is a link to a document that will help you to troubleshoot the image on the screen flickers, has lines or distorted colors.

You have connected a monitor to the laptop to check if it comes to that as well?

If it does not appear on the screen, it could be a connection problem with the LCD screen or the inverter cable.

Note Remove all USB devices. Disconnect all devices of non-essential, as these can cause some problems.

I'd be happy to help you if necessary. How can I find my model number or product number?

Please let me know how it goes.

    Thank you.

  • XPS 10 screen Glitch

The screen on my new XPS 10 keeps glitching out, it behaves as if my finger is to hit the screen in the upper left corner on several occasions. The display shows even the bubble indicator as if I were really not touch. It becomes very annoying when trying to navigate through the device, or web page or whatever it is. Turn the power off and then back on help for a short while but after an hour or two of use (if there is that) he's back. The screen is 100% clean, so I know that is not an influence on my side. This problem occurs if the Tablet is anchored to the keyboard. Help, please.

It could be that the LCD calibration is messed up.    If you use a dock, try to pull the unit out of the docking station and make a suspension/recovery or power cycle to recalibrate the touch.    If this does not resolve the problem, call the technical support and make them Exchange the device for you.   If the feeding cycle fix, at least for a while, there will be an update pushes automatically to all devices on 02/12/13 which should fix the problem permanently.

  • Computer laptop screen glitching pixels? Help?

The screen of my laptop recently, "glitching" in and out of what seems like pixels. They are always a red color and sometimes when I shoot a picture with a lot of black color to it. I have not changed the settings recently, so I'm not sure this one. I thought I could turn to the Microsoft community to answer me. I wasn't able to get a screenshot of what my laptop looks like when this "pixel glitch" arrives, because the "glitch" disappears quickly sometimes. You see where I am confused on this one? Can someone help me? Maybe it's a simple solution that can easily be resolved by changing the settings of the screen?

  • vertical stripes of white screen iMac

I was using my iMac yesterday as usual. Surfing the internet, listening to music via iTunes when suddenly the screen 'glitched '. I got vertical stripes on the screen, the image was broken up and I couldn't communicate with anything. I restarted the iMac and he still had vertical stripes on the screen. I could see the Apple icon and loading bar which has been duplicated/broken upwards on the screen. Once the loading/progress bar has reached 100%, I just got a blank screen. I had to go out and when I came back 5 hours later the iMac has always had the same problem.

    Some of the things I've tried are;

1 leaving it unplugged for a few hours, all reconnect and start the system again (pious).

    2. hold the CMD + SHIFT + R + P after turning the iMac on and then by running the disk on the iMac HD utility. I get a message "this disc needs to be repaired" but unfortunately after clicking on "Repair disk" the slopes of tools a bit before telling me "Disk utility can't repair this disk" (screenshot attached).

I'll try to 'Reinstall Mac OS X' for Mac OS X utility (CMD + SHIFT + R + P), but he told me I couldn't because I was not connected to the internet? I was also worried that it might delete all my files?

Most importantly, I want to do is retrieve the files on the hard drive. I hope that it is possible, although I can't on the desktop, that it looks like I can access the drive in the disc utilities. I heard that I might be able to connect a macbook to the damaged iMac and get the files on it like that? Is it feasible using a Firewire cable?

Cheers, hope someone can share some tips.

  • Boot Camp 6 worm update fails

I recently updated my MBP 9.1 to El Capitan. So far so good!

Now I would like to move my Boot Camp Windows 10 8.1 Windows partition, so in preparation for this, I decided to update Windows in Boot Camp is supported by the software. Here is the page from Apple on the preparation and installation of updates.

He keeps the default.  After almost a minute of "enumeration" messages and screen glitches in short the first clue that something is wrong is that this 'Windows Installer' error message appears.

By clicking on "Close the program" seems to do nothing, but then all of a sudden this error message is displayed.

What is disconcerting, it is that the above path actually exists, and the BootCamp.MSI file is present. I don't know if this is relevant, but when I looked BootCamp.MSIs properties > Details tab the comments field says "Boot Camp 5.1.5621", which does not correspond to "5.0.5033" in the path. (To also note that when I checked the language setting in the registry entry for the Boot Camp a key Services is "DisplayVersion" with a value of 5.1.5621. Hmm)

Search the interwebs for key words in the above error message gives some pretty old forum discussions. Solutions boil down to ensure that no other video drivers or drivers mirror must exist (often cited examples were GotomyPC, VNC, etc.), or as the language setting of the Boot Camp may be wrong in the registry. It was easy to check and to exclude. The video driver thing, I went by uninstalling all programs on my system that could somehow use a mirror driver. Indeed, I have the Air Display installed, so I thought that its uninstallation and removal of Device Manager solves the problem.

    Nope.  Got the same errors.

This is therefore the following message that appears after you click Cancel in the message above.

It seems the background, but I don't know how to react to it. I click on the OK button, the following message appears.

Closing that generates the screen of Boot Camp update saying that the installation was successful.  Fake!

    Any suggestions?

Install Windows 7 and previous versions on your Mac with Boot Camp - Apple Support, drivers for your year/model of Mac to a USB Flash drive. .5621 seems the correct version. Go to Windows and run setup.exe and check if your update is complete. If Windows was installed with the correct drivers for BC, it should already be in place.

If you have already downloaded deja.5621, check Bootcamp.xml for the version of your Mac-specific Bootcamp.msi. I will also check in my BC drivers deposit.

  • I opened a picture with preview and all pixels become white. Is it possible to recover the original image?

I just opened the photo and every pixel in it became white. There is no way to return to a previous version of the image, as if she had initially being that color. The size of the image remains the same, but each pixel is white.

This is the second time that's happened, but the previous one, I was able to recover the deleted original file on my SD card, which is not an option at this time.

I would like to know if there is an app or option on Preview that allows me to recover the original image.

  • Green and purple lines

    Hello

My HP Pavilion g6 - 1207ev is the Green and purple lines on the screen appearing. He started out of the blue, they come ang from time to time, but when they appear, they remain even after it closes down or restart.

    Any piece of advice?

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi @phekal

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

So, it looks like you have intermittent video display problems. I'm happy to help you with this.

When happens the screen glitch happened after the computer has been running for a while, or it is immediately after power-up?

You said the problem recurs after a stop and restart. Is this an immediate restart or you let the system closed for a period of time?

If the computer is stopped, for say half an hour, and then restarted never arrive glitch screen?

I am trying to determine if it seems to happen when the computer is hot and has worked, or if it occurs also on starting cold. If this only happens when the computer is hot or warm, so it suggests a problem of heat or a board failure. If it happens randomly on a boot cold and often does not occur if the computer has been running for a long period, it may be a conflict pilot any.
