  Much appreciate the input.  Understood that the installation of the Arris modem was a coincidence - or perhaps it worsened the situation.  In this case, some of my settings were incorrect, more the old modem that had changed my ISP to was the RCA modem which was not compatible.  I uninstalled my programs and software in the control panel.  Everything works now.

  I'm having a problem where my Skype crashes randomly on my computer at work.

  This is what makes it very frustrating to use. My guess is it's a video driver problem but I downloaded a new driver for it already.

  Hello!
  I have a problem, when using Skype and call Skype crashing or Yuri.

  I surfed on this forum and don't try anything I can, no chance.

  So I reinstalled Skype

  Remove database db Skype... something.

  Updated all my drivers, graphics card, motherboard and so on.

  I did a DxDiag file and also looked in the event viewer.

  I have Windows 7 as operating system.

  Can someone help me? Nothing, that I read in this forum workes for me. Maybe try a different viersion? Someone knows a good version?

  So, I decided to get Skype today so I could discuss with my friends. I launched the Skype app first, and it says that the connection failed. So I decided to get the desktop version of Skype. I downloaded, installed and it worked fine. I registered and signed with success, when all of a sudden it appears with an error message Skype has stopped working and windows is checking for a solution. It is then implemented with windows can not find a solution. I thought I'd better try again, so I did and it happened again. I have decided to re - install Skype and restart my computer.   Skype on my computer crashes after it's open for awhile. On my laptop which is also Win10 I have no problem with Skype, it seems to only be on this desk. The first file is the notification I get when it crashes. The second file is the DxDiag file. I tried all the basic methods for burst, restart my computer, uninstall then reinstall of Skype. It dosent seem to work. I don't know if its needed but here are the features of my computer.

  Skype crashes because of conflict with AVerMedia RECentral application. I guess that the fact to uninstall this application will solve the problem.

  Recently, my Skype crashing and freezing my PC when I make or accept a call, so the only thing I could do was to reset my computer.   Skype crashes for one of us just after the login for a given Microsoft account screen. (It works fine but the other one of us who has a Skype account.)

  Computer: 10 64-bit Windows. Windows Update reports things as up-to-date and steam makes the video as drivers being the most recent available.

  The problem with the latest version of Skype 7 but also with Skype 6.14. I tried every solution I could find on the threads of the community that talks about Skype crashing just after the connection, or Skype crashing on d2d1.dll, without modification. The problem also occurs on a newly created window account.

  I have a big problem with my Skype, whenever I try to call someone or someone is trying to call me the Skype everything crashes and shortly after that my computer just hangs. Has happened and more that I have months and hopefully the last update of Skype could remedy, but it didn't.
