  • Script for crops only only pages portrait or landscape

    I need apply the settings from a different culture for the landscape and portrait pages in a document. The document runs to a thousand pages for a manual any solution is not viable.

    I know Acrobat allows only the crop tool to be applied selectively to the odd and even pages and not pages portrait and landscape.

    I understand that a script can achieve what I'm trying to do. Unfortunately, the script is outside my area of expertise.

    I'll be very grateful if anyone who knows how can give me a helping hand.

    Thank you!

    This is a basic script that should do it:

    var i, aRect1, nWidth, nHeight;

    To loop through all the pages

    for (var i = 0; i)< numpages;="" i="" +="1)">

    rect1 = getPageBox ("Crop", i);  Get the current rect of the page

    nWidth = rect1 [2] - rect1 [0];  Calculate the width of the page

    nHeight = rect1 [1] - rect1 [3];  Calculate the height of the page

    If (nHeight > = nWidth) {/ / Portrait/square pages}

    rect1 [0] += + 2.5 * 72;  Left 2.5 "

    } else {/ / landscape pages}

    rect1 [0] += 3.5 72;  3.5 left. "

    rect1 [1] = 1.0 72;  Top 1.0 '.

    rect1 [2] = 3.5 * 72 / / right 3.5;

    rect1 += [3] 0.5 72;  Low 0.5 "

    }

    Crops page

    setPageBoxes ("Crop", I, I, rect1);

    }

    You can run this in the console JavaScript interactive (Ctrl + J), a temporary bookmark, link, or button, or a custom action.

  • How can I recover only odd or even number of records in the table?

    Hello

    How can I recover only odd or even number of records in the table?

    Thank you

    Hi IndiMinds,

    Alternatively, you can use in queries. :

    Odd:

    SELECT *.

    Of

    (SELECT rownum row_count, id, name FROM bigemp

    )

    WHERE mod (row_count, 2) = 1;

    Still:

    SELECT *.

    Of

    (SELECT rownum row_count, id, name FROM bigemp

    )

    WHERE mod (row_count, 2) = 0;

  • Odd and even pages

    Hello, need help on the xdp I work there.

    The xdp has 1 Page Set - set to print on both sides.

    The first master page is odd Pages (recto pages).

    The second master page is the same Pages (pages back).

    There is not a lot of logic in the Pages it is static information.

    The content on odd pages (front) grow flow and the page based on the XML data I feed into it. I explicitly put the content through the content are the odd page (front) only. Problem is when data is broken, he always puts a record or two on the content area of the page even (back).

    In addition, I was hoping that when there is an odd page (before), I guess that she would always be an even page (back), but this is not the case. Sometimes the end of pages on the odd-numbered Page.

    I want to share the xdp and the xml code that I'm working on this announcement. Is there a way to download this information. Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    The problem is that when you have repeating objects they will continue in the container as new instances are added. When the page overflows, Acrobat/Reader creates a new instance of the page, in which new instances of the extensible object may be returned.

    I had an example earlier that "jumped" a section, but in reality what he was doing was when the first page was full, he began using a similar rehearsal on page3. It is here, but you will have carefully the script, as it was not annotated: https://acrobat.com/#d=0-YvJ8UcVW7Pyc4hhg3RmQ. It's a little something approximate, based on the height of the subform (see the click event of the button Add to page 1).

    You may also be able to get a conditional page break to work if the height of the rows was always the same.

    Hope that helps,

    Niall

  • 5.6 pages | Different headers for odd and even pages

    My neighbor has 5.6 Pages and may not know how to format the document in order to have even pages and odd different headers. I am using Pages 08 and this version has a parameter "Pages are different." However, I can't find this 5.6 Pages feature.

    Is this possible in 5.6? If so, can someone tell me how, I can help him out?

  • How can I add different page headers on odd and even pages?

    Hello.

    I use Indesign CS5.5 to create a printed book. I would like to add a page for every even page header and a different page header to every odd page. And have the ability to hide the header on some pages. Someone knows how to do this?

    Thanking you.

    You must create a master page, spread to the side of the pages. If you apply this all of your pages, items that you apply to the master will then be applied to each of your pages. If you want to include dynamic elements, (e.g. Page number) you can do going on Type > insert special character > markers > current Page number.

    All the pages you do not want the header on, you cannot apply the master page.

  • Different margins for odd and even pages

    Hi all

    Is there a way that we can change the margins on the PDF based on the number of page. Odd pages say have the margin set to 2.45 cm while the odd pages only to 1.6 cm? Thank you!

    We use Documaker Studio 12.3.

    There is nothing in the Documaker PDF driver that's going to change the margins for you. Assuming that you cannot design forms with desired margins (e.g. for printing of transactional document), then your best bet is to find a third-party tool that will adjust the PDF file after it is generated by Documaker. Personally, I don't know of a tool that does this, but a Google search may help you find a tool that meets your needs. For example, I found the following which suggests to use GhostScript to add margins - pdf - how I automatically add a margin to each pair page?-Graphic Design Exchange of battery

    I hope this helps.

  • How to set the different texts in the odd and even pages?

    I often need to design books of bilingual poetry (CS4) (same page, french; odd, English page), but all the methods I've tried are unnecessary.

    Applied only master pages; used an image from the film in one and two master pages; the layers together, etc.

    Of course, it is possible, first of all, that flows throughout the text and remove immediately, one by one, the odd frames; Secondly, it flows towards manually text, page to page, in the odd-numbered pages. But it's a waste of time when 400 pages are up to the task

    (I consulted the powerful Real World Indesign: O. Martin and D. Blatner or InDesign Secrets blog buy my search was not clever/erased at all)

    The short version is easy. Put a facing document pages and DON 'T control block of text type. Then go to the spread of master and draw the blocks of text on both left and right of the pages, but don't screw. AUTOFLOW will only fill one side or the other and add full spreads as necessary to access the next page in this position.

  • How to export only odd pages / pair only in PDF format

    I finished a press work whose copy was only on odd pages with a design on even pages (even on pages anyway). After that it was complete, the client decided they wanted a copy with only the odd pages to display on a screen at an event. I was looking for a way to export a PDF of only odd pages, but did not find. It was easy to do with printing in PDF format - here I could print only odd or even pages, or just not to print blank pages (after the removal of the content from the master page even side). Here, I learned that you should always use export instead of printing in format PDF - is - it possible (easy) to accomplish this task with export?

    Here is a link to an effective method to clear unwanted in Acrobat pages:

  • How to specify the master page according to odd or even first page

    We have implemented our books to delete empty pages and we have chapters starting both odd and even pages. In addition, the first pages of our chapters are formatted differently than in the rest of the left and right Master pages. We would like to have two Master pages for the first page of the chapter, one for odd pages and one for the same, so that we can compensate for the margins, leaving more room on the side of the link.

    My question is how do I set up the book so that it generates when, if the chapter starts on an odd page, it automatically applies the master page by odd pages first and when the first page is the same, it applies to the master page by same first pages?

    We have 8 FramMaker and run on Windows XP Professional.

    Thank you

    Tim

    Tim,

    It depends on your book settings. If the next chapter is set to start on a right-hand page, then if the previous chapter ends on an odd page (e.g. law), FM has for add a left page. Book settings always take precedence over the settings of files. You must specify a page available next to the level of the book for all the files (after the first chapter) If you want transitions smoothly with none of the additional pages being inserted. However, you may have a few chapters from the left side, so make sure that you have both a left and right first master page defined and used in your mapping table.

  • Why my MacBook Air only recognizes all other pages when I try to print pages?

    I have a MacBook Air. Recently, when I typed a letter page 6 pages and tried to print from files, print, it only showed that I had 3 pages, while in the Pages document, I got 6 pages. The computer would print only 3 pages on 6. I did have this problem in the past, most recently. I don't know what I can do about it. He seems not to recognize that all of the other pages. It is not my printer. That's what the MacBook Air shows when I select Print. Only 3 of the 6 pages, even pages shows all 6 pages.

    Any thoughts on how to solve this problem?

    Be more specific.

    It show 3 successive pages or only odd or even?

    If it is the latter which is a parameter in the dialog box print which may be saved as a preset.

  • How to print double-sided in In Design when certain sections have an odd number of pages?

    I'm new to In Design and I'm doing something that seems pretty basic and the difficulty in finding ways to do it and I have not found anything in the Adobe Forum or online that responds to this situation.

    I'm working on a document that is divided into sections, with page numbering starts at Page 1 for each section.  I have mirror image layouts for odd pages and even masters - for example, the page number is on the left on even pages and to the right of the odd pages, as you would expect generally to see on a double-sided print, where in a workbook or a workbook, the even-numbered pages are on the left and odd pages are on the right.

    I print the document from my computer to a printer that supports double-sided printing.  I don't see any option in the file / print window to two face impression, so I put this option on the printer itself by using the [Setup...] button at the bottom of the window.  It works - I'm printing on both sides of sheets of paper.

    For the moment, the first section is 3 pages (two blocks spread with the first page, one with the other two).  The next starts of section by number 1 on the third page spread (one page) and continues then a two-page spread - as expected.

    That is the problem - the first page of the second section is printing on the back of the last sheet of the first section, rather than on a new sheet from the front - so when I put it in a binder, the odd pages are on the same pages on the right and the left.  Whenever I have reached the end of another section with an odd number of pages, she rotates on itself again.

    There is a workaround solution manual I found - browse the document and add a blank page at the end of each section that has an odd number of pages (and check "print blank Pages).  But I have to do every time I feel that I am adding new pages and add/remove blank pages the number at each change of sections.

    I can't believe that In Design does not provide a way to make this work correctly, I'm sure a lot of people have had this same situation, and I hope it is something simple that just, I have not been able to understand...

    Help! (Thanks!  B ^)

    Frankly, it's a feature of the years, I tried, and I expect a professional page layout application to have. Something on the order of "duplex respect page layout." It would be very useful when printing only part of a document that happens to start with a page of pairs.

    I do catalogs in the sections, and each section begins with a left page. When duplex printing a section given, I must print this page first separately and duplex then the rest. Kind of pain and should not be necessary.

  • Script to move all items on each page

    I'm quite new to scripting, but I'm trying to write a script to select all elements on each page and shift the X values and are specified. The script works but only seems to move 1 point on each page, I know it's probably something really simple and I was wondering if anyone here could point me in the right direction?

    This causes the:

    for (a = myPages-1; a>=0;
    a--)
    {
    app.activeDocument.pages[a].pageItems.everyItem().select();
    app.selection[0].move (null, positions)
    }

    You are 'select' objects but only moving one...

    In normal circumstances, you should use 'select' in a script - you can 'target' any object immediately. And even if you did have something selected, all objects will move again! Change for this, I have not tried, but it should make it work:

    for (a=myPages-1; a>=0; a--)
    {
      app.activeDocument.pages[a].pageItems.everyItem().move (null, positions);
    }

  • Place items only on the first page

    Hi Forum,

    I m wondering if I can place my library assets.item (0) only on the first page.

    Because the script below place assets in the library, when I click on a particular page...

    Instead, when I run the script, the assets must be placed on the first page...

    Is this possible... I tried this way... but does not work...

    PG = app.activeDocument.pages.item (0);

    myRect = pg.rectangles.add (); (I tested with the addition of rectangles on the first page, it works)

    var Lib = app.libraries [0] .assets [0] .placeAsset [pg] [0];

    Thanks for the help forum...

    Shil...

    need to select as you have already saved the obj in myObj

    var currDoc = app.activeDocument;

    var myObj = app.libraries [0] .assets [0] .placeAsset (currDoc) [0];
