Hello

I want to search in a table (dual 64 - bit) for a negative/s number and replace it with a zero.

How can I get a name of table 1, column A, if column B is a negative number and insert the names of table 2?

What is the formula?

You can do this with a column of "index" in table 1, as this assistance:

The formula in C2, filled to the bottom:

IF (B =<>

That increments a counter each time that it finds a negative number in column B.

In the second table, you can retrieve a list of negative values in this way:

The formula in A2, filled to the bottom:

= INDEX (array 1::A, CORRESPONDENCE (LINE (−1, Table 1::C), 0))

It takes the line number, the formula is activated, subtracts 1 to the header line and look up the result in the column of table 1 C. If it finds a match, it feeds the line number to the INDEX page with retrieves the value of the column of table 1A.

To hide the red triangles of signage wrap the IFERROR formula, like this:

= SIERREUR (INDEX (table 1::A, CORRESPONDENCE (LINE (−1, Table 1::C), 0)),"")

Of course, you can also simply filter on column B without the need to set up a column from another table or index.

• editing a table to add the number of columns fails with ORA-01792

I'm editing a table to add columns, and ORA-01792 receiver: maximum number of columns in a table or view is 1000. The table of the altar will be no more than 1000 columns. The environment is RHE5 Oracle 11.2. ALTER statement adds a lot of columns in the table, but when I do a manual change to add a dummy column it works, after that, if I run the original the change works!

What is a table compressed with unused columns?

This may explain the error with the limit of 1000.

Hello

Ok. You have your point, sorry...

As I wrote - VBA do not know, but as JS, it could be like this:

var
doc = app.activeDocument, destCell, currFile, currRec, currImage, i,
mVarA = doc.textVariables.item("variableA"),
mVarB = doc.textVariables.item("variableB"),
mVarAinst = mVarA.associatedInstances,
len = mVarAinst.length;

while (len-->0) mVarAinst[len].associatedTextVariable = mVarB;

mVarAinst is an array of instances of varA ==> no need to search through all doc

• How can I change the registry values with a common search for the string and replace the function where I don't do all manually?

Due to problems of space with my installation of XP Pro, (operating system has been installed on a 4 GB partition and I did have a copy of the OS to do a new installation) I am trying to move a number of files on a mounted drive.

It is a way to search an entire record of [SPECIFY FOLDER] "C:\Program Files\" instances and replace each with "C:\Program Files\Overflow\ [SPECIFY FOLDER]" as a common discovery replace function?

Also, I'll have to move several "Common Files" files in the mounted folder 'Overflow '. The method to make learning one should help me to do both. Manually, it will take most of thousand years that all the files in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Components
the files seem to have a key value have changed.

I have already uninstalled and reinstalled some programs at the desired location, but many still use the "Common files" folder despite my having already changed the default installation directory path in the registry. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

One way:

1. Start Regedit (start-> Run-> 'Regedit')
2. Select the branch of the registry, or you are interested in changing.
3. The export of this branch of the registry (file-> export) in a ".reg" file
4. Use a programming editor (for example, the freeware Notepad ++) and use the "Find and replace" function to make the changes you want. Save the modified file.
5. After making the changes, double-click the .reg file to fold changes in your registry.

As always, keep a backup of your original registry in case things get really bad and know how to do to restore this backup your machine should not be able to start.

• GREP search and replace question

Jin

Here's my problem,

I have a huge list with names, each name is one or more words, divided by a space,

each name is divided by a tab.

now I want to do the following, each tab 7 should turn into a return.

so eventually I'll end up with a list of 7 names in a row.

now, it looks like this:

name [tab] name [tab] [tab] [tab] name name name [tab] [tab] [tab] name, name [tab] [tab] [tab] name, name [tab] [tab] name [tab] [tab] [tab] [tab] name

This should be:

name [tab] name [tab] [tab] [tab] name name name [tab] [tab] name [ENTER]

[tab] name [tab] [tab] [tab] name, name [tab] [tab] name [ENTER]

[tab] [tab] name

Thank you!!

It's perfectly doable! It should work: search

(([^ \t]+\t){6}[^\t]+)\t))

and replace with

$1

It looks like any sequence of any number of non-a-tab, followed by a tab, all in a group of 6 and followed by another sequence of not-a-tabs and then a final tab which is going to be the little pig is not to go to the market today.

• Why not Win 7 search easily or reliably find files from subfolder and file specified?

I've been using Windows for a while now, since version 2.x. I am currently using Windows 7 64 bit. I need to find a file. Not exactly rocket science. Let's say it's fichier.ext. I know that one or more copies of filename.ext reside inside or under C:\folder\subfolder1.

So I open C:\folder\subfolder1 in Windows File Explorer. I press {COMMAND} + {e} for the search box and type filename.ext, then {ENTER}. The search returns 99 items. Unfortunately, 98 of them are not named fichier.ext. It sucks, but whatever. 98 results for the most part irrelevant are sorted by ascending file name. UH... I know by running DIR/s that there are actually 7 files named filename.ext residing in these subfolders. But Windows 7 search gave only 1 of them. The resolution of the problems of research said that everything was fine. All seem to have file system permissions. So here I am with 1 relevant result and literally 98 irrelevant results. It sucks. The files are not hidden. ATTRIB shows that they hear only the flags of A (rchive). I can find no reason why search gave no relevant results 98, yet returned only 1 of 7 planned relevant results. No, I'm starting to do this just to write a rant on the search for Win 7. I wanted just to finish a task, which would have been relatively easy in all previous versions of Windows, I used.

Given that the search for C:\folder\subfolder1 does not work, I try searching for C:\. Guess what. 43 items returned, and only 34 of the results are irrelevant. From C:\, search found 7 all the relevant files. It's a Festivus miracle! But how a top-level folder got no less relevant results, but most relevant results doesn't make much sense.

16% of the relevant results are grouped because they are sorted by filename ascending. Now, the company, right? I want the full path and the name of each of the 7 compliant files that I know exist. Who do not ask too, right? Except that there is no way to copy the text in the column of the file. And the text in the folder column is absurd anyway. The folder column shows "subfolder5 (C:\Folder\Subfolder1\Subfolder2\Subfolder3\Subfolder4). Why on Earth is subfolder5 on the left? And there is no place I can copy the path. OK, no problem, I'll just do a right click and open the file location. In fact I use {SHIFT} + {F10}, {i} instead of Right-Click, but it's because I have old habits when there was usually effective ways of doing things in Windows using the keyboard.

Thus, opens the folder containing my first relevant result. {ALT} + {d} which brings me to the address bar, where I already have the full path. Now I just type "\" and the first characters of the file name and it completes automatically. {COMMAND} + {a}, {COMMAND} + {c} and it is all copied to the Clipboard. Yay, I got my first string path\filename successfully, so I can really accomplish something. I launch an instance of Notepad and paste it in for later use. Now back to my remaining 6 to search relevant results... Hmmm... {ALT} + {left} does nothing. Focus changes often without apparent reason in Win 7 files and the Search Explorer, which prevents the work strikes. So I move the mouse and click the left arrow to go back to my 6 other relevant results. That's when I find that search threw all the results. I have to wait while it does search through each file under C:\. Ugh.

In an effort to avoid having to search several times C:\ 5 times more unnecessarily for fichier.ext, I'm thinking maybe I can click the button start and try to type here, let semi-automatic paths as I type the content of the column of the file. It does not, because the start menu obscures my 7 relevant results. I later I knew that even if they are hidden, I could select the relevant 7 of 99 total results and the selection color stick while the start menu hidden items in the name column. But in the end, the fastest way to get the 7 paths was actually copy via the mode prompt QuickEdit on DIR /S FILENAME command. Results of the EXT. I mean, really?

Windows search cannot locate surely known names of files in a subfolder that is known? Win7 search not only gave me 98 irrelevant results, but also failed to find 6 of the 7 specified files. How screwed is that? But DIR/s gave me no irrelevant results at all and find files with 100% reliability. Does this strike anyone as being a little... uh... bad?

Find names of files specified in a specified subfolder does not appear as a rare user scenario. Simply how to find a record of a known file in a known subfolder name seems ridiculously too complicated in Windows 7.

Now, there is a _ a lot of good things on Win 7. My favorite features are probably support for multiple processors, accident of insulation, and the incredible improvements in design and material compatibility layer makes this Win 3.x prey. But please, I seriously hope that someone will take a look at some of the pieces of this real scenario common and try to improve things in a future service pack or something? Pretty please?

Noel, thanks for the great suggestion! I * never * would have discovered the ' file name: ' filter with the help of Windows.

I had no idea that there was a search syntax. It seems totally weird to me that the add a drop-down list box filter search doesn't give IU for update and size filters. I think that corresponding filename deserves its own button there and something to direct users to this overview of query language syntax.

It's really great to know adding "leader:" to restrict the results to only compliant file names. I am completely floored that it is completely impossible. I would * NEVER * have discovered that the link of query syntax. There is no link between the search Help topics. Windows Search 4.0 is somewhat a component name internally. As an end-user of Windows 7, I consider that the search for files to be an integral part of the operating system. I would have never thought to search for help on "Windows Search 4.0". FYI - I just went to the research, a help file topic or a folder and a suggestion to make a link to the news of search query to win 4 left.

I fiddled with the columns, remove the folder column and replacing it with the much more logical folder path column. I was happy to find that the next time I opened a search for C:\, the path of the folder column persisted.

When I search libraries, I have the search box offers some filters, like, Date of modification, Type, name, path, Tags. This never was told to the "queue:" filter that I needed. The "name:" filter only appears when searching for my libraries, do not then the research to another part of my drive. Research on "name:filename.ext" returns all files where {(extention == «ext») & (filename contains "filename")}, for example, returns 'fu_filename.ext', 'filename_bar.ext', 'fu_filename_bar.ext', etc.

In the results, the context menu doesn't give me a copy as path option. The closest I can find is going to file properties, I can manually copy the contents of the location.

Rest of questions that I hope THAT MSFT would consider to improve:

1. "file name:" filter is totally impossible, causing in search of filename otherwise quick to take minimum two times longer, useless due to analysis of the content of the file.

2. DIR /S C:\FILENAME. EXT runs twice faster than Win with essential Search but impossible ' file name: ' filter, often up to 8 times faster than without the discoverable ' filename: ' filter.

3. DIR /S C:\FILENAME. POST do not clutter results with files whose content contains the string.

4. DIR /S C:\FILENAME. Reliable EXT returns all the relevant results.

5. I can copy each path of results returned by DIR /S C:\FILENAME. POST in a single step (with QuickEdit active guest).

It's not too terribly demanding to expect a file search v7 o/s to at least on par with the performance and ease of use of a query of type MS-MS-DOS age 30 is?

• (GREP)? for search and replacement of para returns before a lowercase letter

Does anyone know an automatic technique (GREP?) to find and replace para returns occurring before a letter lower case and replacing it with a space (IE to join broken paragraphs). I can currently find these occurrences, but 'change' in the grep search replaces the real lowercase letter as well as the break of Pará.

• How to get out a subset in front and behind a number that your search in a table.

Hello

A search gives me nothing so I apologize if it's there somewhere and I'm not. I'm using LabVIEW 7.1 and seeks an array for a given value. Once I found this value in the table, I want to take the 51 values with the one I found in the research at the Center. Is there an easy way to do this? The current way I'm doing it is by using the table search and seizure then the index in the array with a length of 51 subset function. Of course, I want to get the points of 25 data before and 25 after what I searched, and not 50 after. What is the most effective way to do it? I should fork by the index of my result of research into two table vi. One being the 25 index and the index and then set the length of these two sub-tableau at 25? Thanks for any advice regarding the case. Sam

Why don't you just subtract 25 from the index that your value is found and use it as an index for the subset of the table starts? You will have to do the situation where your desired value is less than 25 points, but that should be fairly easy depending on how you want to manage.

• ADF LOV-> UI: main table showing the fields ID and not the search values

Hello
I am very new to the development of the ADF and will have a simple question that I can't solve.

Using Oracle JDeveloper 11.1.2.0.0 I create my views and objects of entity without incident. I have an entity object that has several "search values" (these are all optional references to foreign keys to tables 'children'). Objects and relations are perfectly mapped the ADF.

In the views of child object I created the list UI tips
-Type: Combo box with list values
-the "selected" column is the "description" of the research

in the editable display object, I traced the fields 'id' to use the predefined LOVs.

This works as expected in the user interface, I created with an ADF table can be updated.

However (here's the noob question), the "id" is displayed in the search on the table column. When I click the menu drop-down I can see the description, etc, but for a professional user when they look at the table, they see an unfriendly identification number.

How can I get the part of the LOV display to show the description, while remaining linked to the ID of the parent entity.

for example, it shows
Country             LOV1        LOV2     LOV3
United States     15           18           2
while I want to display:
Country             LOV1            LOV2       LOV3
United States     Washington  Seattle     Rain
If this has been answered several times or walk through there, sorry for the redundant question, I simply can't find a solution!

Hello

There are several ways to do this, you simply need an additional outputText next to the lov component field to display the value of the description.

If you search the forum or adf blocks, you'll find several implementations.

And here's one: http://andrejusb.blogspot.com/2010/06/lov-description-text-with-groovy.html

-call a func/proc that iterate through all items in the current block and check if it is an element of type NUMBER, and then set the color

I've never faced such a problem...
because I've never needed Set_item_instance_property...

but as I said before... Visual attributes of multi records issues... (you can do to solve these problems, but for that you must hardcode data)...

and regarding when-validate-point... it is not good to use validation triggers to change the Visual attribute...
post-text-item is much better solution...

and if you say that you do not want to put the names of columns hard... you can send: system.cursor_item to the proceedings too... but it's better on post-text-point...

-------------------------------------------
as for me, I never need such things, because I have a table consist of all the names of element for each forms... (I use this for the purposes of the doublespeak) request to change labels and tooltips on the duration for each form, according to the chosen user language...

• SQL to change the negative number to positive number

My apologies for the no doubt high 'thick-as-a-Board' nature of my request.

Is it possible to convert a negative number by a positive value using SQL. I have a report that joins the 2 tables and I want to join the tables on a field 'amount '. Problem, is that in the 1 table QTYs are negative, and in another QTYs are positive. I know that this is in itself is a stupid thing to do, but anyway.

I was just wondering if there is a simple way to get positive number versions of numbers:
GET sampledata
WITH sampledata AS
(SELECT -345 var_num
FROM DUAL
UNION ALL
SELECT -423423
FROM DUAL
UNION ALL
SELECT -323.5
FROM DUAL)
SELECT *
FROM sampledata;
Any advice much appreciated.
