    Method 1:

    You can check if the windows service install is present under services and check if the service is set to automatic. You can follow the procedure.

    (a) click Start.

    (b) type services.msc in start search.

    (c) search the Windows Installer Service and click on select Start.

    (d) on the general tab, next to Startup type, make sure that Automatic is selected.

    I also suggest you to see the steps and check.

    Unregister and register the Windows Setup program again

    1. click on Start, click run, type MSIEXEC /Unregister. and then click OK. Even if you do it right, it may seem that nothing is happening.

    2. click on Start, click run, type MSIEXEC/REGSERVER, and then click OK. Even if you do it right, it may seem that nothing happens, or you can briefly see an hourglass. After you run this command, the operation is complete.

    Try your application based on Windows Installer again.

    Method 2:

    I have my SP3 installed correctly and successfully, after I reinstalled my Windows XP using my recovery disks approximately two weeks on my laptop. Since then, thei update offers not even after that you stop it and restart the computer. But even I accepted and installed it, this offer comes just after a few minutes.

    First of all, you can hide the update as it has already been installed.

    Follow these steps to do so.

    a. click Start and select Control Panel.

    b. click on Windows Update and click the updates available.

  • When I scan for Windows Vista Service Pack update (published 4/2009) comes in,

    I redid my computer a few months ago restore to factory settings and restore my files from a backup disk. Everything seemed to work properly.  A few weeks ago a full scan found a worm & some virus which I removed. Now, I have a problem with the updates. When I scan for Windows Vista Service Pack update (published 4/2009) arrives.  When I click to install it, it is saying it is correctly installed (in 30 seconds) and yet he continues to come when I'm scanning for updates.    Should I restore settings again?  After looking for info on the forums of windows, I did the System File Checker to check corrupt files.  Several corrupted files appear in the details of the SFC.  But their fixation is "over my head".   I glued the SFC details below.   • I can't install the update for Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (KB936330). I get error code 800F081F & dt000.

    I have a T410 with NVS 3100 M, using a HD TV for monitor via a DVI-HDMI cable.

    Answering my own question... changed the resolution under the NVIDIA control panel update settings in HD, 1080 p, 1920 x 1080 (recommended) at 50 Hz SD and it seems to fix the problem. Previously it was set at PC 1920 x 1080 (native) at 60 Hz refresh.

    I'm trying to update the laptop from a friend.  It is a Windows XP Pro, Version 2002, SP 2.  It is an OEM installation.  It's a Dell, Inspiron E1705.  OEM support site is not active.  The laptop took all Office 2007 updates and XP updates perfectly, including Windows Genuine Advantage, with the exception of SP3.  I download, but "failed" on the installation.  I don't know why.  Search the error code "0x8007F0CC" returns nothing.

    Any advice would be appreciated.
