Send back replacement pre? Help!

Hey there Palm support community!

Friday night, my pre acted a little funny. The screen was not light well push the power button or by sliding the keyboard. I removed the battery and started the phone up and it worked for a bit, but then began to show the same question once again. I took it to my local Sprint store and they said they would send me a replacement. I was told that when I get it, I have to pass on the phones and then send back my phone (the one defective of course) to Palm. I had to do it in a certain period of time, otherwise I would be charged a massive amount on my next Bill.

It was Friday night and now I'm spent the entire weekend without getting into trouble. Apparently, I took the lead a little bit trying to inmates. I called Sprint today and asked if they could cancel the order because my pre works fine now, and I prefer to keep it rather than put her out. The woman told me that it is not possible to cancel the order. I then asked him would it not normal that when I get the replacement before, I simply refer to Palm and keep my phone.

She said that would be OK, but I just wanted to come here and to confirm. I guess the 'tax' would be the retail price of the pre and there is no chance that I'm going to pay for one, because I did not follow a replacement procedure. Thank you!

As it is a question of policy of sprint, you can call the store you did replacing by. I don't know that it will be fine if you send the replacement unit to them and keep your.
