Send SMS with Wifi (iPhone 6)

I'm in a restaurant with no cellular service, but they have wifi.  I can't send a message to a droid.  What technical problems that prevent?  Seems to me that once you get the text (data) on a network, it should be able to be converted (if necessary) and delivered to a number?  What Miss me?  Thank you

SMS (text messages) use the cellular signal. Only the Apple iMessage can send messages to other Apple devices using data other than cell phones.

  • Can I send sms with Skype overview?

    I saw Skype on my windows 10... but is it possible to send SMS with Skype preview because they said it's free... but I can't?

    Not at the moment, but let me clarify that:

    Before the update birthday you could send both SMS and Skype IM Messenger + Skype app, it stopped, and I think as functionality of it will go to Skype (we assume the application overview, but it may not be called that forever).

    You can of course always send SMS from your PC using Cortana sends using your phones SMS service.

    You can send SMS via Skype, but it currently costs money, so you need Skype credit or a subscription that included text Messages (not seen one of those).

  • Send SMS with android phone and also using iPad

    I have a (Galaxy Note4) Android phone and an iPad (4th generation, just before the series of 'Air').

    I use a lot of text messaging and really wish I could get my texts on the two devices using the android phone number.  In the past, I used an application called "TextNow" which assigns you a unique number and number synchronization with two devices from the app store from Apple or Google Play. It worked well... I would get all my texts on two fairly transparent devices.

    I also watched Google Hangouts and the possibility of having multiple devices receiving the texts had been "fixed" in a recent update Hangouts. Thus, Hangouts no longer allows multiple devices of different platforms to access the texts on the same number.

    My question is... are at - it application in both the app store and google game that will allow you to send and receive texts using the mobile number rather that having to generate a new number?

    I'm not aware of something that doesn't require the other party to also have the same application, something like WhatsApp. The ability to text on the iPad is dependent on the connection device to an iPhone, because it uses the iPhone to send text. You can simply send the texts to the iPad.

As the Irish does not seem to be an available language is it possible I can do this as if the game input language is English accents can be selected by pressing the letter and scroll through the options, but when I send the message, they disappear immediately and do to appear in the message addressed to me. Thank you

    Try this:

    go to the sms messages window, click the menu button, click options.  Set the data to UCS2 encoding

  • sending sms with commands, difference between hyperterminal and visa

    Hi all

    I want to use my phone mobile access to content by using commands. When I type the command in hyperterminal, it works, but when you send it through LabView rs232 instead of 'OK', I get the same that I just sent. What is the difference between sending tanks into HT and visa?

    When I type (in HyperT)

    AT, I get

    Ok

    When I send

    AT (in LabView) get

    AT

    ??

    You send a stop character? Use \n for a newline or \r for a carriage return. Your order/string constant must be defined '-' display of Codes for it to work. Look at the example of basic series to write and read.

  • SMS via WiFi Port?

    I have a 12 year old son who does not seem to get the message about what is material for text messaging. He made his text messages on an iPod Touch (no cell phone), so he goes on the wifi. Is there a port dedicated this iMessage uses to send sms via wifi I can simply disable to block this activity? Thank you!

    Maybe, try to set a Port forward and entered one of these ports #s and point to a ghost IP address, try 192.168.1.250.

    Hello

    you make a mistake here. You try to use setData for _dc DatagramConnection making

    There are not. You will need to set to the d datagram. Here's your corrected code:

    _DC = (DatagramConnection) Connector.open (_openString);
    data Byte [] = msg.getBytes ();

    Datagram d = _dc.newDatagram (_dc.getMaximumLength ());
                  d.setData (data, 0, data.length);

    d.setAddress ("/ /" + ADR + ' "'");
    _DC. Send (d);

    Are these people that you send using iPhones or iPad?  iMessage is Apple free internet e-mail service and works in Apple devices, but not just iPhones. If someone has an iPad only and uses an iMessage account on the iPad, then they can't get SMS text (unless they pair the iPad with an iPhone).  iPads cannot natively receive or send SMS texts.

  • My Iphone / imessage / facetime continues to send sms without authorization

    Hello

    I use the Apple as the Iphone products for centuries. Eversince I have spend provider to another (which has no contract with apple), my custody Iphone sms sending abroad without knowing me, until I receive my Bill.

    All messages are a number in the United Kingdom. I tried to find out which application is causing the problem. To read other users ' questions, I guess that's iMessage.

    I use my phone for sms not talkative iMessage. All the app are disabled, iMessage and FaceTime. How do these apps still send sms? I never authorized iMessage or any application to send sms. Apple why phone texting without knowing me?

    How can I block apps to send sms? If anyone knows how, please let me know. It is ridiculous that I have to pay for something I don't use. If apple likes to make apps that sends messages, apple should foot the Bill for the users.

    If this issue cannot be resolved, then I need to consider using android.

    See you soon,.

    First, there is no Apple in this technical forum from user to user.

    Second we user do not care if you go to an Android phone, you are more than welcome.

    If you get an error when you try to activate FaceTime - Apple Support or iMessage

    You use a carrier not supported iphone as you said in your post, this is why he sends sms to the number to the United Kingdom.

    Take your problem with your phone operator.

  • I have a 6 s with Verizon iPhone. Can I send/receive calls (using this service and calls on other devices functionality) on my iPhone 5s, who was with AT & T service, but has no service now since I switched to Verizon?

    I have a 6 s with Verizon iPhone. Can I send/receive calls (using this service and calls on other devices functionality) on my iPhone 5s, who was with AT & T service, but has no service now since I switched to Verizon?

    Note: I'm able to get two phones to ring with an incoming call, but the 5s consist not out. Whenever I dial a number, it says call failed.

    Do not dial a number. Try to choose a contact in the contacts App and tapping on telephone button.

    That said, I don't think that outgoing calls work on continuity since another iPhone. given that the iphone is designed to make calls through its own service.

    Document to support that you just did not mention calls from a secondary iPhone at all, it points to Mac, iPad and iPod touch, which leads me to believe that it won't work.

    It runs from devices such as iPads and Macs, who have no other way to place a cell call.

    On the Pro iPad, tap settings > general > reset > reset network settings

    You will need to re enter your Wi - Fi password.

    Then try to connect to your Wi - Fi network.
