• Apart from the scope, is there an advantage between elements of application elements of page zero vs?

  It's the kind of best practices of the question type.

  I understand, the application parts are available throughout the app Page zero points will be available on the pages where page zero is used. But there are basically the same.

  So, outside of the scope, is there an advantage to using application elements vs zero page elements for items that will be used on most of the pages? My use is I have these reference values of almost all the pages and there are some pages that will change the value of this variable. They are not constant.

  Do you need constants then?  IK them would define as page 0 items that are hidden and cannot be changed otherwise then I would use elements of application to a minimum.  For the most part, I also do not recommend 0 page elements, because they are not passed in and out of shape but are only accessible...

  In a perfect system, you pass in a page, what suits him and, according to the elements of the application and page elements 0 is dangerous in my mind...

• Page 0 points vs application point

  Is there an advantage to use a component of demand on the 0 point page.
  My requirement is to store a value in a global element, so that I can access through all pages in the application. The value of this element is calculated from a SQL query.
  Now my concern with creating a demand item is if at a later stage, I have to change the query that calculates the value, and then if I patch this change in production, I'll have to send the entire application (2 hrs to import) as elements of application are component shared. But if I create a new item in page 0, I need to patch only the page.
  
  (1) is there a way I can patch the application parts without having to send the entire application?
  (2) is it acceptable to use page elements (hidden) 0 rather than elements of application?

  N ° if there is a major concern to calculate the value of the element with a function in a database package, while the package body must be deployed if changes in source query and it's okay if an application or a page element 0 is used.

  One of the differences between the two is that page 0 elements are rendered in hidden objects on each page that includes them, allowing them to be directly manipulated using JavaScript, while the Navigator allows to edit only elements of application using AJAX. That would be the main factor I would use to determine which one to use.

  Yes and get this... http://screencast.com/t/6a5miQ4e this New Page that a copy is available on Page 0 if you access the Page 0 using the Previous/Next buttons. If you type 0 in the area of the Page and click OK, the option disappears. Go figure.

  Examining the Builder application shows that this is because this New Page as a copy menu/list entry is subordinate to the F4000_P4150_GOTO_PAGE! = 0

• How to specify the location of the region built in Page zero?

  Regions, built in Page zero can be used repeatedly in a subset of pages in the application. Ok. But the preparation of the pages > 0, the region built in Page zero is not visible/available. There are a few generic placement options on the zero Page, but it doesn't seem to be positioning options in the higher pages. So, what happens if the region P0 must appear in different places in different higher pages? Or what if it should be a subregion? I missing something here, or are the only options of positioning available exclusively from scratch of the Page?

  You always specify a "Point of view", which will be relevant to the page used by the rendered page template.

  The sequence is also always honored, hence a region with seq 20 will be apear between regions page 10 & 20 (if in the same point on the screen)

  Under regions are not feasible (through the zero page / regular page), or by program tells the display point - but then I wonder why you would want or need to do such a thing. If so, line up your page templates so that they use post similar region / numbering.

  That's all for the 4.1, page zero becomes global pages in 4.2 and have some of their own behaviors.

• How to place a menu in a custom (model) display on the page zero position

  What I try to do is the following:

  I want to show a TopNavigation Menu (plugin)... which shall be visible at the top of my pages.

  That's why I changed my page template and added #REGION_POSITION_08 # to a specific place in the header of the template where I want my menu to appear.

  I added a Point of view, to the model, named TopMenu and used the substitution of the #REGION_POSITION_08 model #.

  Now I want to put this plugin topmenu in this position, but because it is a menu... I want it in every page, so I want to place on the page from scratch

  But my custom created Point of view is not visible on page zero...  (it is visible on any other page).

  How can I use a custom page zero view point?

  Have you added the new position of the region to your default Page template (theme setting) or to a different page template? Because the Page Designer will / can use only the Standard model of the Page for editing Page zero.

  1. in the case of a display one element

  Change your point of P67_C and change the State of Session Save-> No.

  2. in the case of a text field

  Change your point of P67_C and make it read-only

  go to the attributes of the HTML Form element-> readonly = "readonly".

  What technology do you use? ADF Faces? You use the count? When the click on the button set a variable scope/bean. On the next page, set the af inlineStyle: document with scope/bean variable that you define in the login page.

• A page by using the Page zero stop

  I have an Apex (v 4.2) application that uses a zero page and one level of navigation tabs. Is it possible to create a new page that still use the navigation tabs, but does not inherit page zero?

  Or can I create a 'different' page zero and have pages that inherit instead?

  Go to each component in the page-0 and go on 'Conditions', select 'Type of Condition' as 'current Page is NOT in the Expression 1 (delimited list of pages). And in 'Expression 1', you can enter a list of the pages that the component should not be returned.

• Adding a substitution string without exporting the entire application

  I was wondering if it was possible to add a substitution string to an application on a different environment without having to export the entire application.

  I use export by component a lot, but now I have a small update a page and a substitution string (specified in the Application definition).

  I have to get this update to another copy of our application, without the substitution of the entire application.

  With a full export, I noticed that the wwv_flow_api.create_flow function is called that has a lot of parameters and substitution strings:

  p_substitution_string_18 = > 'TEST ',.

  p_substitution_value_18 = > ' < img src = "" & test.png "title ="test"/ >".

  There is another function that can add them separately? Or I can insert them with a statement on a table?

  Hope someone can shine some light on this case, so I know how to export more different components.

  PS: I use apex 4.2 with 11g, but I don't think that what really matters on this case.

  The substitution variables are found in the wwv_flows table and run from 01-20, you have to identify you with the user/schema of APEX_040200...

  Select substitution_string_01, substitution_value_01 from wwv_flows where id = 101;

  Update wwv_flows set substitution_value_01 = 'new value' where id = 104;

  When you define an authorization scheme, you can set as a condition for the security of a page. -You on each page individually.
  
  Now, I want to have a permission of page for each page on the App and there are a whole bunch of pages, so zero Page comes to mind. However there is no direct way to set a permission of page on the zero Page, or skip logic, so I've found a workaround:
  
  -> Process A Page zero to validate authentication page setting, APP_USER, and APP_PAGE_ID
  -> Year App-Item to store this result, say APPI_PAGEAUTHORZ,
  -> Dynamic Action on the Page zero, according to the value of APPI_PAGEAUTHORZ performed a redirect to the home page.
  -> There maybe an appropriate error according to the value of APPI_PAGEAUTHORZ.
  
  It works, but one) I'm not sure about the safety - you could disable javascript and you have all the pages on the url, and b) it seems a bit complicated and funky.
  
  So, I would ask you, if there is a better way to do this.

  A scheme of application-level authorization is defined using the attributes of application security, no Page zero.

  Trying to create a "zero page". Usually in previous versions for this do the following:
  
  1. on the homepage of the workspace, click Application Builder.
  
  2. Select an application.
  
  3. the Application homepage appears.
  
  4. click on the button to create a Page.
  
  5. to select a page type, select Page zero.
  
  Note that the zero page option appears only if the application does not have a zero page.
  
  6. click on finish.
  
  Since the 4.2 update, this option is not available or has move. (I don't have a page already created from scratch). Any help would be appreciated.

  The option in the Wizard Page is now tagged Page Global. This changed in support of the use of global interface specific user pages.
