Several queries on interactive report

Hi all

Is it possible to run several queries based on a condition in the creation of an interactive report? I mean

I want to execute a single query in the form

If: P12_QUERY == 1 then
first query
otherwise if: P12_QUERY == 2 then
second query
end if;

Please provide me with the syntax if its possible. Please help me in this regard.

With respect,

  • "Invalid number" error help search interactive report on collection

    Hello - I have several collections-based interactive reports. In directian IR query definition.
    I threw the values in the collection according to the needs (number, date, etc.). Everything has been working very well.
    In development and production, I can use the interactive reports search feature
    and he finds the lines containing the text I type in (as well as everything else works fine...)

    Only, I imported a new version of an application in our production database. Now, when I use the
    search for interactive report, I always get "invalid number." This occurs even on interactive reports
    It still work in the previous version of the application of production... and these IRS
    have not changed at all.

    If I create a filter and search for "elevation" in a string column, the filter works. If I create a filter
    you are looking for a "rise" in a column for the number, I get "invalid number." (In development
    environment, I can do the latter - it does not just lines.)

    Clearly it stifles the column types in the IR... but why now and not before and why
    in the production database but not the DB development? The two are running 4.0.1.00.03.

    It is a sizable loss of features... and it comes at a really bad time... Help?

    Hello

    What a lot of tests!

    Preferences, particularly sorting preferences, can cause problems because they are actually stored on the database and used next time the page is loaded. So, in the meantime, something has changed on the report sorting preferences may no longer work.

    There is a function of Apex that you can use to clear the user's preferences:

    BEGIN
     WWV_FLOW_PREFERENCES.REMOVE_PREFERENCES('username');
    END;

    and you can remove any sorting preferences using the:

    BEGIN
     APEX_UTIL.REMOVE_SORT_PREFERENCES ();
    END;

    other admin functions and which are described in: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/appdev.111/b32258/api.htm#CHDHDFHB

    You could provide a button on a homepage (or whatever page the user can always happen to) that triggers the second bit of code - it can not solve the problem, but it would eliminate a possibility.

    Most of the time removing their sorting preferences should not cause issues - most, if not all, remember what was the sort order, they used last.

    There must be a table somewhere that stores these preferences - but I was not able to find it (but, I'm sure someone can tell us right away what it is!) - which would make it easier to empty.

    However, as I understand it, the preferences are stored using one ID region. If the problem persists, I could only suggest that you create a second region, exactly as the first and then delete the first region.

    As to the question of the user/developer session. I've seen this before. I think (and highlight 'think'!) that if you are connected as a developer that also uses the same connection to the application, then your session as part of the application does not stop really until your disconnection from the development environment. I see a disconnect in the application and then go directly to a page within the app (perhaps using the browser history or by changing the URL) will take back you in the session as if nothing had happened. It was a gene! I got around this by having two browsers (for example, FireFox and IE or Chrome) - the update was done in FireFox and I logged directly in the application in the Explorer on the other. You will also find some development easier - there is an option on the pages of the attribute at the top right that says: "return to this page. If you check this option before clicking on apply changes, you return to this page. Refresh the other browser gets your new changes. Then, if there are problems, you are already on the page that needs updating - even easier if you click on one of the selectors of the area as the setting of the problem is brought to the screen.

  • How can I delete a filter automatically on an interactive report when I get back

    I have several pages with interactive reports. If the user implements the filters to refine the list in the report, they are still there the user returns to that page later, even if I clear the cache.

    How can I make the interactive report raise the base with no additional filter report when the user returns to the page?

  • Multiple queries on the same interactive report

    Is it possible to the button click, change the query for a report interactive?

    I created an example at apex.oracle.com

    workspace: stevendooley34

    username: dev01

    password: dev01

    Application: ForumExamples

    Basically what I want to be able to do is on the page by default IR there is a selection list. When the user clicks on the menu drop down and select an option, a search box appears. I want that this research working as a second IR query and third IR query searches that are slightly different queries.

    I know there is the filter option, but users do not want to have to go through and Insert commas between each value, so the second and third queries correct this, I'm not sure how to combine the three pages.

    I fixed this problem on my tabular reports by creating a new report on the same page and making it conditional to show only when the selection type is a certain, but as far as I know, you can't have multiple interactive reports on a single page.

    One thing to note:

    The example is in version 4.2 but my company uses 4.0 which is where I need to implement this.

    If there is another way to do this, I'm open to other ideas.

    Steven

    It's just an extension of what you already created in the Page 3 and 4

    It is very important that you learn to "think in sets.

    Once you have a definition for your dataset, you can easily create SQL statements

    What you're trying to do is to define a set of data that follows these rules:

    • If the search type is null--> return all ranks
    • If the input box is nowhere--> return all ranks
    • If search type = "name"--> return lines which correspond to ename (...)
    • If search type = 'job'--> return lines which match job in (...)

    Your rules will apply in the WHERE clause as:

    WHERE

    : P3_SEARCH_TYPE is null

    or: P3_SEARCH_INPUT is null

    or (: P3_SEARCH_TYPE = 'name' and ename (...))

    or (: P3_SEARCH_TYPE = "work" and work in (...))

    I already modified it Page 3 since it was 90% of the required stuff.

  • Several spaces is eliminated in interactive report

    I have an interactive report on a table that contains a column varchar2 (4000). When I run the report, several areas are shown only as a single space. How to display the contents of the column exactly as they exist in the database?

    Thank you
    Rob

    All HTML white space is reduced by default. There are 3 options to change this behavior.

    1. replace the characters of white space with non-characters ' is collapsed: typically the & nbsp; non-breaking space character entity. In a context of IR it's changing the column in the query:

    replace(col_name, ' ', ' ') as col_name

    and by changing the the text to display as property in the IR of column to column of Standard report.

    2. use HTML < pre > element. An IR, there are again a change of the motion:

    '
    ' || col_name || '
    "as a Column.

    and by changing the the text to display as property in the IR of column to column of Standard report. (You use < pre >, as well as the preservation of spaces, can alter other aspects of presentation, for example using a fixed-pitch font.)

    3. use the white-space property property to change the appearance of an element. This option requires no change to the query, but adding a stylesheet as

    page header HTML property.

  • Several interactive reports on a single page?

    I use interactive reports in a few places in an APEX application. I find them valuable as a kind of "generator" that the user can do a lot with.
    On a particular page, I have a radio button, offering to the user two possibilities. As one that they select, I want to show another interactive report. Each of them running different SQL with different number of columns.
    By default I can't do that in APEX 3.1.2 - when I try to add the second I get the message + "interactive report already exists on the page...". "You can only add an interactive report by page +".
    I tried to set the view state so that one wouldn't show, but I'm still not allowed to create the second.
    I guess I could create a branch to two different pages, depending on radio button option the user selects, but the option box is one of a few other entries form I need of the user, the other being a few dates and selections from drop-down list box.
    I want to keep these elements form visible above the interactive report, and I do not know how if I'm leaving braching to different pages for interactive report.

    Hope this makes sense to someone...
    Thank you.

    The best way we found to include several Irs on one page is to copy... Either in the same page or on another page. When copying IR #2, we had the condition for IR #1 set to NEVER. Viewing the report of your choice can be done either by defining a list of radio with submit and conditional display for each report, or by allowing end users to customize the page, with a single report is displayed by default.

    I hope this helps.

  • Interactive report several series in the same chart?

    Hello
    I am about to develop a chart report showing multiple series in the same chart
    ex
    Series1: product A, amounts, dates
    Series2: product B, amounts, dates
    etc.
    It would be good to use IntractiveReports in this case, but is - it possible?
    Thanks for the tips & tricks
    Cordially GASon

    Hi Gunnar,

    It is not actually possible create a multiple series chart using the Actions menu for an interactive report. Only the single series charts can be generated using this option. You need generate a separate table to manage your needs, which you obviously could position itself on the same page as your interactive report. The advantage to generate a separate table means that you can choose from a wide range of types of exposed by the wizards for creating Flash charts. We take to support the generation of 4 types of charts (horizontal bar, column, line, Pie) via the Action of graphics on interactive reports menu, but we support 26 types of graphs (ranging from the Gantt chart 2D column) via Wizards of creation. You may find it useful to take a look at my sample application (http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=36648) and also books AnyChart-online (http://anychart.com/products/anychart/overview/) and the graphics library, for more information on the cards.

    I hope this helps.

    Why CSV? The first thing that the function will probably do is to convert the string to an array...

    1. Add a static ID column of the box for use as a jQuery selector.

    2. place the Action defined by the dynamic ActionSubmit button.

    3. create a dynamic action:

By default, if a cell in the column in the file contains several lines (for example via the packaging), the other cells in the same row are centered compared to this in terms of vertical alignment multiline cell. I guess this can be managed with a set column expression shaped HTML, but I was not able to do so far.

    More generally how can it be implemented for all interactive reports / classics in a given application?

    It requires CSS rather than HTML, specifically the vertical-align property on the report table cells. For a single report, add a static region ID in the report area and include this style sheet in CSS Inline property page:

    #static-region-id .a-IRR-table td {
      vertical-align: top;
    }

    Leave aside the #static-region-id selector to apply the rule to each SORTING on a page.

    More generally how can it be implemented for all interactive reports / classics in a given application?

    Creating Styles of theme using the theme roller is the privileged and supported way to customize the appearance of the applications that use the universal theme.

    • Go to a page of IR in your application.
    • Click the Thème Roller on the developer toolbar.
    • Expand the CSS custom section.
    • Add this style custom rule:
    /* Interactive report cells */
    .a-IRR-table td,
    /* Standard report template cells: add selectors as required for other report templates */
    .t-Report-report td.t-Report-cell {
      vertical-align: top;
    }

  • Height change of interactive report

    Hi all

    Currently I use Apex 5.0 interactive report to display the data in my opinion.

    But I feel I have more than 20 columns, and I have to use the horizontal scroll bar to display data.

    The problem is when I have more than 50 lines, appear vertical scroll bar and I have to pull it down to see the horizontal scroll bar

    How can I set the "maximum height" of the interactive report?

    can you check just by giving the lines Maximum per page = 40 and insert several rows into the table

  • Application of interactive report of apEx using the last value of the point

    My interactive report is based on a field, but the value of the field is not applied when executing the query

    SELECT *.

    MyTable FROM A

    where A.registration_year =: REGISTRATION_YEAR_ITEM

    I created an item in the page REGISTRATION_YEAR_ITEM

    When I run the query, I want the user to type in a year, and then run the query and display the corresponding results.

    The query always seems to use the default value of points instead of the current value

    How can I do use the value of the current field?

    I also tried the V method, but produce the same results

    where A.registration_year = v('REGISTRATION_YEAR_ITEM')

    The environment is ApEx 312, 10.2.0.4 database

    Unfortunately, the upgrade is not an option

    Thanks for any help you can offer

    Add the REGISTRATION_YEAR_ITEM to the IR Page elements to submit property. He will submit the current value in session state.

    Why bother with the page element at all? Why users can't create just an IR filter?

    I also tried the V method, but produce the same results

    where A.registration_year = v('REGISTRATION_YEAR_ITEM')

    For performance reasons, use bind variable notation when you reference values from session state in SQL queries.

    Why not? That it will provide you with a safe and supported environment and your users with a much better life.

  • Run interactive report only if the search filter values / entered.

    Hello

    I have an interactive report I want to post, but the problem is that too many files are in the base table, so I want to hide this report until some filter values are entered in the search field (apexir_SEARCH), so if no value entered search I do not show the report but with the search value view the report with the returned records ,

    I tried to create a hidden item (P1_TEST) USE THE CONDITION relating to THE report if P1_TEST IS NOT NULL, and then submit the report, but it does not work well enough

    Thank you

    Add to the WHERE clause of the query of the IR (or add it in the WHERE clause if the report has not one):

    and exists (select
                    null
                from
                    apex_application_page_ir ir
                      join apex_application_page_ir_rpt irr
                        on ir.interactive_report_id = irr.interactive_report_id
                      join apex_application_page_ir_cond irc
                        on irc.report_id = irr.report_id
                where
                    ir.application_id = to_number(:app_id)
                and ir.page_id = to_number(:app_page_id)
                and ir.region_name = 'Conditional IR'
                and irc.condition_type in ('Filter', 'Search')
                and irr.session_id = :app_session
                and irr.base_report_id = (select apex_ir.get_last_viewed_report_id(to_number(:app_page_id), ir.region_id) from dual))

    The predicate will be true only if the user has created at least a filter/search condition for the report, and if it is false, that it must stop the optimizer to hit the base table. (This has been developed and tested on APEX 5.0, so there may be differences with previous versions.)

    Note that using the search field by default generates inefficient queries. If you are really serious about performance, clear the search field and get users to create filters to specific columns, which will have a better chance to allow the optimizer to use indexes or improve the execution plan.
