  Today, I tried to install the MediaHub (NMH410). The installation process works very well. But I can only access the multimedia browser through the IP address. The friendly name is not working. I tried this on Windows Vista and XP, firefox and IE. Nothing works.

  I managed to upgrade the firmware to the last one (2.17.13). But this does not resolve the issue.  Anyone has a similar experience. How do solve you it?

  The troulbe with access to intellectual property is that the IP address can change after a failure of electricity or something. I have a certain devices connected to the home network. BTW, the router, I've used is Linksys WRT54G.

  The case was eventually degenerated to the linksys U.S. assistance team. The guy told me that my isp (RoadRunner) overrides the dns narrowly with its own advertising.  The friendly name only works if the ISP keeps silent when failures occur.

  The guy told me that I can change the configuration file under vista to search local dns.  But he did not know the details. I have googled around. Here are steps to make this work. Just in case someone else runs into the issue.

  1. Open start-> all programs-> Accessories-> Notepad, right click "Run as Administrator"
  2. In Notepad, open the file c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts, if you don't see the hosts file, make sure that you select all(*.*) instead (*.txt) in the file type drop-down list menu.
  3. Open the hosts file, follow the examples included in the file to add your friendly name. Add basically entry with IP corresponding to your friendly name
  4. Try the friendly name in your browser. It should work now.

  * I've only tried vista. But the same steps should work the same way in xp.

  Downloaded app from AppWorld is every time the same naming convention: name app + name of the seller. If you install your own server via JAD you get usually only the name of the application under the name of CodeModuleGroup. It does not really affect the installation, I've updated installed OTA app with AppWorld version and vice versa, no problem at all.

  Name and friendly name are usually the same.  Friendly name is more "user friendly" the name of the application, while the name may be an internal reference or in a non friendly format (i.e. underscores instead of spaces).

  CodeModuleManager is used to manage individual files of cod on a BlackBerry Smartphone.  CodeModuleGroupManager creates groups of COD files.  An application (as seen under Options, Applications) may be composed of multiple COD files (brother COD, COD library folders, etc...).

  You will need to create a ViewCriteria in EmployeesVO based on the EmployeeId that receives a parameter.   Basically, I wanted to use the expression of value for networks, but using a friendly name for the network, as the network profile names would confuse the user.  We have created four areas (apps, web, db and gen) and 3 network classes (prod, dev UAC) for a total of 12 network profiles.  I have the expression works but it takes map a friendly name of "prod" to a profile of network specific to this region and class.  If an application server which should be prod you hit the drop down menus, but the "prod" would be effectively mapped vwire/network specific to the application server that are prod name.

  Well Yes, it's a common request.  You use the vCO to do the translation.  Your items in dictionary of properties will have the friendly name that the user selects and then you will run a vCO workflow during WFStubBuildingMachine that would make the translation and rewrite the property in vCAC for which network to place the machine on.  I'd be more than happy to build something that can do it for you.  According to the time available I can put together in a little later this week or early next week.  It's something that I wanted to blog in any case.

  I could do this drag-and-drop in Acrobat 9 Pro, but it doesn't seem to work in Acrobat Pro XI.

  As try67 said, I have not found a way to have the use of the A9 a different name. On a Mac, because the destination folder is "just there" the most straightforward approach is to highlight the file Untitled Pages.pdf extracted, press ENTER, and then type (or paste) the new name.

  You cannot change a user account by changing just the name. Simply by changing the name will do a cosmetic change only and does not affect the underlying files/folders in the profile. You will need to make a new user account called 'Doug' and then copy all your stuff from Compaq_Administrator to Doug. If you have all the other user accounts on the system and it is XP Home, you will need to make a third extra work (let's call it Tech or Extra or similar). If you have XP Pro, connect to the built-in administrator to make the copy. After you have created the new account of Doug, connect in a time so profile files/folders are created. Then log off the coast and on the extra account.

  2. in Windows Explorer, click on tools, Folder Options, click the view tab, click Show files and folders, clear the box to tick Hide protected operating system files and then click OK.
  3. Locate the C:\Documents and Settings\Old_Username folder, where C is the drive on which Windows XP is installed, and where ancien_nom_utilisateur is the name of the profile to copy user data from.
  4. press and hold down the CTRL key while you click each file and subfolder in this folder, except the following files:
  * Ntuser.dat
  * Ntuser.dat.log
  * Ntuser.ini
  5. on the Edit menu, click on copy.
  6. Locate the C:\Documents and Settings\New_Username folder, where C is the drive on which Windows XP is installed, and New_Username is the name of the user
  Profile that you created in the section "create a new user profile".
  7. on the Edit menu, click on paste.
  8. close the session and log in as a new user.

  You cannot rename the Documents and Settings directory. This is a directory on the system. If you want to a folder called "Docs", create one in my documents on behalf of Doug. You can make a shortcut to the folder on the desk of Doug if you wish.

  When my emails are received by the person I sent the e-mail to-only my name shows. I would like to know how to change or other so my first and the spectacle of the family name.

  Right-click on the account in the folders pane, and then select settings.
  Set your name correctly.
