Slower due to the Firefox Add-ons.

This isn't a specific question, as this is more a general frustration with Firefox. I notice that Firefox is much faster if I turn off modules I have installed over the years. It seems that Firefox gets a bad wrap because some add-ons slow down Firefox. Are there no comparative analysis of the tools available to show before and after the results of the use of an add-on? I use 5 of 19 modules at the moment and the performance is much faster. All this time, I just thought that Firefox sucked while disabling modules leads me to believe that the person in charge of this slowdown is due to an add-on.

In any case, I think that if Mozilla wants to protect their reputation more, comparative analysis tools should be a tool, a user can interact with.

This thread is 12 months old. Mozilla has recently worked on this issue of modules.

Test modules for startup, start with performance performance.

This extension is now available.

I have not used it myself, so I don't even know what it checks and it's good to find problems with the extension.

  • Firefox Add - ons in any way interfere with a VPN?

I recently ordered a VPN. Itgood, but has its ups and downs. I asked the same question people VPN Firefox Add-ons. They said that he "may" impede the VPN. Laughing out loud. Nothing says confidence like the word 'power '! It doesn't seem to work perfectly. Here's what I think in very basic terms. The VPN uses encrypted tunnel of . Do Add-ons in fact drag these companies, they block, in the tunnel with the Firefox browser I use? Because the Add-ons are still show the number of companies they are blocked even if I'm in an encrypted tunnel . He looks like the tunnel needs block all businesses before that add-ons a chance to see them. And I have to start all VPN, tunnel, process on my desk before even entering the browser. I know I could start the browser with Add-ons disabled. I don't know if somehow they could work even n or if they work against each other. With or without the Add - ons Firefox remains my main browser! You guys and girls are great! Keep up the good work! Nice day.

Firefox sends the exact same claims, but now, they go through the tunnel.

Don't think that the VPN as a filter, think of it as a carrier.

Instead of thinking of Web sites of your web requests from your home through your internet service provider, websites they will perceive as coming from the location of your VPN service using their internet service provider. If you visit sites that try to guess your location, you should see that they are now guess somewhere completely different. (If the sites stored cookies with your old location, then you probably still will see that.)

With this in mind, it is logical that websites always pull in all the same ads and other things. To prevent that from happening, you will still need the modules.

As to whether they will all work together perfectly, I don't know. Each user creates a unique mix, so there is probably no one in the world who can test it better that you can.

CS4 on Windows 10 seems to be broken... at least I can't clone. Before that, Silver FX and the related add ons did not work. I would like to remove and re-install Photoshop CS4 on Windows 10, but I'm afraid that none of these upgrade CD I will work... they are all dependent on a previous installation. If I remove photoshop and try to use the CS4 install disc I have, it fails? Will I need to re - install Photoshop 5.5 and each single update since then go to CS4?

You need not install older versions in order to get the last update enabled.  During the CS4 activation process, you can specify the eligible previous version (choose the oldest among a list, then enter its serial number).  Choose any one you had just before CS4.

  • My diappeared of taskbar background in FF29! I have the buttons Add ons it and now can't use them!

After the FF29, I lost my theme that doesn't make me happy, but I've accepted it. But lately I have say the taskbar background integer disappeared and I couldn't see modules line Add-Block +, adds ot Twitter, check the links, Quick Translator Page. How can I make it appear again?

It happened at work, until I can't find an acceptable solution I will not upgrade to FF29 home.

I understand what you are going through. I lost all my Add ons, when I've updated also. I only use Lightbeam and Firebug was not a big deal. I don't know why this update acted as a new facility, but he did. Basically, you'll have to find the Add-ons and re-install them. Many people do not know this so I'll tell you just to be sure. The Firefox button is always there that she has just a different look and location. This is the icon with three horizontal lines at the top right. From there on, it is no different. Hope that you can find every thing.

  • How does remove is - a 'In - Box '? (I was in Firefox "Add-ons" and FAQ without result).

The 'Modules' of Firefox tab displays not the "In-Box" as an add-on.
I couldn't find the solution in the associated articles.
    Please notify.

The Add-ons page is divided into several categories. As mentioned in ComputerWhiz, who is the most relevant is the category of Extensions.

If you prefer to copy and paste rather than creating a screenshot, you can use the second big box on this page:

    Help > troubleshooting information

    It will look messy, but...

In fact, the button-top "copy text to the Clipboard" - works fine.

  • "You have additional modules of this type installed.", despite the multiple Add-ons

Since upgrading to FF 8.0.1, I get the above message when I try to access the modules, Extensions on my iMac, despite a number of different extensions installed, which seem to work actively. The problem does NOT appear on my Macbook Pro, also running FF 8.0.1. Both systems have an OS X 10.7.1 running. I tried to restart FF, by restarting and, of course, empty the cache.

It is possible that there is a problem with the files that store the registry extensions.

Delete the files (extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini, extensions.cache) extensions.* and compatibility.ini in the profile folder of Firefox to reset the extensions registry.

New files will be created if necessary.

    See "extension corrupted files:

If you see disabled extensions, is not compatible, in "tools > Modules > Extensions ' and then click the Tools button, on the left side of the search bar (or click on the"Find updates"button in older versions of Firefox) to do a check of compatibility or to see if there is an available update compatibility.

  • Read my version of Firefox Add - ons incorrectly

I just upgraded to Version 7 of Firefox 3.0.11. I wanted to add some add-ons, but the Add-ons page won't let me download any of the new stuff because it says that I'm still in Version 3.0.11. To help title > tab on Firefox, it says that I am, indeed, Version 7.0 and that it's up-to-date.

I tried to restart Firefox and even restart my computer. Also, I have re-downloaded Firefox Version 7. Nothing has worked.

Your string UserAgent in Firefox is probably messed up by another program that you have installed, and it says that you run Firefox 3.0.11.
    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/USER_AGENT

type of topic: config in the URL bar and press ENTER.

If you see the warning, you can confirm that you want to access this page.

    Filter = general.useragent.

  • Is there a way to know why an add-on was removed from the Mozilla Add - ons ' "Web site?

I've been happily using "ISBN Linker," an add-on that I have heard of a few different sites and installed on site 'Add-ons' Mozilla only months ago. " I went to the site today to install this add-on on a new computer, and I received the message that nothing could be recognized under that name. As far as I know, he has been entirely removed from the repository of the add-on (Google Cache shows still some remains of its existence).

Is it possible to know why it was deleted? It is not that I want to discuss why it shouldn't be there, but rather than if it was just that he had not been updated, or maybe it was simply removed by the creator, I would take a shot to recreate the add-on and it re-submitting. If, however, it was deleted for some reason, I'd love to know to avoid problems!

This add-on has never reviewed by Mozilla. Mozilla has recently tightened the rules for modules that appear on the site of modules. They have sent e-mails to the developers of add-on for any add-ons not revised, in order to inform them that if they wanted their add-on to stay on-site the modules they would need to ask that she will receive a security review. Those who have not requested that a security review was the Add-ons disabled so that it no longer appears on the site of modules.
