• Rollover slidelets in Captivate 9

  I read on rollover slidelets and they sound very interesting, but the TI may look like the instructions on the site of docs are outdated? They say create a slidelet you should selected Insert > Standard objects > slidelet. However, Captivate 9 I don't see a submenu "objects Standard", nor do I see anything about rollover slidelets in the menu system (the closest I can find seems to be modify > convert Rollover SmartShape, which doesn't seem to be as flexible as a slidelet. )

• Captivate 9: How do SmartShape converted search style by default Quiz button button

  I created a SmartShape and converted into a button for use on slides (the continue button on the right in the photo below). All the features works well. I just need to make the button continue SmartShape look like the button again the assessment with the bevel effect. I don't see a way to do this. It seems not that I can apply the "Default Quiz button Style" at the SmartShape button. I don't see a way to manually add a bevel effect to the SmartShape button and I don't see a way to remove the wedge of iron the evaluation key. Whatever the solution, I just need the buttons to look the same. Is this possible? What Miss me it please?

  

  If you turn the button continue in a Transparent, set Alpha to 0 and width of line 0 button, it will always be on top of the stack, because it is an embedded object. Create an image that looks like the original key and that showed with the fast action.

• Placeholder smartshapes as buttons?

  In Captivate 7, is it possible to be able to create intelligent forms of placeholder like buttons on the master slide so that the advanced actions can there be attached? I see that you can do with the Standard objects, but the option 'Use as button' doesn't seem to be there with the placeholder objects. I would like to be able to create flexible master slides with shares advanced related objects whose members are then available to the team themselves for example to move the button areas around the screen. If I do this using Standard objects, buttons cannot be moved. Thank you!

  It is not possible to use a placeholder smartshape as buttons in masterslide itself.

  Placeholder shape can be converted as standard-smartshape in related slides and button to tie advanced actions.

  Hi all

  I would use a SmartShape as a button that changes color in the overview.

  • Is it possible to apply a button style (which has one up, down and State) to a SmartShape?
  • If not, is it possible to set up and down and on States of a SmartShape you can for a button?
  • If not, is it possible to use a combination of a SmartShape and a form of Roll-Over to get the same result? I tried, but the form of Roll-Over covered then the button... then it was not clickable.

  Unfortunately I can't use a button, as this will happen at a Question slide.

  I like the intelligent forms to aid in the form of button, almost do not use the normal buttons more. They are not used three States, but the functionality of pressing (form shrinks a little pressed) is OK for me to have other benefits: being able to convert free-form of change, fill with gradients, images, textures, doubling as containers for text with many possibilities of formatting, like bearings etc..

  Static button widget has been what I recommended in previous versions, when requiring something interactive (with limited functionality and design possiblities) on a question or a model of slides, but now I use more.

  I suspect, not sure, that the old buttons just disappears, just like the old bitmap based text captions, to be totally replaced by forms. Shapes are vector, I miss more opportunities publishing (real pen with its tool), and especially which is capable of recording forms customized with the advanced actions and all formatting attached to them. So you see, I want extension of them and perhaps also the possibility of having more of two States, but not in the first place.

• Standardize the size of smartshapes

  I'm working on a training video in which we have clickable smartshape arrows on each page. I couldn't not all the same size, and it seems sloppy. Does anyone know how to standardize the size of the smartshapes? Please find below the reference photo.

  Have you tried the option align (right-click with the toolbar or right) 'resize it to the same size?

  Why do you want those form buttons on each slide instead of on the master slide or timed for the rest of the project?

  If you insist on form on each slide buttons, create a style for each of the buttons on the form. When you put a button in the correct place, you can use the menu on the Options tab (button small hamburger/hot dog with top 5 lines on the right) and use 'Apply to all elements of the same style', which means that all form with the same style buttons will be positioned at the same place and have the same size. But you'll need two styles: one for the next button and the other for the back button.

• How to change the display order of the smartshapes

  I am very new to Captivate and I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me how to do a smartshape "front". It is hidden behind a video that I inserted into a slide and I want it to appear on top of the video.

  Is this a Video object on your slide? Is your Smartshape above the video in your editing Timeline area?

  Can you post a screenshot of your slide when the Timeline is open?

  Perhaps there is a misunderstanding. I am able to 'Save form' which is the English name of 'Save form' when I changed the shape of the form.   'Save form' is not meant to save the substantive changes or outline of the shape, in this case, you must save a shape style. Use the Style of the object manager and save the style shape. Each style of shape may even have three States (including the reversal and down) which are necessary if the form is used as a button.

• SmartShapes as button - does not?

  Captivate noob here, so please excuse me if this is a simple question.  I have a number of Smartshapes on my slides that I want to use as buttons to advance the slide show on the next page.  The buttons are there, on the page, "Use as button" is checked and the action set to "Progress to the next slide", in preview, but when I press the buttons, nothing happens, and I have to go to the playback bar in order to get the slide to progress.  I have similar problems with a button of Smartsahpe is not executing the advanced actions when you click too.

  Could someone give me a clue as to what is happening?

  Please, update as soon as POSSIBLE to 8.0.1.242. If my memory is good, he had problems with pimples to form for reactive nature projects in the first version. No guarantee, worth a look.

  There is currently no ability to tip Action to do this.  You can only SHOW or HIDE completed items to make it appear as if they changed color.  However, if you do this with buttons, you must also DISABLE or ENABLE them at the same time.

  With Captivate most interactive buttons or boxes to click on the affected areas remain active even when something is placed on top.  So just use the advanced Actions to disable the buttons.  It is the most reliable method.

• How to make a slide to wait until the user has answered a question correctly, even after activation of a smartshape?

  Background:

  I created a questionnaire in which the user must answer each question correctly before to proceed to the next slide. That's what I did:

  
  

  • Set preferences Settings > required > respond to everything - the user must answer each question to continue
  • Set the number of attempts at the level of the question to infinity
  • Made the Next invisible button and disabled the PlayBar

  In this way, the user can proceed to the next slide in the issue with the submission process - and, since attempts are endless, this means that after having answered the question correctly.

  Current objective:

  I want the user to be able to click on a prompt for a hint. To configure this, I did the following:

  • Created a smartshape titled 'click_for_hint' to display the text that says: "click here for a tip.
  • Created a smartshape labelled 'hint' text display

• SmartShape "stall".

  I have a very simple Captivate 8 slide that makes me batty.

  I have a slide with a simple background with three simple graphics on this subject.

  I wanted to stress each graph as I talked in the audio, so I created 3 rectangles (AKA SmartShapes) and placed them along the timeline when I arrived to each topic. I used not to insert a box highlight because I wanted the rectangle to have a gradient with an opacity of 100%. (I know it sounds weird, but it's really nice, because the graphics are white pure).

  Thus, for example, I'm talking about chart #1 4 seconds to 40 seconds... and on Figure 2 of 42 seconds to 55 seconds, so I defined areas for play and to stop at this time in the timeline.

  When I play the slide in Captivate, it works fine.

  When I saw the project in Solution Explorer, the first box does not automatically appear at the specified time. Audio continues to play of course (it is attached to the slide), but the playback head on the stalls of the PlayBar and the first rectangle does not appear unless I click on the Play button. As soon as I did that, the rest of the rectangles play. I don't want the user to have to click, of course.

  I left Captivate and restarted. I tried editing for devices. I also tried changing the rectangle to a box to highlight insert and which does the same thing.

  All objects incorporated on question slides always have top priority, they are on top of the stack.

  I've found a workaround for forms, as you can read in this article: buttons on Question/Score 6 Captivate Slides?-Captivate blog

  The idea is to put the shape on the slide before the question slide, for the rest of the project and always on top, then show it on the matter of time slide using a (Advanced) action.

  I have not tried with animations however.

• Spacing problems with the variable in the text captions and smartshapes

  I created a questionnaire that is customized with the last screen showing a message of congratulations and the total score. The total score is variable. The legend appears on the "Edit" mode. But when I publish it as a SWF, spacing stops to the variable.

  • The simultaneous use of smartshapes and text captions
  • Different browsers (FireFox 24, IE 11, Google Chrome 32)
  • Typed content in Notepad and copy it to the legend smartshape and text.
  • Typed content directly in the legend smartshape and text.

  I get the same result in each scenario.
