Smooth Scrolling: folio VS article size

Hello

I would like to create a good article scrolling as in the ADVICE of DPS 'Effects' of Bob Bringhurst.
I follow the steps of the article, but it does not work.

What I want is to have a folio of 1024 * 768 (horizontal only) which includes items that can contain more than 768 height (let's say 1024 * 2000).

If I create a folio of 1024 * 768 and import products that are 1024 * 2000
I can not download because it says:

Error generating content.

[Error: the proportions of page size must correspond to the folio.]

If I create a 1024 * 2000 (example) FOLIO and then import items that are exactly 1024 * 2000
-It works (although I can download) but I can only import items that have the exact dimensions of the folio, the ADVICE of DPS said "you can mix and match the Smooth Scrolling and appease the items in a folio of scrolling.
And then the problem is that I never see the folio on my Content Viewer on iPad then.
I don't see that she she the producer of Folio.
??

There is a point that says: "you cannot create article smooth horizontal scrolling, the workaround is to create frameworks scrollables, which can now include interactive overlays"
What bothers me is that in the example, we can see a smooth Horizontal scrolling (1024 * 2000 as well as in my examples and tests)

If the only solution is to cretae scrollables frames, I'll do it, but maybe I just missed something?

Yes it a/a.
I closed everything that he did everything again and now it works, maybe it was just a bug or I missed something, everything is going well for the moment thank you!

    Listen to samples on iPad Folio article (e.g. 1024 x 2000 px) smooth scrolling overlays window no longer works. Article is scaled and turned in a vertical position. No problem with the generator of Folio.

    Thank you to report this, I will forward to our test team for the investigation and they will log a bug on a later version if we can reproduce it.

  • Articles of smooth scrolling played on the Viewer is going out of shape

    When an article of smooth scrolling is shared and played on the viewer the last section of this article is often doubled in size. It seems strange and it becomes impossible to read. Are you aware of the situation? Is there a solution to this?

    displayProblem1.png

    Hi Fred,.

    I confirmed with the web team of the Viewer, it is a known problem when the articles are published in PDF format and have a height that is not an exact multiple of the size of folio. I don't have an ETA for a fix, but can provide a workaround solution.

    To work around this problem, you can publish a second copy of the folio in PNG format and mark it as the interpretation of "web viewer only. For information about this setting, see Digital Publishing Suite help | Customizing the display of Web site. To easily publish a second copy of the folio in PNG format, you can use our sidecar.xml support to import all your items at once, with the metadata.

  • You can hyperlink to a section of an article of smooth scrolling?

    I have a folio that uses scroll smoothly instead of scrolling the page.  The page is very long, so I want to create a jump to the menu that's going to jump down the page to the desired section.  I thought that creating a text anchor destination would work, but after trying different ways I found that it is not.

    Is it possible to navigate in a smooth scrolling article?

    Text anchors are not supported, but you can use the navto format to access the "pages" (tiles) of an article to scroll smoothly. For instructions and an example, download the free app from the DPS tips and open Advanced overlays > Smooth Scrolling links.

  • Smooth scrolling and snap the items of the same folio style?

    I'm creating an application with 10 items as part of a folio.  Nine of the items work very well in 1024 x 768 (snap style) several sections of the page.  However, an article would be easier if it is a good article vertical scrolling.  Possible to have both types of items in a folio?  When I try this and try to update the article on the ipad, the folio will never update.  For example, I create article smooth scrolling in InDesign to 1024 x 3500 pixel, save and add an article.  The article is added to the constructor of the folio on display as well as the producer of folio online, but I can't see the article on the ipad. Y at - it something I am doing wrong?

    -Brian

    My guess is that when you use the Add button to create the article 1024 x 3500, InDesign is treat as a layout portrait because it is wider than high. To work around this problem, use the import command to import the stack of smooth scrolling.

  • Is it possible to have hard and smooth scrolling scroll in the same article?

    In other words, you can have multiple pages sizes in your ePub?

    If so, can you please make the steps or point me in the direction of a tutorial please?

    You can have good scrolling pages and pages standard as long as they reside in different piles

    You can't have a smooth scrolling and a standard page in the same .indd file

  • DPS Article import batch breaks smooth scrolling of Pages

    When importing "batch" will support the ability to import the ENTIRE Folio containing the ' alignment on ' and 'slow scrolling effect' pages?

    Currently we must add the batteries individually if they want to have smooth scrolling batteries built into their folio.

    This is not true. You can use the file sidecar.xml to the flag as Smooth Scrolling items:

  • Can you have a smooth scrolling with the audio objects document and several States?

    I have a portfolio which is 1536 x 2048. It is a horizontal plane. I have a page that I would have smooth scroll (horizontally). This page size is 1536 x 7250. This page also has a multi state object and audio.

    I have the page in a folder on my desktop and it is called smooth roller. I tried to import it with anything that is open, but I always get an error of content generation / error must match the Aspect Ratio.

    I tried to create a zone and add it as a scrollable content, but I lose the audio and multistate.

    I tried to get this to work everyday and no matter what I try, I can't have the page to work.

    I was at some point able to get it to load, but it 'fit' the size of the iPad so it ended up by about 300 high 2048.

    Help, please...

    Thanks, Angel

    If you have a folio of 1536 x 2048, 2048 is your width of landscape. You need make image smoother scrolling 2048 x 7250, not 1536 x 7250. When you import or add the article, make sure that you choose the option to scroll smoothly to the landscape.

  • Smooth scrolling links

    Hi... I have a question regarding smooth scrolling links... on the advice of DPS app in theAdvance Folio DPS overlays there is a chapter explaining this... and say that the content is divided into 'tiles' and that these tiles are treated as pages... so to access a tile is 'navto://articlename#3' to move to the fourth tile... oki... no problem... my question is put for example... I have a folio with seven landscape oriented pages and one of these is an article of smooth scrolling... move manually on this page and scroll down to the last tile and then manually move on the next page... and then I return to the smooth drop-down page... the last tile is displayed... not one

    My question is: is it possible to "reset" for the first tile the right item from scrolling when paging manually? I mean.. When paging to page, before coming back... and here is the first tile rather displayed the last tile previously considered?

    Thanks in advance

    No, you cannot reset location of reading the article with hitting swipe. If you have navigation buttons, you can reset article.

  • Is it possible to make a "GO DOWN" - button in a smooth scrolling page?

    It is possible to make a button GO UP in a page to scroll smoothly AND in a several page article

    It is possible to make a button GO to BOTTOM in a several page article (for example the button go to URL > navto://pagename#pagenumber-1)

    But is it possible to make a "GO DOWN" - button in a smooth scrolling page? Perhaps with some sort of anchor point?

    Yes, in the scenes, Smooth Scrolling items are divided into tiles, each tile is actually a page, so navto://articlename#99 will pass at the end of the article. You can even use fractions to jump to a specific point. See DPS tips > overlays advanced for an example.

  • Smooth Scrolling items more than 2000px?

    I have an article I want to use smooth scrolling on and I am familiar with the mentioned 2000 pixel limitation on the adobe forums. But I see many good scrolling articles in different magazines DPS with lengths far longer than 2000px...

    This allows you to go over 2000 pixels?

    -Bob

    There is no limitation of 2000px. That was an old directive for executives of scrolling.

  • Smooth Scroll and Pdf

    Another question regarding the smooth roll - I chose a PDF version of the magazine as well as for an article to import to scroll smoothly. When previewing in the Viewer on the iPad3 text is super pixelated. Looks as if this article appears in pngs as opposed to "PDF-text". is this possible?

    Yes, if the smooth scrolling content has enjoyed two lengths of page, the article uses a PNG or JPG rather than PDF image format.

  • Smooth scrolling Firefox 40 problem

    Since I upgraded to Firefox for PC 40, I noticed that the smooth scrolling is not smooth at all. Fact scroll the page, but the text is choppy I scroll down. By "jerky", I mean that it seems that it is refreshing and redraw on the page instead of scrolling.

    Unchecking the options-> advanced-> general-> use of smooth scrolling eliminates the jerks, but now the scroll is not smooth and now is similar to a button "next page".

    Scroll smoothly worked very well in 39 FF.

  • Need to disable acceleration hardware and smooth scrolling for users on a Remote Desktop Session.

    Hello
    I need to disable acceleration hardware and smooth scrolling for any user that connects to an RDS Server. I messed up the mozilla.cfg and created an autoconfig.js file. I guess I'm missing something along the way.

    This is currently my autoconfig.js
    Pref ("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");
    Pref ("general.config.obscure_value", 1);
    Pref ("app.update.channel", "liberation");

    Mozilla.cfg
    Smooth Scrolling disabled
    lockpref ("general.smoothScroll.disabled", true);
    disables hardware acceleration
    lockPref ("layers.acceleration.disabled", true);
    lockPref ("gfx.direct2d.disabled", true);

    All that I'm missing? When I restart the two options are always checked in the options.

    Thank you!!

    Hi b1gt3x, you use a clear cfg file, you'll want to put this in your instead of autoconfig.js:

    pref("general.config.obscure_value", 0);
    pref("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");

    In addition, you will have to make lockPref with a capital P in any case - that it reacts very sensitive to spelling errors...

  • Fuzzy letters on websites when scrolling in Firefox 19 (with either smooth scrolling active / disabled)

    Hello

    Recently, I updated to Firefox 19, and since I had some problems when scrolling on Web sites: some lines/letters fade.
    I did some research online and found a trick to disable smooth scrolling, so I only have restarted Firefox, but the issue is still not resolved.
    I have not had this problem until the recent upgrade.
    Is this a known issue? Is there a solution to this?
    If no, how are we going to go back to the previous version of Firefox, I can only find the download links to the latest version...

    Thank you

    Hello Santuzzo, try turning off hardware acceleration and check again.
