Ideas: no sound, can't find software

  • You have problems with programs
  • Error messages
  • Recent changes to your computer
  • What you have already tried to solve the problem

Put your XP CD in your CD/DVD player, don't let it start.

Then: Start > run > type in msconfic > enter > extract the > at the top of the page type sndvol32.exe > to the second point in your DVD/CD player > thride type in c:\windows\system32 > then check out the file, replacing if necessary.

Or

Go to c:\windows\system32\dllcache and copy the sndvol32.exe file in your c:\windows\system32 and crush. To access this file, you need to enable "Show hidden files/system files" in Windows Explorer (Tools > Options > display etc.)

See you soon,.

  • Satellite M60-135: no function Sound Mixer level controls to "CD player".

    Hallo,

On my Satellite M60-135 (Toshiba original Setup) Windows XP Sound Mixer shows a slider of level setting for the drive but it doesn t work.
I can drag the level control or may mark the mute control for CD player, but it has no effect.

I tried to disable digital playback in the device driver for the DVD-RAM device but it doesn't change anything on the level control.

Is this a general problem of the Satellite M60, is a specific defect of my M60 or can it be fixed by updating all the drivers?

    Thank you for any suspicion.

    Wolfgang Nohl

    Hello, Wolfgang

Believe me that this is not a problem or any kind of fault. As you know CD players used on desktop computers have audio out port. This level control Configurator will be used just for them. Portable CD or DVD player has this audio separated on the port and that this option cannot be used. The same situation is on my Tecra M1.

In addition, it is a tool of Microsoft and Toshiba has no influence on it. As you know there is no OS designed only for laptops and this option is that it can not be used.

Good luck and have lots of fun with your M60. It's a great unit!

  • Dilemma of sound mixing

I noticed that my sound engineer has 8 eight copies of Internet Explorer.  I am constantly speakers overmy sounds that seem to come from a television somewhere station.  I don't hear sound on the videos that I play.  I'm very confused and not a "geek".  I would like to be able to listen to videos and nothing else.  How could I accomplish this?

    Hi Zeke,

    Thank you for your message.

Can you explain in a little more detail what you mean by "8 copies of IE in your sound mixer?

The number of instances of Internet Explorer you are running when you check?

I suggest to perform a clean boot to see if some startup programs are causing the conflict:

    Substitute:

Unregister Windows Installer and then reregister Windows Installer. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. in the menu 'Start', click on ' execute:.»

    2. in the "Open" box, type "msiexec /unreg", and then press ENTER.

    / Joel

    Hi Joel,

    Try the following.

Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp55001-55500/sp55026.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - If you also get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

When finished, restart the computer and let Windows load completely.  Open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  'Speakers and headphones' left click once to highlight, and then click set as default.

Reboot the laptop and check the audio quality.

    Hello

Why you n t use the Restore tool of the Windows system that would help you to define the operating system back to the point of time at the beginning?

I guess you deleted the sound/sound driver software and the System Restore tool should help you recover this software.

Go to start - all programs - Accessories - System Tools - System Restore
Then, select choose a different restore point. A choice, a restore point dialog box appears. Choose a restore point and click Next.

    Check it!

  • How can I reinstall a program that I uninstalled by mistake?

I uninstalled a program by mistake and need help with replace.

    Hello Jen91724,

You can try the system restore to restore your programs. To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, type system restore in the Search box, and then click System Restore in the programs list.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click continue.
    2. In the System Restore dialog box, click choose a different restore point, and then click Next.
    3. In the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.
    4. Click Finish.

The computer restarts and system files and settings are back to the State they were in when the restore point was created.

Hope this helps you. Let us know anyway. Make it a great day!

Similar to other posts, I have the following symptoms with my laptop Toshiba Satellite A500

  • Microphone uninstalled by mistake. How can I get it back?

While Installing Skype last week I have to somehow "fade" the microphone of my hp Pavilion laptop devices.    Need help!   I think that maybe a system restore it grow for me?   Any solution/help appreciated...

    Hello

    Try the following.

Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://h30642.www3.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp59501-60000/sp59649.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

    When finished,restart the laptop.

Allow Windows to fully - charge it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete.  Then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  Left click 'Speakers and headphones' (or speakers/HP) once to highlight and then click set as default.

Restart the computer again before checking if the microphone works now correctly.
