• EA2700 problems installing QoS

  I have an EA2700, which has updated the firmware fo the 1.0.14 (not Cisco Cloud Connect), and the window of QoS parameters on the installation of Web does not seem to work. All fields are gray'ed out, and the installation link does not work.  The original on the configuration firmware 1.0.12 box seemed to work.  I tried to revert to the previous firmware without success.  I would take some uplink of my VOIP (VONAGE) interface priority but had no chance. Is there a problem with the new firmware?

  Why not upgrade to Cisco Connect cloud, it is easy for you to give priority to the VOIP interface since it just drag and drop! But if you're not really comfortable with it. You can powercycle the router for 10-30 seconds if not work still then reset and reconfigure the router

  I will do my best to help you. I read your thread on your HP Pavilion g6-2235tx laptop and have slow speeds. Thank you for all the information on what is happening and what you've done so far. Something is slowing down the laptop.

  Have you installed some antivirus or firewall? If you disable what are your speeds better?

  Here is a document on improving your system.

  If these things do not help, I would consider a refresh of Windows 8.  Do not forget to save music films and documents in the case where.

• G72 will not load an OS with 8 GB RAM max

  I have a G72 with 2x2gb DDR3 1333 and I wanted to move to 8 GB. I bought 2 x 4 GB 1600. When I installed it, the computer should restart. BIOS would see all the RAM, but when Windows tried to launch I get the following error:

  -Windows recovery error-

  Windows could not start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.

  If Windows files have been damaged or misconfigured, Startup Repair can help diagnose the problem. If the power was interrupted during startup, choose Start Windows normally.

  I chose repair, and he feels something then restarts at the same screen. I chose to start normally and same thing.

  According to documentation limited that I can find online, the system is designed for memory at 1333 MHz and can step up to 1066 MHz depending on processor and RAM configuration.

  Based on this limited information, my theory is that, perhaps, with 1 stick installed, the memory is clocked at 1333 MHz, but with 2 sticks, he seeks to step up to 1066 MHz.  The memory you are using may not have the proper timing of programming operating to 1066 in this system, and that could be why 1 stick works but only 2 sticks.

  Again, this is just speculation - but it is something that is common in servers, where the 'ranks' more memory you add to the channel memory the system can cause the clock speed be forced to land.

  The other theory is that your memory can have some kind of programming error or irregularity which does not work properly in mode "dual channel", which would implicate automatically with two chips installed RAM BIOS to provide you with superior performance.

  Don't forget that 'defective' memory is one of the most difficult things to test, because even if the memory works in some configurations, it may not work in all configurations and although the material itself is not defective, the path that the ROM on the memory card is programmed may be defective or incomplete for some uses.  This is why it is always better to buy memory for your system right from the manufacturer or a brand named as Kingston, Crucial, Axiom, etc. and do not buy generic names or off-brand.

  As a general rule, long term, its not recommended to mix different frequencies & CASE, RAM together.

  But if you ask if they work together at all, they will all be two race to lower speed - no problem whatsoever in this area.

  Fortunately, your system manual lists the frequencies 1600 times & 1333 & if you put two Rams they will work in single channel type - no dual channel supports listed in the guide.  Here is your Manual (Page 1).

  The performance issue that could have landed because they are different, it's that they are running in single channel which is slower mode. But your system do not already support channel.

  So all of your ram is now 1333 but it will work very well in single channel mode.

  Download CPU - Z to see what makes your ram and ram it is. The part listed for 4 GB of RAM is in your manual.
