SRM - break the bubble, it break

Excuse the reference of Def Leppard, we test a SRM installation and good (SRM 4U1 on vSphere 4U1). I have the test plan works well between my protected sites and protection (thanks in no small part to essential work of Mike Laverick).

However, I noticed that when I run the test plan, the virtual machine appears in the remote host that is connected to a switch called testBubble-1 vSwitch without adapters bound to it.

So, I have a few questions. First of all, what happens if the VM protected in this protection plan uses resource that cannot be repaired by a host? SRM spread guests on the hosts in the cluster? If so, how the SRM'ed VM to communicate with each other through hosts?

Second, what is the best way (or a good way) to access these VMs to test? We are not stretching VLAN, so if we tell 10.10.x.x production and 10.12.x.x to DR, I was thinking about adding a VLAN extra (for example, 10.11.x.x) that is not routable between sites and then the servers protected to present on 10.11.x.x (and add a NETWORK card to the testBubble). Citrix can run from 10.12.x.x so that it will have 10.12.x.x visibility and be always accessible from 10.10.x.x (when running DR for real, that we would probably do what VLAN routable). Sounds a reasonable approach?

Hello. First of all, thank you to have the hand on the book - it is encouraging that people find it useful...

Obviously, the 'bubble test' will cause problems if used rigious testings - it is unlikely that an ESX host would have enough physical resources to allow virtual machines to be powered. As you say that if you have automated full DRS cluster then the internal switch that it creates is useless if VM - needs to talk to VM - B for the recovery to be successful

Try to see the 'bubble test' as a safety valve - as it prevents a VM to come with the same IP/NetBIOS name and cause conflicts with the original hours of stable production virtual machine... in many ways the bubble test simply allows people to 'test' MRS. rather than see their recovery of the EP plans due to the limitations he introduced...

So that means fundementally, if you want to test your recovery plans succeed really to the network address issue head on. Webreach VLAN chassis while desirable, are usually difficult to implement since it involves a close collaboration with the network "team" (which could be you by the way), and a detrimental change to the data/network layer which can be very political.

So current Board seems to NAT-ing the VMs recovery - so they don't have when they progress brough re - IP by a slow process of sysprep with perhaps of hundreds of comments customizations. It seems that the only challenge is that the NAT process is efficient and reliable enough to itself become a possible point of failure signal in a scenario of DR. personally, I think that adding a vmnic test tip switch is not ideal... and don't forget should be destroyed by the SRM at the end of the test - although sometimes they are left behind , like a bad smell when the stimulus plan "craps" out for some reason any...

    Hi all

Using the bubble machine generator and I was wondering how I can change the color of these bubbles from blue to white.

I see 'colorize, lifetime' options, etc., but does not stick white. I have choose but blue always returns.

Where did you got this generator? This isn't one of the generators that come with FCP X. If it is a free generator, I'll be happy to try it and see how it goes.

    Change the screen resolution

Screen resolution refers to the clarity of the text and images on your screen. At higher resolutions, items appear sharper. They appear also smaller, so more items adapted to the screen. At lower resolutions, fewer items adapted to the screen, but they are larger and easier to see. At very low resolutions, however, images may have serrated edges.

  • I want to burst the bubbles on my screensaver.

    Original title: bubbles

When my screen saver appears, it's a bunch of bubbles and I wish I could pop the bubbles to stop the screensaver rather than simply moving my mouse. Please find an answer so I can't keep asking. It is a matter of concern for my well-being. make a response and you should be left alone!

It is not possible with the built-in Windows screen saver. There could be a third-party screen saver you can download where to pop bubbles when the screen saver stops, check on the web for one with bubbles to burst (if they exist).

  • The bubbles... using object styles

Hi all! I took over a project in InDesign that was created by another designer. It's something I can't understand. There is a graph. And behind the text of the "bubbles". These are created using the object styles. The sentence I feel, is that when I merge the bubbles, mine out differently to what they were doing. And I can't for the life of figure me out how to do what they were doing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Basically, it's the 'corners' which are the cause. When I merge the two bubbles, there is a small dip. But when they merged their, it comes out instead of in. See what I mean below. I can't quite explain it with words.bubbles copy.jpg

In my suggestion rounded corner effect = Option of round corner. My point is: the order in which you merge forms and apply rounded corners will have different results.

  • How to get rid of the bubbly voice after noise reduction?

After the noise reduction it is somewhat an echo so I used this method How to prevent Echo for the noise reduction to get rid of it and, now, my voice became very sparkling. No way to get rid of the bubbly voice?

Which of the methods described in this thread that you use?

If you read beyond the first post, you will find that many of us in complete disagreement with the working method first described - doing one pass with the sliders for NR and reduction in the value of values is a recipe for the sort of things you describe.

Your best bet will be to return to your original file and repeat the noise reduction.  This time, playing in the past 4 or so light, rather than trying to do it all at once.  In the "Advanced" tab, set the size of the FFT to 2048, the NR slider at 20% and the reduction to 10 dB.  Apply the effect, then capture a new impression of noise with the size of the FFT to 16384 then 4096, and 8192.  You can vary the slider up and down like so requires, but each get subtle.

Working this way should allow you to achieve your NR without echo or bubble effect you mention.

  • How can I make rectangular bubbles that adapt to the text inside them without the "arrow" that points to where the bubble comes to have changed?

I do a lot of bubbles (150 +) who all text inside of them, which are distinguished by length. I want the balloons to look the same in terms of style, but I need different sizes of course for each of these texts. This means that the rectangular part of the speech bubble must adapt to the length and the width of the text on the inside, while the "arrow" to where the bubble is coming (e.g., the person who speaks) should stay the same on each bubble. So is there a way or a workaround to these bubbles "adaptation"?

I appreciate any kind of help

    Thanks in advance!

You can do this by using the option of automatic resizing the text block and a separate object (or 2) to the pointer / arrow.

Create a text block that auto sizes away from the direction of the needle. Make sure that the line on the block of text is aligned to the outside. Draw a pointer with the pen tool and give it the same stroke and fill as the text block.

Then you must carefully align endpoints of the pointer on the edge of the text block or if you want perfect-looking for joins, have endpoints of the pointer the text block overlap and cover them with another frame, filled with the same color of filling the text block.

You may need to experiment with the position and the size of this frame obscuring so it becomes visible when the text block is resized. Here is an excerpt, you might be able to use as a starting point. Dropbox - resizing_speechbubble.idms

  • SRM retrieve the Configuration of the Site

    Hello.

I hope someone can help.  It has been a few months since our start SRM 1 day course and my mind was obviously a little fuzzy on the implementation of MRS.   This is our situation and where I confused me.

Installed SRM on the site protected with appropriate database configured in this site.

Installed the plugin for this site SRM.

Created second DB server in recovery site data base.

When you try to install SRM in the recovering site, I get the following error message:

«vCenter server XXXXX was already an extension registered for VMware vCenter site recovery manager are you sure you want to overwrite...» »

This seems a strange message and still found nothing on the web.  I think I'm this setup entirely wrong, is this the case?

    Thank you very much

    Graeme

    Hi Graeme,

You have need of two separate instances of vCenter in a SRM configuration, one for your protected site and one for your recovery site.

It seems to me that both of your bodies MRS. try to connect to a single instance of vCenter which won't work (unless you use the shared recovery site of SRM, but that's another story).

To resolve this problem, redeploy a new instance of vCenter on your recovery site, and point your recovery site SRM server.

You should be good to go.
