[The update by the moderator topic title should be more descriptive. [Was: "Please help me"]

I use Skype every day to talk to my friends and he says I need to update some time ago but it does not, but I thought it wouldn't matter and I could still use the old version but now it says I should use the most recent version, but it won't let me download it. I go through the thing of launcher update until where it says "Please wait while Skype is installed. This may take a few minutes"and then a little box pops up saying"Installing Skype failed; code 1603. a fatal error during installation occurered. "I click 'ok' and it closes, so now I can't use Skype so that I can't talk to my friends! Help, please

You should not extract these files directly in the installation of Skype folder, but first extract them to any folder on your computer (a folder where you have unlimitted access), and then move the extracted files to the installation of Skype folder.

That's how I'm always "update" my installations of Skype.

  • Installation failed with error C1900107

I've seen many suggestions online about how to fix this error, however, the proposals are on my head and scary at best to try. I placed a call to MS in India or the Philippines and as a joke, they basically told me my system was inconsistent due to age. (bought in 2010). My sister has the same computer, and she installed W10.

There was no mention of the age when the upgrade offer was extended to the public.

I was also told that MS would do a "push install" but my system does not work properly? !!! Seriously, then why would I want that and they also said that I have to pay a fee.

They also suggested I have contact the manufacture and see if they had a solution or suggestion, HP website said they had not checked my computer for compatibility of the Win10. Their customer support said that the PC is out of warranty and I have to pay a tax and they would do a "push install" "nobody has explained ' forced installation ' meant."

Suffice it to say, I'm at my wits end because the error message is so vague that I have searched and searched without success.

Where a person not techno can get help without letting a total stranger charge you a fee to dial in your computer?

I would like to upgrade, but it's like pulling hen's teeth.

Well, we cannot do much for you here either. You the best option is to take your computer to a reputable computer repair merchant and allow them to perform the upgrade for you.

  • KB2656353 install fails with error 0 x 643

    Dear Microsoft support community,

    (a) I have Windows XP Professional SP3.  I haven't used this computer
in almost a year, so the first thing I did was to hang the
computer, connect to the Internet and run Microsoft update.
There were 78 updates and 75 of them were installed successfully.
    (b) when I tried to install KB2656353, the installation failed with error
    0 x 643.
    (c) Googling turned up to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976982 .
I tried the Microsoft Fix it 50123, but which did not help.
    (d) I repaired then the .NET 4 Client Setup.  No joy.
    (e) I ran the auditor of .NET tool to
       http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2008/10/13/8999004.aspx

And he noted "the check is successful" for

    .NET 1.1 SP1
    .NET 2.0 SP2
    .NET 3.0 SP2
    .NET 3.5 SP1
    .NET 4 client
    .NET 4 full

    (f) I have concluded that uninstall and then reinstall the whole .NET
framework was not claimed for now, since it does not seem
as indicated in KB 976982 corrupted.

    (g) I checked the registry for .NET 1.1 hotfixes listed issues
    in http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2004/11/23/268934.aspx
in the "Info 9002..." section, but I have not found any.

    (h) I downloaded the update in a separate file,
    NDP1.1sp1 - KB2656353 - X 86 .exe, to http://download.microsoft.com,.
and tried to run as a standalone program, but it stops almost
immediately.  By redirecting the logging to a local file, I find
the update has not been installed, but I do not know how to interpret
the log file, which is much too large to be able to post it here in its entirety.

How can I get this update to install?

    Hello

This can happen for several reasons, most common duration to a problem with the registry permissions.

I would suggest trying the following tool, it is a 3rd party utility that analyze and repair registry permissions, and so you can use it at your own risk (I used it several times without any problems):

    http://www.MajorGeeks.com/mg/getMirror/tweaking_com_reset_registry_permissions, 1.html

Click the Start button and let a few minutes (it may take some time, about 5-10 minutes), the journal stated: "" once it ends.

Then try to reinstall the HP software and check for the difference.

If the same continues I suggest contacting HP sopport to continue such troubleshooting.

You can find the detais contact for your region below:
