• Multitouch storm Simulator trial

  Anyone have any ideas on how to test the multitouch in the storm Simulator? I think I need two mouse to the serious although it seems impossible. I'd like to hear if anyone has found the right techniques!

  In the Simulator menu invoke simulate-> Mode Multitouch. Then click (or touch) the screen once, and then click (or touch) once more. It works for me.

• VirtualKeyboard.setVisibility () on storm Simulator

  Anyone else working on the simulator of storm having similar problem?

  -virtual keyboard gets instantiated (for example, when the user clicks a text field)

  -user leaves the screen, but the virtual keyboard rest, even if the old screen called setVisibility (HIDE) from the onClose() method

  -When the original screen calling Gets the back focus, it calls setVisibility (HIDE)

  -the appellant also called setVisibility (HIDE_FORCE) of its Builder menu

  .. .and yet the keyboard remains on the screen.

  Problem solved.

  It turns out that if you have an implementation of screen that replaces onFocusNotify(), you will keep the framework of the compensation of the keyboard.

  Adding a call to super.onFocusNotify () clears up the issue.

  I just realized you were testing the STORM.

  So, it's a little different.

  1 simulate - Blackberry - left-coast-to the top tile.

  2 goto Web page

  3 menu - see the keyboard

  4. keep the! 123 button clicked until it displays a lock icon in the upper left corner

  5. click on 3? $4

  This shows the source in the storm

• Can't clean up storm Simulator

  I can't erase my apps from the simulator of the storm.

  There is not a clean.bat with her.

  Uninstalling and reinstalling _still_ leave my 2 apps in there.

  I've built applications using the Eclipse plugin.

  When you try to clean it, I run it stand alone.

  (I failed to clean the inside of the eclipse, so I decided to stop trying until I could get the stand run only to be cleaned).

  I searched for all instances of my applications cod files and delete all of them, and the applications are still there.

  When I run the Simulator I find my apps under "downloads".

  Another thing I use Vista.

  I was able to successfully delete it now.

  Some things to note:

  (1) Vista usually does not allow programs to write to the Program Files directory, rather he writes files in a directory (to allow backwards compatibility with programs that require an entry in Program Files), and then he makes the program think that the version of the files in the shadow directory are in the actual program files directory (or a subdirectory under it where ever they should be).

  (2) I've cleaned up the directory of shadow after you have uninstalled the Simulator, but for some reason that the Simulator was not compensation.

  What does not work for me was after the uninstallation of another time and by removing the directories of the shadow as well, I installed the Simulator in a new directory I did (and as it was not the Program Files directory, Vista will allow him to change without writing the shadow files).  So far, it's clean, I'll save this directory and try to remove it and replace it with the backup, the next time I need to erase it.

• Storm Simulator has Java runtime error

  When I try to use the Simulator for Storm 9500 and 9550 I get a java error message.  "Error Eror - BlackBerry Smartphone Simulator, inside the JVM application: 0x00000008 access violation reading."

  This occurs when the JDE tries to connect to the Simulator.  This is before you get to the main screen or my application start.

  Does anyone know what causes this or how to fix it?

  I see it occasionally.

  First try this: stop the JDE, reboot, then the "clean" and "build together", restarting the Simulator.

  If this does not work:

  Stop the JDE

  go to the directory of Simulator

  Run clean.bat

  Restart the JDE

  Select file / delete file Simulator / Erase file system

  Now clean & rebuild and everything should be back to normal.

• MMS in the storm Simulator

  Hi all

  I tried to find the MMS option in the simulator of storm. But it is not available. This is what they have limited features on Simulator? So to test the MMS or some features that are not present on the Simulator, would need us a device and the application must also be signed?

  Simulator as I KNOW does not support MMS. You should test the real device.

• General Socket error on torch Simulator

  Argh...

  I used the storm Simulator to test my application.  I can read and write very well http and Sockets. Now I download the Simulator for the torch and I get "General Socket error" on all network access.  I looked in the debugging that I can't find something different.

  Ideas?

• Problem on the size of the screen.

  I write a custom screen named mylistscreen, get the data from the first screen and show it.

  This code cannot obtain the correct size in the storm Simulator

  But the blod Simulator will show the correct size

  Why?

  If you have compiled and packed your code using the version 4.7 or later (ie., 5.0) then you should get 480 as the result of Display.getHeight () call when the virtual keyboard was invisible (hide) in the model of storm

• Can JDE 4.7 develop program to load into the curve or "BOLD"?

  I have a question. If I use a fix width and height, which is 320 x 240 to develop software. JDE 4.7 allows you to compile and load in BlackBerry Curve, Storm, and "BOLD".

  Can be loaded with success with just bad position? (Original in the storm: main screen in the Middle-> lead curve: main screen align left... so I just need to calculate the display.getwidth () to get the midpoint.)

  I ask this question because I only have a storm Simulator and JDE 4.7, which is the most recent. I don't really know if their production (cod file) can be loaded successfully in another machine...

• Paint graphics fonts problems

  I test on a storm Simulator.

  I want to change the font for my text in my custom buttonfield. the following is an excerpt from the paint - my custombuttonfield class method:

  When you run this code, I get a "Eception exception: Application does not; process is completed. Most of the time the screen is drawn, and then the error occurs. It sometimes occurs without painting the screen at all.

  To put this code inside an anonymous thread class, the screen is continuously repainting, which gives a "VM:THDRr = too_many_threads" on the console log. Finally the application crashes with an 'uncaught exception '.

  The code without the lines of code-fonts-all works fine.

  What I am doing wrong?

  Two things:

  First of all, don't instantiate not a font within this routine of painting. There is a performance problem. Instantiate the police elsewhere and simply refer to the current font to object.

  Second, affecting policies precipitated an invalidate(), where another call to object. This is a recursive call, and there is no way out of this loop of 'painting '. Each call to object then change the font, causing another call to pain(). In the business, we call this the dreaded 'endless loop '.

  So, take care of #1 and #2 will disappear.

  I'm new on java and ripe, but appreciate any help you can provide...

  I is currently developing an application and you need to download an image on a server using the POST method (php server-side). I used the examples found in the documentation and the Forum and I am close but not quite there.  The code runs without error, but there is no to reach the php script.  I can upload an image through the browser using the same php and it's successful, so I don't think that the problem is with the php.

  A couple of other keys...

  -Tests on storm Simulator (4.7)

  -Image (imgData) data is an array of bytes directly from VideoControl.getSnapShot (with jpeg encoding)

  -The Simulator is connected to the internet via the MDS Simulator

  EDIT: realized that my getResponseCode calls were prematurely flushing the output stream, if no data has been

  sent, if they have been removed. However, maintaining connection expires all trying to empty or getResponseCode with

  data to the output stream.  The previously successful empty stream, I got a response from the php script error so I don't know

  only one connection can be established on the server.

  Maybe my timeout is too short... but the image is<>

  My guess is that there is a mistake in my format for the message into several parts or something with the connection.

  I eventually determine that it was a problem with the MDS Simulator, I was using and not my code. At first, I used the stand-alone MDS Simulator, but once I started using the MDS packed with the individual JDE, my data began to flow.

• Custom Focus FieldManager problem

  I created a new manager of land stretching from VerticalFieldManager that takes two fields and place one on the dark side of the left hand of the screen and the other on the far right of the screen.  He places them in the right places and when you scroll down (using the arrow keys) it highlights each field in the proper order.

  The problem is that when I use this field on the BB Storm Simulator Manager, I can't concentrate on the left field by clicking it. The right field working properly but.
  

  Is there something else I need to crush to solve this problem?

  The fixed.  I did my manager extend Manager instead of VerticalFieldManager and now the left field is accessible by clicking on it.

  In my makeMenu() application method, I use menu.deleteAll () to remove all of the default menus. If I run this code in 9530 (storm Simulator), it shows only to see the keyboard and button application menu, it's good.

  But if I run the code in other simulators it shows .

  Where the focus is anywhere in the screen, it shows the empty menu when I click on the menu button. I need to remove this also.

  What I want, if I click on the menu button, it should not show anything (means it should not show , but in the storm if I click on the menu button, it should show (show the keyboard application and switch).)

  It is anyway to solve this problem...?

  You can use the DeviceInfo class to determine the model number of BlackBerry and then return false in your keyDown method.
