• Layout PDF file > open behavior?

  I know I can set the preferences to display Page Acrobat to display files of how I like to view them (for example two up, Zoom: Fit to Page).

  However, can I integrate the display behavior of page to open a file in a certain view page (possibly overriding user preferences)?  I have a double page that would look much better is it is open in two upward and zoom out to fit the page, and I would like to than the behavior of default file.

• 8 of RoboHelp HTML - layout VERY basic and naming issue.

  OK, I'm sure this must be obvious to everyone because I can't seem to find in the places I tried. My personal experience with the help files is not help (Yes, I know, pun intended).

  I create a RoboHelp HTML to a PDF file.

  When importing the file, I give myself the opportunity to create a new topic based on a style. Great so far. After doing experimental and looked at the exit that I am of the feeling that "something" is "an HTML document that, in theory, covers an area of interest, that's why the subject of the phrase.

  Then I opened the help file for IE I see the content as "Find the Pages Web You Want" and «Browsing the Web Offline» None of them can be selected to display information in the right pane, but open both to show what I will call "subtopics", which each opens what appears to be an html document in the right pane.

  Adobe Help files are a little easier to deal with, just navigate to the folder for help and there are all of the HTML files.

  So, I'm confused, and I have a major mental block which makes it difficult to act without getting a hierarchy/layout. And if this information is available in Robohelp or place help me smack in line, right to the back of the head and point me in the right direction because I'm not.

  Internet Explorer help, what should I call the links in the left pane, where I can click to bring up a page in the right pane? What I call the elements that I can stress that, when clicked, display list clickable links? And it is true that if I ask RoboHelp to create a topic out of each of a given style, then I'll have a separate HTML document for each instance of this style?

  Hi there and welcome to the wonderful world of wild and wacky to help creation!

  The area on the left side is generally called a "Navigation pane". The Navigation pane usually has different points of view. Table of contents (TOC), Index, glossary, and of course, research.

  Table of contents contains a metaphor books and Pages. Each book contains Pages inside. Each Page includes links directly to a file HTML (Topic).

  Indeed, if you are suck content PDF, RoboHelp is told what the criteria is to divide the long PDF document in individual HTML topic pages.

• Alternating pages masters (propagate layout)

  Hi, I put together a book for a client, and the editor wants the files in a single layout PDF.  It's a book, and I want the opposing pages to have wider margins of the spinal column-oriented, so I would like to be able to put in place all the other pages with a different master page to achieve this.  Is it possible to automatically set up?  I'd hate to have browse and manually select all the other pages of a document of 200 pages and set the appropriate master page.

  I'm not sure it is entirely clear of the previous posts at this stage, so I'll say it directly.

  In the preparation of the Document, check the box for the Pages facing. Set a larger inside margin if you need. If you have already configured as only non-connected to pages you can change that. First go to the page layout > setting layout... and the round turn it on, then go to the installation Document and activer turn on facing pages, and then select the master page in the Pages panel, select Master Page Options in the menu of the Panel change the page count to 2. Withthe master page selected, go to layout > margins and columns... and set the margins. It is quite complicated so that if you have not done a real job, you would be better off with a new facing pages document.

  Facing pages is only a display option that allows you to view and edit to spread drives for convenience and use a master of two pages so that you can have pages left and right without jumping through hoops, when you add or delete pages. It has no effect on what gets exported in PDF format when you use the PDF (Print) option (in CS5 or 5.5) or in any version earlier than that, unless you deliberately choose export pasta to spread (that you should not) by checking the box in the export options. (Interactive) PDF, is the choice by default in CS5/5.5, and it automatically export pasta to spread but also not give you a PDF print quality, so be careful and choose the correct option. Your PDF is exported under unique pages, as the editor wants.

  I have created a simple Applescript that creates a PDF from InDesign using some parameters.

  I'm putting in place a similar script for our editors, who use InCopy.

  I can't understand how to specify the PDF export options in InCopy the way you can in InDesign.

  I need to specify that the view should be layout (no closet or article) and the page range.

  Any ideas?

  I learned Applescript mainly through watching the sample scripts provided with InDesign and writing scripts reading guide, but I can't find examples of what I need in the InCopy or the library documentation.

• DesignJet 815 MFP - The Scanner lamp will not turn off

  Before we had the controller and lamp replaced on our venerable 815 scanner card (i.e. before the last apparently got watered by a power surge), I seem to remember that the lamp will auto power off after a period of inactivity to prolong the life of the lamp.

  A new has served without interruption since a few days now, which is not healthy for me.

  I couldn't find anything in the settings, the manual online or on the auto layout PDF user guide... I just imagine that this was how things were at work? If it is SUPPOSED to shut down to protect the lamp, no one knows where this setting is hidden or how to turn it on?

• Table of contents in the report of the wcf

  Hi, I'm looking for include the Table of contents in a report of wcf (by setting the 'see the Table of contents' true in the display configuration layout PDF) and see a blank page is generated for the Table of contents page.   I have a script I'm running through a hot folder and when it's over, I want to delete the file in its folder.  I have tried a lot of different things, but nothing works I can not function.  Any suggestions? Or is it possible?

  She was probably saved with the application on the Mac, as opposed to Adobe Reader or Acrobat. Overview really sucks for PDF forms and is actually evil because it causes all kinds of damage. • Pdf creation from Word 2007 with the layout, the 'Landscape' Orientation and document Pages, 'two pages per sheet.

  I am trying to create a PDF from a Word 2007 document with the layout, the 'Landscape' Orientation and Pages, 'two pages per sheet.  The document was created in Word 2003.  The entire document is four "pages" long, but each of these "pages" is half of an 8 1/2 x 11.  So it's really a pages document two and prints on only two sheets of letter size paper.

  Acrobat does not seem to 'see' this document is set up to have two pages per sheet, is it really just a two-page document.  He created a four-page pdf file.

  It arrived not with Word 2003.  The pdf file created from this version is an exact copy of the document word - two pages.

  Any ideas?

  You know the password? Otherwise, the security policy does not allow adding comments in the file, then there is nothing you can do about it.

  1. create the new report

  2 create a report using an existing data model (browse and choose a data model)

  Layouts Excel generate only one exit Excel. (CSV takes no account of the provision is therefore an option for any layout.)

  You use RTF or PDF or page Template Builder (XPT) layouts to generate PDFS.

  The LOV to find output formats by modifying the report and selecting a list.

  The table has a column to the output formats, it is controlled by the format of the presentation that you have built.

  A PDF file has searchable text. It can be enlarged or reduced at will on the

  screen. For a layout fixed ePub, line breaks are determined, are the

  position of the graphics.

  So why a provision ePub fixed?

  EPUB allows access to new distribution options and new tooling and integration options (ex: HTML animation/interactivity) are also possible because EPUB is based on web technologies.

  In my humble OPINION, it is the rise of ebook stores that pushed EPUB - I can sell an EPUB into a store, not so much with a PDF file.

• Layout in Arabic, Chinese and Russian. Export text from a PDF file

  I am exhibitor of long documents in Arabic, Chinese and Russian. The text was provided in PDF format when I copy and paste this in Indesign, it happens like question marks, boxes and other characters having nothing to do with the text I'm trying to layout.  I put the cast on the Arabic Myriad and Arabic dictionary still nothing that resembles Arabic or any other language. Same thing with the Chinese and Russian. Any suggestions on how to get the text from the PDF file where is the language. Appreciate help with this.  Thank you.

  Thus, KK: you're in for a world of pain. The intials "WP" at the beginning of these policies means that the text is out of WordPerfect. Make presentations multilingual in WP, it was annoying, but possible. It was developed in the pre-Unicode world where every single method of complex script layout was a dirty hack. If you like dirty nerdy details, I can tell you how it worked, but that it is sufficient to say that attempt to harvest the non-latine-script text of: WP and it reuse for use in InDesign is just pure pain. WordPerfect-specific code pages were never really supported anywhere outside WP.

  That being said, I have a script around laying somewhere for the conversion of the WP-Cyrillic in Unicode. (In fact, I think it does Windows CP 1251, but that works as well.) But this is only one of the forty-five languages? And the Chinese has been pixelated? And PDF files were originally generated by Distiller 3? If you have no choice, it is time to leave. If you do not have the choice, I really hope that you charge hourly. My experience in this area (very large) is that it will cost three to five times more to extract the text as it would for a professional translation generate a new key of the text, and and then to have a second professional translation review text rekeyed looking for typos.

  Russian OCR is darn good these days, but Chinese OCR is random. I've never seen good Arabic OCR - doesn't mean it's not out there, but I couldn't help you find it.  But the chances that all 45 languages available reliable OCR, and the result of said OCRing will not have to be reviewed by someone who knows the language, are virtually nil.

  What formatting changes are necessary to allow a single InDesign document that will be printed as a PDF layout page by page and the design of the poster?
