Issue 115-S1100 satellite with cooling system

I had kept about 30 minutes work laptop in a bag, when I'm out there in the bag, he was doing some hot.
I now have message in windows system 7: problem with cooling and then they recommend power off immediately.

I bought it in the United States with warranty, but I'm living in Russia. I should send it to cabinet, or maybe I can fix it in the Toshiba support centre?
How much should I pay to repair this defect?

Hello

You hear a fan noise? I guess, the fan no longer works and the system asks you to stop. If this is the malfunction of the fan, you can contact a repairer approved in Russia. they can replace it easily. You should contact toshiba service center if they provide an international guarantee

  • Satellite L500: WARNING: problem with cooling system message

    Dear Toshiba

Some may perhaps explain to me how that happens.

We have 2 x L500 computers laptops, one was bought and activated a day of July 2010 (Computer1)
The other was purchased 1 day later the same store and activated the same day - 1 day later (machine 2)

Yesterday machine 1 responded with the warning message, there is a problem with the cooling system - please turn the machine off and return it for service.

Machine 2 responded today with the exact same message, just after turning on after 4 hours OFF... an unusual situation say you or are - this sort of built in: service to generate the functionality?
I'm not convinced it's a stroke of luck and there is nothing wrong with a machine that I could see.

Anyway to reset every machine has solved the problem, see how long it takes to return.
As you may have guessed, two machines are out of warranty by a few months now.

If any of you have a similar problem, would be happy to hear from you.

    Kind regards

    Ernie

    Hello

One of my friends had the Satellite L500. As far as I know the laptop works pretty well.

I do not know if this message was created because of a software problem, but the laptop should automatically stops down if the cooling modules would not work properly and the temperature would goes up to a higher level of m

So I recommend watching the temp for the next time level and of course, you could get in touch with a Toshiba ASP in your country if notice plu temp or a hardware problem with the module cooling

  • Satellite L50D-B-15Z problem with cooling system

Hi, I have a laptop about a year ago. And for 5 months, I have a problem with the fans. Out and the following message is displayed:

WARNING: A problem with the cooling system has been detected. Please turn off the power immediately and return it for service.

The strange thing is that the first time that is spent stopped working a week, then a month and finally stopped working until 3 months there now will not start.
I have even the implied warranty of the product, but I didn't think to send because it takes virtually every week for classes. I can use it, but if I perform actions that require superior performance as playing the games or download several videos at the same time to start warming up, getting the message and if continuous closed finally down.
What should I do and how can I solve the problem?

Sorry if I do not quite understand. I do not speak English.

There may be dust stuck in the heat sink.
using compressed air to blow dust through the vent.

  • Satellite C660-21Z - System Message about the error with cooling system

I've had my laptop for 11 months now, and in the last days a system message was appearing on my screen saying there is a problem with the cooling system and that I should turn off the laptop and return it for service. I'm not sure if it a message genuine system or if it is in fact spam.

The answers would be grateful to you

    Hello

I have read on this message and looks like it s a software bug
Have you noticed any problems with the cooling system? I mean something like a higher temperature or unexpected shutdown from the bottom?
If not then it's a bad alarm
You can ignore this message and I read that after new system recovery the message did not appear again.

  • P30-145 satellite - computer cooling system becomes too hot

    Hello

Can someone tell me the speed of maximum ventilation for Satellite P30-145, Im of the problems with the cooling system, because my computer is because cutting as its not too hot, Ive currently had raised by 1 inch on wooden beams to help the circulation of air, and I wanted to know what the speed of the fan is the possibility of an update of fan.

    Thanks for your help.
    Michael

    Hello

The fan that was installed in the satellite P100 expected works well and should be able to cool the CPU without any problem.
I recommend you to check the settings in the energy saver. There, you can choose between different modes.
It is also important that the fan grids are free. The air circulation is very important for the cooling of the processor

  • Satellite L670D - cooling system warning message

    Hello
In March, I bought a Satellite L670D, which pops up an alert:
"WARNING: a problem with the cooling system has been detected." "Please, turn off computer immediately and return for service '.

However, looks like a false positive because the Toshiba health monitor does not show something wrong with temperature (cpu, 36-50 ° C). I also added SpeedFan. I saw the fan turns into a tool of Toshiba, but not in the speed of the fan (no info) and I can see short-term ventilation physically to the left side of the case (hot air).

Fan makes really sounds, coming abandonment normally upwards and downwards. Sometimes, a sound of 'friction represents of limbo' can be heard. No crashes, no forced downtime.

    What should I do?

    Thank you

    Hey,.

What Toshiba tool displays this error message and you use the preinstalled version of Windows 7?
This happens in Eco mode, the balanced power plan, or high performance?

It would be great if you could upload a screenshot of the error message because I've never seen such a message. You can use a host file as http://imageshack.us

Still if it would really be a hardware malfunction, your laptop can be repaired to an authorized service for free during the warranty period. If you bought March it of still under warranty.

But first, you must send a screenshot of this message. Maybe it's just a failure of s alert or there is another simple solution to your problem. ;)

  • Re: Satellite C660D - cooling system of the fault

    Hello

I get a message on my cell, read, defect detected in the cooling system immediately turn off the power and claim a satellite service. It is not the fan I had the I.T. guys at work, take a look.

It seems the front of the laptop, where is the card reader and the surrounding area is to hot.

One idea would be very welcome.

    Thank you

    Dave

    > Is not the fan I had the I.T. guys at work, take a look.
What have they checked exactly? Have they dismantled the notebook and check fan feature only?
As much as I know the cooling system is not just the fan. The motherboard has several sensors which take care about material temperature overheating and critical. Maybe one of them does not work correctly.
In my opinion, you should contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help.

  • Satellite C660-223 - system caution: "" problem with cooling detected system "".

When I carry my Satellite C660-223 somewhere for example wear at home to College in a protective case in my backpack, I sometimes get a window warning flashing upward every 20 seconds or so said system + "warning: a problem with the cooling system has been detected." Please turn the computer off immediately and return it for service. +

This only happens when I transported somewhere and as a first step, that these warnings system flashed only sometimes upwards after I hauled somewhere, but in the last two years, he started to get pretty much whenever I took the laptop somehwere. When the system warnings blink until the computer doesn't feel a little warmer than normal. no danger of overheating, immediately.

I didn't fix it because the problem seems to resolve itself the next time that I carried the computer somewhere. It's a very strange problem where the short-term solution was the same as the cause: as in I would take the laptop somewhere, the warning system flash upwards and I learned that take "for a walk" would fix somehow everything which was the 'problem '. I solved the problem in this way too often so he could be a coincidence.

So for a while it wasn't really a problem because I just didn't take the laptop anywhere. But the warning system has recently start flashing to the top if I wear just the laptop on the floor, and the warning system does not disappear with my method incredibly non-tech-savvy to "go for a walk", which I am sure many here would give something to laugh :).

The obvious answer is that I need to get the service pronto thing, but I'm in the middle of final exams and the situation of tech in my house means I can't leave the laptop away for service for who knows how long when I really need to study.

Responses, I'm hoping to get are ideas as to what actually caused this problem and short-term solutions that are a little better informed that my approach "going for a walk".

I think THAT what is, is that the movement to carry your laptop around in a backpack something within the done cooling system moving out of place causing the evil TI work. I say this because, while writing this thread I was turn the laptop over and over again to get a look at the stickers on the back and the practice that seems to have "solved" the problem of warning system because this window flashes up while he was only a few minutes ago.

It seems so that all component moved his place before been moved back again by the movement to turn the laptop over and over. And I was not even take him for a walk!

    Any help? Thanks in advance.

    Hello

This notification may appear for different reasons.
The alert might appear due to
    (1) cooling system malfunction
    (2) blocked cooling vents or fans
    (3) software question (VAP - added value package or BIOS)

Malfunction of the cooling system, you should contact the service agents at the difficulty.

In case of a blocked vent and fans it s enough to clean the parts using a jet of compressed air.
This allows to get rid of dust inside the cooling module.

If the vents are not blocked and you still see this message, check the application of the service station for updates on your computer. If any are found, download and install.
You can try to uninstall or update the Toshiba value added Package. This package contains a few essential tools and utilities that control the cooling system too.
    Also check BIOS update.

But if you continue to receive this error, your laptop may require repair

  • Satellite P500-12D - a problem with the cooling system has been detected.

    Hi there everyone,

I bought a Satellite P500-12D, which was a return of retail. When I start it up it runs a few minutes and then it appears on the screen:
WARNING: A problem with the cooling system has been detected. Please, turn off computer immediately and return it for service.

Follow the health of toshiba CPU is less than 50% temp and if it goes much higher that the cooling fan turns on and it lowers down and the fan stops again, I noticed that only the fan works r/h to cool the cpu, both should come together? What is a software problem?

TThe unit is new without even the plastic off the surround screen or webcam. Any help or even point me in the right direction would be much appreciated, gary

    Hello

Which program gives you this error message about the cooling system?

Before contacting a service partner, as you can read in the error message, you must clean the cooling system using a jet of compressed air. Maybe dust blocking the fan or something else. Of more to clean up it of not necessary to disassemble.
Here is an article on this topic: [how to clean a Toshiba laptop cooling system? | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=40]

If it doesn't help, contact the nearest service partner.

  • Problem of satellite L850 - warning system - one with the cooling system

My L850 Satellite has a future warning system
"WARNING: a problem with the cooling system has been detected."

Please, turn off computer immediately and return it for service. »
Is this a known glich or should I take it back to the store
The lappy is only 4-5 months out of the box.

In my opinion you should not waste your time to discuss in the forums. Laptop is fairly new and should work just fine, so my opinion is that you should contact your dealer or supplier of Toshiba service directly and ask for help.

Do you know how to find the nearest Toshiba service provider?

  • Satellite C660D - a problem with the cooling system has been detected

My laptop is a * Toshiba Satellite C660D-11th * and I have a message that keeps coming up every once in a while 'alert system' head and reads as follows: "WARNING: a problem with the cooling system has been detected." (Next line) Please, turn off computer immediately and return it for service. »

I had this warning for the coming weeks and it tolerated, but it worsened and annoyed me for the last time. I can hear the fan and the computer is not over heating (the CPUCool freeware tool detects a 51º CPU temprature C). No further questions arise as the computer slows down, it is right in the path of what I do, like typing right now.

I tried to solve the problem by changing the "Power Options" in the control panel of Windows 7 'High Performance', and then selected under the 'battery' both 'Sector' columns, 'Never' for the parameter "put the computer to sleep. It seems to work, and no error message has occurred since then. However, this is not a solution...

Please help quickly, this prevents me from working and even other things now.

    Thank you

    Hello

Usually, this message would appear if something is not wrong with the cooling system. But I read here in the forum that maybe it's a bug of software and after new system recovery this message should no longer appear.

But if you notice some upper temperature or abnormal noises, then I recommend to check this with a service technician

  • Error message "A problem with the cooling system" on Satellite A660

    Hi all

Hope I can get help here. I got about 5 laptop computers HP after each of them had problems and errors. I got sick of them and so got a refund and bought a high spec A660-1FH.

The A660 is a great laptop for two days until yesterday when I started having a saying of warning message "a problem with the cooling system has been detected. Please turn off the power immediately and return it for service "."

The cpu fan works fine you can here it turns and the temperature of the processor i5 - 460 m is around 40 degrees for two hearts - that seems normal to me. I noticed that this happens only when running on battery, and if you switch from eco utility to the power saving mode. Its fine when running on the "balanced" power setting The fan is louder before when this message appears.

Like its less than 28 days my retailer swapped it for a brand new immediately. Got a new home page, and the same message reappears. Everyone knows this. Like two laptops had this, I was wondering if it is normal that the laptop A660 series or if it was really a hardware problem?

I tried to update the eco utility and the bios of the laptop, but the two are the latest versions. Can someone help or share if they have a similar problem with their laptop?

    Thank you

In front of me, I have Satellite A660-13 q (PSAW3E) and I have about 6 weeks now. It works almost 10 hours a day and so far I didn't notice this message or anything that may be suspect for the operation of the equipment.

I put really know why this happen on your laptop and don t think that there is nothing you can do about it.
I would trade it again. What you can also try is to contact the closest service Toshiba. Make a call, explain the situation and ask if they can help you with this.

  • Satellite A660 - message: WARNING: a problem with the cooling system

My laptop recenly started giving the error "Warning: a problem with the cooling system has been detected." Please turn off computer immediately and return it for service"- Yes the fan had stopped working and touchpad area was hot.

So I take it on the type of service (toshiba) and must answer for fan, Mo, HARD drive, he said. Is this possible? -J' I have extended warranty, but is ' t it much? not to mention that it takes a month to get things down.

He also mentioned that I could use the machine with a cooling pad until then if I wish.

    Any feed back?

    > Yes the fan had stopped working and touchpad area was hot.

In this case, there is really a hardware problem.
But I m wondering why he should replace the HARD drive and the motherboard
Perhaps only the cooling module began at malfunction of course this is just a speculation
If the technician has checked the material, then they need to know what parts are not OK.
So don t think you have no choice.

But the guarantee is valid for all is free
