Support ID3 tag to determine the order of play

Hello

I read about the problems, the Clip has in getting the correct reading order, for example here, but I can't seem to make it work. Audiobook mp3s are labeled with ID3v1.1, ID3v2.3. I tried to use Mp3tag to set the ID3v2.3 to ISO-8859-1. All files have the same name of Album, athletics # a value XXX/YYY (ex: 001/145) for ID3v2.3 and 1, 2, 3... 145 for ID3v1.1. Title tags are on 'Track 001', «track 002"...»

I can't understand why the files do not play in order...    Anyone have any ideas?  (except using playlist, because I won't be forced using that)

Does anyone have any idea on when this new version of the firmware (which is supposed to solve these problems) is to come?  Someone wrote a few weeks it would probably come out in a few weeks ago...

Sincerely,

Carl

P.S. If Sandisk won't spend enough money to keep the amount of programmers needed to produce firmware quickly and efficiently, perhaps Sandisk should consider assisting people to Rockbox on so that users with higher applications can use their software instead. I understand that Sandisk is not a) distribute detailed information on everything about their players and b) vouch for the security/stability of Rockbox. But it doesn't have to be a problem. SanDisk could leave small fractions of the information (which is necessary for Rockbox crew clear some obstacles) and Sandisk could also say that 'we cannot guarantee that any other firmware that ours will work with our players and if you use a different firmware, for example Rockbox Sandisk warranty sucks." It's all good - as long as those of us who have demands more high on firmware get a solution that responds to that!  I think of things like the id3 support to reading to work order and the ability to adjust different parameters, for example the speed of the titles of the songs that are too wide for display.

Hello again,

After countless hours of research and testing, I now realized in the order in which the Clip plays the tracks when using firmware 02.01.16 (I really hope a new firmware that corrects these problems is available soon, as promised).

As has been set out in the thread I linked at the earliest:

When no id3v2 tag is present, the titles are sorted by sequence numbers rightmost in the name of the file.

However, I used id3v2.3 tag to ISO, as is the recommended version that the firmware currently supports a little OK. The problem I had, however, was that I used numbers track such as "001/145" and not only "001". Now, according to id3.org, using a character ' / ' followed by a string of numbers to indicate the size of the entire securities is valid standard id3v2.3 - but obviously the Clip doesn't respect that. I hope that this is also fixed with the next version of the firmware.

Kind regards

Carl

P.S., Why should I do research/test so to find something as simple as that? Where is the complete guide, published by Sandisk, which covers these things? Here again, questions such as these id3 problems should have be fixed early on (making the chapter in the guide on relatively short tracks sorting).

P.P.S. I was serious about the suggestion of Rockbox: thinking outside the box! Provide assistance to the crew of Rockbox, without revealing a lot of sensitive information (trade secrets), and without having to officially support Rockbox should be possible - and that would be actually a selling point to many users who want to buy a mp3 player which allows more freedom of choice. Dare to be different!

[edit: I put this thread as "Resolved", even if the underlying problem (the clip tag id3 support) is far from solved.]

  • How Mapviewer to determine the order of preference of the label?

I have a set of features that require labels, some have a higher priority label others (New York city vs Newark) how mapviewer to determine the order in which it adds tags to the card, so bumps from New York, Newark, and not the other way around?

It works the same way for advanced styles?

MapViewer determines priority based on the order of the topics in the definition of the map.
In a theme, the order of style in a theme rules determine priority.

For example, if you have two CitiesA and CitiesB themes and CitiesA appears before CitiesB in the mapdefinition then
    CitiesA gets priority.

And in CitiesA, let's say you have these rules:

    (is_capital = 'Y' and the > 300000 people)

    (is_capital = 'n' and population > 750000)

    (is_capital = 'n' and population between 500000 and 750000)

    (is_capital = 'n' and population between 300000 and 500000)

So here, capitals get priority over cities with a population of 750,000, etc..

  • The CF tag to determine the length of the mp3 file on the server

I need a way (a custom tag, perhaps?) for the CF to determine the length of a file audio mp3 on the server.

I found a tag of 2000 by Lewis A. Sellers III (alias Min) called CFX_AudioInfo which was written for CF 3.1 and Windows NT... It was my first CF server, but now I need something more recent... anyone knows Mr. Sellers? Or some other advice for me?

  • How to determine the order of the entries in the menu displayed on the controller menu plugin?

I found in the plugin Resource Guide.pdf:

    -----------------------------

    Int16 PIPriorityProperty 0x70727479L
    ("prty")
Plugin load order. Also used for control
the order in the elements with the same
    name appear in the menus.
    Lower number (including negative
Ones) loading first. If NULL, the default value is
    zero.

    -----------------------------

Now, I have a few plugins, but I saw that in the same category, the menu items are indicated by order lexicographically (A:up Z:down), but not by their priority properties. In addition, each category is organized by lexicographic order of the name now. This means, if I change the name of plugin to another language, order will be different, it's inconvenient for users. Fixed what I could do to get an order? Any ideas will be appreciated.

You can get 2 identical names by mistake, with versions of a plugin, or features that overlap (such as alternative file formats).

No, there is no way to get an absolute positioning of elements of a plugin menu.

And the reference to the suites makes no sense.

  • Windows Media Player 11. Way to change the batteries in the album art library the order in artist view?

    Hello

    (A purely aesthetic problem here)

In windows media player when look at a library in the artist discovers mode, my albums are indicated as "batteries" under each name of respective artists. What determines the order of these batteries? Is it possible to choose the order yourself?

I want to be able to choose because I don't like the look of some of my album covers, and I'd rather have my favorites upstairs.

    Thank you very much

    Adam

    Hi Adamclarke,

You can sort albums by choosing the options to sort the album art, title, length, rating and other areas.

Above the albums listed, right-click on the album and choose sort by album. In the same way, you can sort the other areas.

  • Windows Media Player re - arrange the order of the songs when I burn it to a cd

Message: Hi, I just have a question and I hope that someone could answer as soon as possible when I'm trying to burn audio CDs on my computer (using windows media player), he re - arranges them in a different order in which I wanted to be they... Does anyone know how to burn in the exact order that I want them to be?

I would be grateful if someone could send me an email with the answer... my email is: * e-mail address is removed from the privacy *.

    De : Jeff Richards

Response: How do you determine the order in which the files were written to the CD? If you view the contents of the CD using Windows Explorer, the files are classified in the way that the browser has been set to see, not the way they have been written to the CD.

If you need them to be in order for other purposes, for example to play in a particular order in your drive, then you must determine how that player chooses the order in which to read the files - it is probably not the order in which they are copied to the CD.

  • changing the order of export format

    Hi all

I want to change the order of the columns in the file exported in FDM according to my needs. How can I change the order of columns in the exported file? Please help me in this.

    Thank you!

Take a look in the script Export Action of any adapter you are using. This is where the output format is defined.

I forgot to mention if you use the Essbase adapter, you can do so via the definition of the sequence of calc for each dimension, which will determine the order that it appears in the output file. This can be set in the web client or workbench

    Hello

I'm trying to find how we can determine the order in which questions (folios) will appear in a custom Viewer (multi-folio with subscriptions).

I tried to change the order by changing the date of publication in the Folio producer Oorganizer, but it has no effect in the iPad's custom Viewer.

Publication date parameters determine the order of the folios in the library, then it should work. You're updating the folios?

  • ID3 tags to change during the transfer on USB

When my iMac to transfer on a USB mp3 tracks, the ID3 tags are somehow get reversed. My car stereo then displays the correct track number, but plays and the false name of audio and the railway. In this particular case, I try to transfer an audiobook with 66 chapters. I named the files 001, 002, etc. in order to read in the correct order. ID3 tags are named Chapter 1, Chapter 2, etc. I can't understand why so, when read in my car, it will show track 001, but read the audio Chapter 4 and show Chapter 4. The funny thing is, does it only on my Mac. If I transfer files from my Mac to work they correctly and display all the correct information. I tried to copy from iTunes and from the finder directly and pass the ID3 info in both directions; They even produce different results, but both are mixed up. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

I don't know how to copy the files on your player could possibly change the iD3 tags.  They are part of the file, and it would be like saying take a book on a shelf and put it in a box caused some pages from the book to the book.  Are you sure that the track numbers you see are the real file names?  I think the most likely is despite the naming convention of the file that you are using your player somehow files out of use.  I imagine that you have provided the correct order in the track number and if there are a number of disk that it conforms to the order you want too.
