  I think that it is a very basic question, but I'm stuck. I have a structured application that is supposed to use an XSLT to preprocess files. I added a XMLApplication/XSLTPreferences/pre-treatment/Stylesheet; I have tried manually with the designer. Now, I try to open an XML file in a book and it does not seem to use the style sheet at all. He asks for the type of application, I select, and then it just opens the file as it was without applying the XSLT.

  Could someone please explain to me how this is supposed to work?

  Background: I have a structured application put in place by someone else who already has the right structure and have already put it in a book. I want to write an XSLT for the same file but through the pre-treatment of the instructions for the conditional tags, but cannot enforce. I'm good in XSLT, but my level FrameMaker is a novice.

  It should work, because from your description, it seems that you are doing everything correctly. So, let me ask the obvious questions, no intention to insult you:

  -You're absolutely sure that the path in structapps is correct? Have you tried both an absolute and a relative path?

  -Are you sure that you add the parameter to the correct structapps file? More recent versions of FM maintain two copies... one in the installation of FM area and one in the box user/AppData. At the start, FM "merges" parameters of the two. If there is a request at a time with the same name, I think that the users area is a priority and the other definition is simply ignored.

  -Are you sure that XSLT works? In other words, you ran it on one of your files source manually?

  I know it works because I use the feature regularly, like many others. There must be something simple going wrong here.

  I'm implementing the doctype version 'machineryTask' of the element 'task' in FrameMaker 10.

  Can someone point me to even how to start thinmking on this subject?  Do I have to create my own EDDs and applications?

  I don't see that it is supported "out-of-the-box" with FrameMaker 10.

  In theory, it should work "out of the box"... at least, there is a demand of defined structure called 'DITA_1.2_machineryTask '.

  Try this...

  (1) DITA Options: make sure that the Version of DITA is set on DITA 1.2

  (2) and in the use of Application Mapping, select "DITA 1.2 Applications.

  3) click on the button «...» "and in the Manager DITA Application Mappings, select the doctype 'task' in the scope, replace 'DITA_1.2_task' 'DITA_1.2_machineryTask '... Click on Add/Edit, then OK.

  (4) choose Save in the DITA Options (probably not really necessary if)

  (5) setting reboot (also perhaps not necessary...) YMMV)

  (6) create a new task of the DITA > new file menu DITA... this (should) will be a machineryTask. (If you export the EDD of the task that is created, it should show that it uses this ESD.)

  I think that the right way to go is to create a new application mapping section, then simply select in the dialog box Options of DITA main rather than replace the essential task with machineryTask... but you should get the idea.

  If you look in the application structure definitions file, you will see all types of available topics.

There is a column for them in the download window, but it is empty. What do I have to wait for Adobe to get back to work on Monday?

  , We are trying to move from 11.1.1.7 to 12.1.3 JDeveloper. We have developed a number of xsl maps in 11.1.1.7 using the function oraext:query - database Oracle extension (where the namespace oraext is xmlns:oraext ="http://www.oracle.com/XSL/Transform/java/oracle.tip.pc.services.functions.ExtFunc" "). This works in JDeveloper 11.1.1.7 when the test of the card where the call to the map looks like this:

  It seems that it cannot find the ojdbc6.jar file, but I don't see where that should be added.

  OK, I realized that the extension functions XPath of Oracle do not appear in my XSLT Map Editor component palette. I also see that when I change the XPath of the oraext:query - database is highlighted by JDev as being invalid. I think my problem is with the extension being not loaded XPath functions.

  OK, after working with the support of the Oracle, the answer is that the ojdbc6.jar did indeed need to be added to the configuration of JDeveloper 12.1.3. To do this the following line was added at the end of the jdev.conf file:

  AddVMOption - Xbootclasspath/r:... /... /.. /oracle_common/modules/Oracle.jdbc_12.1.0/ojdbc6.jar

  The jdev.conf file is located in your Oracle_Home\jdeveloper\jdev\bin directory. Don't forget to adjust the relative path to match your environment. In addition, please note that the only spaces in the AddVMOption line are a space immediately after "AddVMOption".

  Another concern in this thread that the functions of data base in the XPath Group advanced components from the component Palette was missing. The groups Advanced general XPath XPath and XSLT components model will appear only in the component Palette if the application is a SOA application.

  A score more. I don't know if Oracle sees this as a bug and the ojdbc6.jar to be in the classpath without the user set it up like that in the jdev.conf. If it's a bug, and then if all goes well it will be resolved in a future release, and this configuration will be necessary.

  In InDesign, I can choose to create a PDF to print or interactive PDF. I don't see this parameter in FrameMaker. Is it possible to create an interactive PDF from a FrameMaker file that has an interactive 3D object imported so that the 3D object will work in the PDF?

  If you use the route Print to creatr a PDF file, thn you need to check the option 'Generate Acrobat data' to make interactive PDF files.

  Two basic for FrameMaker 12 purchase options are:

  Perpetual license:

  Full version $ 999

  $399 from the previous version update
