  • SP A60: As soon as the day before, why devices do not work?

    Hello

A question on my Toshiba Satellite Pro A60 (P2.8GHz, 40 GB, Win XP Pro, delivered to the factory and expanded with Belkin 54 G wireless PC card network adapter).

When the laptop awakens from the day before, several devices no longer work, for example the wireless network card. I have not found something to check (UN) Wake-On-Lan, resume, power management or something similar.

After a full reboot, everything works fine again.

What could I do to let all devices work the same after waking from standby?

Thanks in advance for your answer.

    Kind regards

It is a security option. If it will work with your Setup, I would use it.

  • SQL to retrieve data from the day before

    Hello

I am asked to collect intelligence data and generate a daily report to determine the success rate (to do daily data that determines success rate). I have a session_time of column (with the DATE data type) that I try to do the job. I've been using:

    Select * from ABC

    where session_time > = TRUNC (SYSDATE - 2)

Gives me data, but I get the data from 26/10/14 and 10/28/14 so when I only need data on 27-10-14 (as of the day 28/10/14). I tried a few variations and did not get the expected result. Could someone please help me understand this? Time is also displayed in my outings, maybe I shouldn't include the time?

I use: TOAD for Oracle 11.5.1.2.

    Use:

    SELECT *.

    ABC

    WHERE session_time > = TRUNC (SYSDATE) - 1

    AND session_time<  trunc="">

    ;

It's 09:15 on October 28, 2014, then TRUNC (SYSDATE - 2) is 00:00:00 October 26; The query you posted became data of October 26 and later.  (You may not all future dates in your table.)

If it's 09:15 October 28, then TRUNC (SYSDATE) is 00:00:00 October 28 (i.e., midnight, at the beginning of October 28) and TRUNC (SYSDATE) - 1 is 00:00:00 October 27.

Do not be tempted to use

    WHEN TRUNC (session_time) = TRUNC (SYSDATE) - 1 * INEFFECTIVE!  ***

It will get the same results, but it is slower, you cannot use an index on session_time and requires a call to separate function for each row in the table, it is selected or not.

  • Move the data to another file system file - affects on the day before in a DG?

If I want to move a file of data to another file system, because the current file system is full, I'd take the tablespace offline and unix, copy the data file to the new location and rename the tablespace to the new location.

How would behave the night before in a dataguard environment? The DOF would apply, but could I take a tablespace offline space, waiting for read-only copy the data file on the unix sleep?

    Hello;

I think that this would be ' rename a Datafile in the primary Database.

If you don't rename the data corresponding to the watch system and then attempt to refresh the database backup control file, the standby database will attempt to use the data file renamed, but it will not enter into it. (the change is not propagated to the database pending)

See Section 8.3.4 rename a data file in the primary database in the Document Oracle B14239-05 (Oracle10)

This is a step by step on how to handle this.

  • Satellite U400D-201 - need for electricity from the day before

    Hello

Toshiba does not provide XP drivers for laptop Turion based!
I bought the laptop U400d-201 and spent ages running under XP.

Still can't find Power Saver utility to work on my machine. I guess that not everything will work?

    Hello

I m wondering that you want to install Windows XP on this laptop new and very fast. I think that Windows Vista works well on this laptop.
I have a Satellite U400 (the same as you but with Intel CPU) with Vista 64 bit. I m very satisfied with this combination.

In any case, I think that the drivers, you will need to collect on external Web sites. Maybe, you can find some drivers that they work on your laptop.

On the energy-saving, I can suggest only you should try the U400. Maybe this works on your laptop too.
But don t forget, maybe this tool is designed for Intel processors only

  • what point of time duplicate database for the DORECOVER of the day BEFORE

    Hello
Please specify at what point in time option DORECOVER will recover standby base 10.2.0.3
-at the beginning of the moment of the order duplicate
-so far as archivelog are provided?
    -Another option :)
    Kind regards.
    Greg

If you do not specify an UNTIL clause, it attempts to RECOVER up to the most recent ArchiveLog generated by the Production database (target). He knows because he connects to the target instance as well. (10 g, you will need to connect to the target).
DUPLICATE a DATABASE error during RECOVERY if the last archivelog has not been copied to the standby server.
Therefore, it would be good to be
    a. copy the archivelogs from production to the waiting
    OR
    b. specify an UNTIL clause

To open the standby database in read only mode, run the SQL statement on the physical standby server
    SQL > ALTER DATABASE RECOVER MANAGED STANDBY DATABASE CANCEL;
SQL > ALTER DATABASE OPEN READ-ONLY.
    SQL > ALTER DATABASE RECOVER MANAGED STANDBY DATABASE DISCONNECT LOG FILE USING CURRENT;

You must cancel the recovery process before opening the database.

  • M400: I have solved the problems of the day before

    Hello

I suffered all the problems on IE locks, don't not recovery from sleep mode and sometimes of hibernation and the continuous fan running.

After changing things like crazy, I think I have solved at least sleep mode and hibernation, problems of updating the chipset and the Intel's IDE software. You can install it on top of Toshiba drivers with no problems.

    Chipset: http://support.intel.com/support/chipsets/inf/
    Storage: http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df-external/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=2101

But I was unable to update Intel video driver, as any method I have chosen to do so tells me an incompatible driver, asking me to contact the OEM manufacturer.

  • Where the day before on a 700 wireless keyboard?

I bought a Wireless deskset, 700, worm. 2 and cannot find a way to tell the computer in standby mode.  My OS is XP, sp3.  The keyboard has an A on the cap lock key and a 1 press the locking num without explanation.  No documentation in the instructions.

The caps lock has a capital ("capital") Letter A, and the NumLock key is the graphical number '1' as a reminder (i.e., an icon) what do the keys.

When the caps lock shift key is enabled, you press a button any alphabetical gives the corresponding uppercase letter.  There is usually a light top right of the keyboard that lets you know when caps lock is "on".

The NumLock key is similar.  See this:

The NumLock key exists because keyboards from PC of IBM 84 previous keys had no separate numeric keypad arrows. Num Lock to choose between the two functions. ... Given that most modern desktop computers have a keyboard full size with a paved digital and arrow keys separate, Num Lock is rarely used for its original purpose and ends up confusing the user if it is for a reason any activated unless the user is aware of this.

As with the Caps Lock key, there is usually a light indicating if NUMLOCK is 'on '.
Some Microsoft keyboards have a "Sleep" button, and some do not.  If your keyboard does not have a sleep key, you can install IntelliType (which can be entered the CD with your keyboard or download it here) or AutoHotKey and assign a function to a button of your choice.

There are several ways to put your computer into standby mode, it is probably easier to use the command line feature of Show Stopper of Karen.

  • No sound on the awakening of the day before, screen problems

When I wake up my laptop in standby or hibernation, I have no sound. When I check the Device Manager it is there no audio device detected. When I wake up, the screen has a bunch of white lines on it for a while, that finally clears. Both of these problems appeared at the same time a month ago. I don't know if this has to do with an update that I had some time, some kind of virus, or something else. AVG detects no virus. When I restart, all right. I'm running Windows 7 on a Toshiba Satellite A215-S4697 with plant material (except the RAM, I've updated).
