Software deleted files still in computer science

I use a HP s5310f w/4 GB of ram, 600g hd, Win 7, IE8, Norton 2010.

I had a lot of problems with Roxio Creator 2010 and ended up uninstalling because whenever I tried to reinstall I would get the error message "certificate missing or corrupted", and Roxio/Sonic could not solve the problem. I also uninstalled the Roxio Photo Show softwarwe as well. I used Revo uninstaller with advanced registry scan for the two facilities. However, when I click on start and type Roxio in the search box, a list will appear showing always almost 36 000 files in my computer which are Roxio Roxio and associations.

My question: If the software has been uninstalled, and leftover files deleted from the register, what are the files 35 000 + and why are they still in my computer?

I am tempted to select all and delete, but do not know what happen to my computer if I did.

Any ideas/suggestions?

Hello boongsong, I have Roxio Creator 2011 Pro and shows 2 757 files, 285 folders. It is only in the Program Files folder and not all registry settings.

There must be something else.

    Hi Rachel,

    Thanks for your help.

I tried it & it didn't work but I was checking other messages on media players & I found this.

    Uninstall the Media Player

    Step 1

    Uninstalling Windows Media Player:
    1. go to start and in the search type "Turn Windows willing or not.
    2. click on "Turn Windows features on or off".
    3. browse the features of media (develop) and uncheck the brand in the face of Windows Media Player.
    4 restart the computer

    Step 2

    Reinstall Windows Media Player:
    1. go to start and in the search type "Turn Windows willing or not.
    2. click on "Turn Windows features on or off".
    3. browse the features of media (develop) and place a check mark in front of the Windows Media Player.
    4 restart the computer.

I've tried it & it worked. Initially, there was no change so I've let it go & 10 min later that everything was back to normal. It must have reset the media player. I wish I could find this post once again to thank :)

  • If I use VMWare Migration Assistant to move my PC to my Mac, it will make the useless PC (disable the software, delete files, etc.) or it just creates new usable by my Mac molten files?

I have a PC with Windows 7, my brother uses, but I would like to use Windows 7 on my Mac. I'm afraid that this program can make the PC unusable by disabling the software or deleting important files. This will happen or it just creates new files that can read my Mac? In addition, the new files will require me to register the software (Windows 7, Microsoft Office, etc.), or he'll accept it?

    Thank you

    Dan

You can P2V Ubuntu as much as you want and it leaves intact with the exception of any software source P2V you install, which is why with most of the Linux distributions I choose to use Clonezilla Live by creating first and empty VM with a VHD in the same size that the disk source hard and then start the physical Machine and the VM with Clonezilla Live and the disk image source hard to target hard drive via the local network.  Once image of the Virtual Machine will generally start without any problem and you now have a clone of work.  If you can not networked together, you can create an image on a USB key and restore the target of the Virtual Machine from the USB, for example.

To the extent where Windows 7, you will have problems of WPA that can reach the source as well as to run WPA on either and once WGA is running on both.  Nothing gets deleted however I read messages when some users have ended up losing access to the Source and the machine virtual without having to purchase additional licenses.  So which overturned a legal issues however doing a P2V with Windows 7 could be problematic.

Bottom line is that you must observe the EULA for the product!

  • Deleted files still appear in the Organizer

Here is what happened. I bought the PSE to my mother so that she would not keep losing its photos. She is at the age where she can break any program, no matter how foolproof. She didn't remove the images from the camera card after you download it, it then downloaded files multiple times to create multiple copies (I have PSE has been fixed to not allow this, but it happened). So now, she passed by windows and delete each duplicate from his computer. The problem is that always duplicates appear in the Organizer. I thought that the record shows should auto update what files are actually on the machine.

    max1313 wrote:

Is there a way to tell it to update? Even if it is not automatic.

Once something has been changed in Windows Explorer instead of the Organizer, you have only two characteristics of the Organizer to help you.

    • The first is the "watched folders" feature, which compares the list of files already saved to the organizer and the contents of the folder. If there are new files, you will be asked to register.
    • The second is the function of "reconnect missing files. This concludes missing files, i.e. files previously in the catalogue record and which have been deleted, moved, or renamed in Windows Explorer. It is very effective to find missing files, it can also help you to "reconnect" files that have been moved, but it can be more difficult. If the files have been renamed, you must reimport them as new files.

If you do not use the "watched folders" (I have not...), you can try to re-import manually in each folder ("get photos or videos files or folders... ') »). The good thing is that the files already present in the catalogue will not import a second time. Among other problems, the renowned, once removed from the catalog and re-imported files lose all their previous tags and attributes.

So, Yes, the organizer can help you recover such errors and it is good to know how to do (just in case), but you'll soon discover it's so much easier and safer to trust Organizer for all of these tasks.

iTunes keeps a local library on your computer. To avoid this problem in the future, set the iTunes preferences to "copy files to iTunes Media... folder. "and let iTunes"Keep iTunes media folder organized. »

With these settings, you can safely remove the 'original' files after import you them into iTunes.

    # Software is necessary.

First check the recylcl tray. If she isn't here, read the following:

"Deleting" a file does not delete actually it brand just space be used. There are third-party programs that can sometimes recover deleted files. The problem is that the space used by the file is likely to be replaced very quickly, and this makes the unrecoverable file.

So your chances of successfully recover this file are decent, if you try it again immediately after deleting it and quickly down. If you have used the computer since then (for example to read this answer and write that question), your chances may be very weak now.

But if the file is large enough, it's still worth a try. Stop using the computer in question immediately, if you haven't done so already. Download an undelete program (in here is one: http://www3.telus.net/mikebike/RESTORATION.html but there are many other choice; do a search) on a friend's computer and bring it to you on a diskette, CD, or drive to the thumb.

If that fails, your only recourse is to bring or send the drive to a professional file recovery company. This kind of service is very expensive and may or may not work in your case.

You cannot retrieve files deleted with the help of software. And even using
software, you may or may not be able to recover.

What you have against the use of software? The first thing to try is to

  • How to retrieve deleted files from sony cyber shot camera without having to download any software

I accidentally deleted my pictures of sony cyber shot camera... I want to restore their back, it's my favorite holiday photos, how to get hide them without downloading any software, can help anyone

Windows and MacOS don't come with the ability to restore deleted files. If you want to restore deleted files, you need to suppliment your computer with software that can do this. To get this kind of software on your computer, the simplest method is to download it. If you don't want to download it, perhaps you could ask a friend to download it for you and give it to you on a flash drive.

  • Cannot delete files and music always there but not display upward when I connect to the computer?

    Hi all

Recently, I had a lot of problems with the music does not or don't play not I decided to delete all my e260 music and start again.  That's where the real problem started.

For some reason I can't delete three of the albums on my player.  Each of the albums have what appear to be corrupted in them files. My computer does not recognize the file type and file extension is given so I don't know what they are.  Each file "appears" to 4 GB in size but that may not be appropriate for my e260 is obviously only 4 GB in size!

Whenever I try to delete them I get an error message reading "cannot delete file: cannot read the source file or disc»

I tried to update the firmware, reset e260 to factory default settings and made 'restore' thingy (where you hold registration and plug it into the computer, etc.) and these files are still there.

After reading this thing of disk checking on this forum, I did this.  I was then able to remove two of the albums, but when I tried to delete the third album renamed 'a' and the damaged file shows 0 bytes in size, but I still can not remove.  However, I can move it to the folder music to any other folder.  I just can not remove!  When I do, I get an error message saying "cannot delete f: cannot find the file specified. '.  Be sure to only specify the path and the correct name.

After all that I started my e260, and now I find that 2 other albums are always on it, even if they do not display any where when I connect it to the computer.  I can see and read these albums on the drive, and they seem well, they do not appear to be there when I plug it into the computer and look for them in windows Explorer.  The music folder is not hidden also.  These two albums are not part 3 albums that I could not remove, they are actually part of the new substance started sort of all these problems with the music does not and is not only now that they are the display upwards and play but are not appear when connected to the computer!

I know it's probably not a lot of information but can someone tell me how to fix this?  If not, can I just format the * bleep * thing or I'll then have an e260 dead?

    See you soon,.

    PKFFW

PS: Sorry for the long windedness of this post.

Format will not remove the firmware, which is the operating system of the Sansa. It removes only the content that you have added. It will go back to what it was when it was new out of the box.

MTP does not matter if you have never used it. The ghost album can be just a list remains in your database file. Nevertheless, we must get rid of this corrupt file, so Format is probably your best option.

For what it's worth, to connect with the PSG, your computer needs Windows Media Player 10 or 11 is installed. XP comes with WMP 9, so he will not see the Sansa in MTP mode. unless you have updated.

  • Help with my computer! All the deleted files, including recovery! What's past and how to fix it?

Hello. So a few days ago I restarted my computer. Literally restarted my computer (turn off then turn onn) because my shortcuts do not work (the .exe would not launch files). I restarted my computer, and when I click on the shortcut, he said that there was no such destination. Soon I relised all my files are gone. I restarted my computer and you press F8 so that I can back to factory State, but the recovery has not worked and now im stuck at the facility because it looks like this: there is no for files recovery. Idk what happened but all my files and I installed software have disappeared. Someone can you please tell me what happened and how can I solve this problem?

100% recovery does not work! Using the computer in safe mode doesn't work.

My system doesn't have a backup of the files. The files just disappeared. All my files actually including the files for recovery. You say I should reinstall my windows using the CD/DVD. If this is the case, I have a problem because I don't have the CD/DVD for her. The paper in my computer box indicates that you must install it in the computer (deleted files). What can I do?

Your system does not have backups of your files/folders for you.  It is your duty to implement only or not.  If you do not the installer / make backups of your data - so you lose if/when something happens.

(The automatic backup of the system files needed) system restore is enabled by default - but can be disabled by the system administrator.

The "recovery" you used is not a feature of Microsoft or setup - which was created by the computer manufacturer.  They decided that it would be more easy/better to put the backup of the system installation media in the same place the user puts all their stuff - on the physical hard disk in the machine.  It is destructive or not is determined by the computer manufacturer and they even included a choice (destructive or non-destructive recovery) _ at the time use you it.  Each of them has been/is different.

You can contact the manufacturer of the computer and HOPE they always support of recovery for your computer and not you charge (or charge you a large part) to get the media said.

Can read this - it might help:
