The solution is to try to insert and remove the plug a dozen times or more in the hopes of convincing making fall out of optical mode and in electric mode.

    Hello

    ·         Are you able to hear the sound while playing music on the system?

If the problem is only with the sound/volume missing from the system tray icon, then you can follow the steps mentioned below and find the volume icon in the system tray.

To redisplay your volume icon in the taskbar

    (a) click Start.

    (b) in the search line type TASKBAR and STARTMENU

    (c) of the list of programs select bar TASKS and STARTMENU

    (d) select the tab area of Notification and under the system icons section, place a check next to VOLUME

    (e) click apply and then click OK

It should be visible in the toolbar again.

Please let us know if that fixes the problem or if assistance is needed.

  • Replace the missing paragraph Euro symbol

    Hi guys,.

For a report, I have to use a specific font which is a bit old and isn't the EURO symbol. I get the missing symbol 'rose' and it's too much time to change one by one to 40 pages. How can I replace just the specific symbol with a different font. I tried searching for text, but in fact there is no missing font is just a character 'in' this font.

    Any help or ideas?

    Thank you!

You want to use the glyph of edition tab > find/replace dialog box.

The following illustration shows what I've done. I took a text block in PostScript Type 1 old Melior font containing a glyph in the position of the Euro character. (I had copied the text of a font OpenType that contains the Euro character and applied the Melior police.)

Now, the character appears in pink did yours. Select the character of rose and the copy.

Enter the name of your font at the top and stick the pink character, as shown. Select the GID/CID since your police is not Unicode.

Choose a Unicode (like Adobe Minion Pro) font as font substitution. In the change glyph open the glyphs Panel menu, select Show: money to find the Euro glyph. He appears as shown.

Use the command find/replace to replace the character.

  • Missing the Green volume on the screen bar!

    Hello
I recently replaced the motherboard and the hard drive on my HP Pavilion m8200n, (he fell down). My computer guy did, and he reinstaled Windovs Wista Home Premium of its CD, the CD mine because were no good (it is what I was told). So I have none of the programs that came with the original model, and I have no Volume bar (white/green heart) that says you if your volume is on or Mute or present at the screen (desktop) when you turn off volume upwards or downwards. I do not know if I explained, but I don't know the name of 'good' for her. I looked online and what I basically read was that it can be restored back the original backup CD, and since I don't have one, use at least one, I can't do it. also, I read that it might be reinstaled even if someone sends you this 'program' and that I was not lucky to find one. could someone help me with this, please. Since I found this feature very useful and necessary. Thanks in advance

    Hi Kim,
Thank you very much for your reply, but before I could even read, I FOUND (and I'm very proud of him :) the solution for this problem.)

you are right that program volume bar is set by the manufacturer, in fact, it is, as I spoke with the service the customer of HP and ordered the new CD backup (hope I'll never have to them).
sometimes in the past, I have lost my Green volume bar and abandons the tought that I'll never see him again. then my computer crashed and I had to reboot and voila! my green bar was back. then, after posting my question here, I went online and noticed that it mentioned several times keyboard update (I noticed that two or three keys on my keyboard do not work after changing the card mother/hard drive). It made me think, somehow it looked connected to me, and I went to the HP Web site, entered my computer model # and listed on 10 or so updates to drivers (provided with this model) and which do not. There was an update for the keyboard, I closed my eyes and hit instal. After 20 seconds or so my beautiful, green (in fact it is blue-same as previously, it was if long actually, I forgot the color :))) volume bar is on my screen.what I can say, I feel smart reeeally ;)))

    conclusion:
There are a few things that come to mind, search this:
    1. check with your manufacturer of comps, first of all, each brand has its own "stuff", for example, the model of the Dells has another solution for this problem, as well as Toshiba, Acer, desktop or laptop (for the life of me, I could not find anything on HP)
    2. check here on this forum, some posts here gave me an idea which way to go
    3. don't buy HP! they put coins to the office, I paid more than $1,000, and they died 13 months after purchase (did I mention that I paid $422 repair/replacement motherboard and HD

    hope it helps someone

"Windows cannot display the control volume on the taskbar because the Volume control program has not been installed. To install it use Add/Remove programs in Control Panel. »

I have lost my Windows XP disc in a move and can't reinstall the file to a disk, how to fix this?

When you use certain features sounds and Audio devices, you see a message like this:

Windows cannot display the control of volume on the taskbar because the Volume control program has not been installed. To install it use Add/Remove programs in Control Panel.

It seems that the c:\windows\system32\sndvol32.exe file is missing.

This may occur if your antivirus/antimalware application thinks the file is suspicious and quarantines (effectively delete) the file.  You can replace the missing file with a backup copy of the file that is in another folder on your system.

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

Assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive...

We know that XP keeps copies of critical system files in the following folder:

    c:\Windows\System32\dllcache

Using the Explorer, search for or navigate to the following folder:

    c:\Windows\System32\dllcache

Locate the sndvol32.exe file, right-click, choose copy (it copies the file to the Windows Clipboard).

If your Solution Explorer settings are not set to display file extensions, you will see only a file called 'sndvol32' which has an icon that looks like to the volume control slider (this is the file you need).

If the file is missing in the dllcache folder, look for a copy of the file in this folder:

    c:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386

Browsing from a level in the following folder:

    c:\Windows\System32

Right-click on an empty area in the window of c:\windows\system32 and choose Paste to paste in the missing file where it belongs.

Answered in the affirmative if invited to replace the existing file.

Now try your features sounds and Audio devices.

Note that run sfc/scannow will not replace the missing file because it is not this that sfc/scannow does.

  • The missing files (NOT deleted) of the file/directory of the system drive NTFS

    Greetings!

I have a WinXP SP3 system with a SATA 2 TB to the additional internal address as a data reader. This player has only the data (.mp3, video) files in a directory and has never been used for anything other than data files. There is only one directory for the files, and although it is four levels of subdirectories to the bottom, the tree is only these four subdirectories.

A week ago, I noticed that the free disk space on this drive jumped from 350 GB up to 1.2 TB, leaving about 600 GB of data on the disc (about 2 500 files). After checking what is obvious (Rebreather, etc.), I noticed that the missing files were all from one file *. * to n *. * and [0-9] *. *. All files beginning with o *. * to z *. * are still there. So, essentially, Miss me about 9 000 files.

I checked to see if the missing files could be cancelled or retrieved and downloaded several utilities 'undelete' recovery or data. All public services showed that there was no data to recover, that is, the files just disappeared or evaporated.

Where did they go? I'm totally distraught about it.

The files are not hidden, because the reduction of space disk; hidden files still take up the space.

I didn't something in training in the hope of recovering the data. I thought that perhaps an index obtained corrupted or deleted because files deleted did not appear in the correct order of the directory index. I ran a chkdsk on the volume, he came to own, and the files were still missing. If the files have been deleted in alphabetical order, they would still be "deleted", recoverable files?

I also tried to see if I could do a restoration of the system to the point in time before the files have disappeared, but my System Restore says there is nothing to not restore, no action to take.

    Any ideas appreciated.

    ....k

R - Studio found the files missing, but only about 75% of them were really recoverable. Those who were not recovered was a length of zero byte. The advantage is that the names of the files were still intact, so at least I know which ones to re - create. The downside is that it's a few thousand files that need to be redone. That will take time, but a lot less time that I would have had to spend to recreate all missing files.

R Studio also found entries previously deleted files, and I got these, too. However, the recovered files are damaged and unusable. Given that I didn't really need those, it wasn't a problem. I mention this simply as something that R-Studio accomplished (and the other tools do not have).

The recovery is complete in terms of finding the missing files and restoring their readers to spare.  It took a lot of time, about three days I was doing piecemeal in bursts of 500 GB move the files recovered on spare disks. I'll move the files that I had not lost before out of the disc problem, as well, and then replace it. readers are cheap these days.   :-)

Thanks for the help! Also, thanks for the recommendation R-Studio; This is a very useful tool and well worth the expense!

  • Pavilion15-p018nz: Windows logon screen does not display the symbol of 'the eye' to reveal a password and the right arrow (input)

Which connection to Windows 8.1 the eye symbol and the symbol of the arrow to the right were posted up to that (I think so) after an automatic update of Windows. As I was intending to migrate to Windows 10 I na not invest a lot of research on this problem. Now, after the migration successful Windows 10 Home the problem still exists. After typing the password I can't check it out because the eye symbol is still missing and I have to press 'Enter' because of the clickable right arrow missing for the opening. All this happens with a Microsoft online account. I created an account local and with that, the symbol of the eye, but not the right arrow reappeared. Thanks a lot for help.

    Hi there @CKURT

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! It's a good place to find the help you need, so many other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff. I understand that you want to activate the icon reveal password for your system. I'm happy to help you.

It depends really on what version of the operating system you are running, because this kind of thing is normally controlled by using the Group Policy Editor. This tool is not a part of a home edition, you need the Pro version or later version for that.

Assuming that you do not have a pro edition or higher, then it can be a help to you:

Unfortunately, the version of Windows 10 I installed next to me is that the home edition as well, so I can't access to this, to check, so let me know if it works for you.

  • Can I remove random photos in the system volume information?

I understand very well this file.  I rarely restore, but sometimes I do.  The problem is that some files, aka viruses that have been removed, take place that I prefer to use for something else, aka my plans f #.  Can I delete random files in this folder?  I understand that I can remove the control panel restore point, but I want only to remove a specific file.  In fact, I don't know if this file is the file that I want to delete because of all the file names.  I made fair carsick enter this folder.  I want to just delete large files.  So the question is simply: is there something important it?

System Restore uses log files to keep track of things, if you try to restore a point and System Restore detects that which is missing files or that it has been tampered with the restore point will fail.  Bert Kinney, one of the greatest experts on the restoration of the system, explains that the individual restore points can not be removed because... "Each restore points is chained (or related) as well as the previous restore points." When you choose to restore a system all him previous restore point are required to perform a restore, so if one is missing the chain will be broken and cause all the restore points are corrupt. At this point, all restore points will have to correct the corruption. So the best advice is DON'T touch the content of the System Volume Information folder. " http://bertk.mvps.org/html/Tips.html#8

If you removed a virus if the deletion was successful and the system now works fine the best thing to do is to purge ALL restore points after having removed the virus successfully.

You're overthinking this and you're too attached to restore points, if the computer is running well at the moment and if it has been so for a week or two then you can get rid of and then restore points create a new.  Set maximum disk usage that is suitable for the points of restore and you will recover some of your disk space for another use.

In his blog Raymond says that 'folder contains casual interference could cause problems with the correct operation of the information system.  It could, but not necessarily cause problems.  For all its value, you can disable the system restore and other services that might use the IVR (indexing, Volume Shadow Copy & Distributed Link Tracking Service) (services that you might not use anyway) and then delete the entire folder, Windows simply creates a new brilliant when you restart!  Then when you restart the system restore or other services that use the folder they will just repopulate the record with their files.  People who make use of indexing service will generally not want to clear the folder because it takes a lot of "disk churning" to build a large catalog of indexation.
