Synchronization of thousands of eBooks for iPad

I have several thousand eBooks loaded in iBooks on my iMAC 27 "computer. I'm trying to synchronize iBook with a brand new iPad 64 GB mini4. IBook books record size is about 8.2 GB, so iPad mini 4 has a lot of storage capacity to hold all the books.

When I select in iTunes books "Synchronize books" is show me the right number of books in iBooks. When I hit APPLY the transfer to the iPad starts. However, after 500-600 books / stop the file transfer. And on my iPad, I see only about 200 pounds. Tried several times, still the same issue.

Also strange is the fact that when I select all books in iTunes, the list of books in iTunes shows that about 1/3 of the amount of all the books in my folder of the iBook.

I assign to sync bookmarks and sync iBooks and iPad Collections.

Any suggestion how to get all these books in my new iPad mini 4?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I had this same problem. ITunes stopped after that several hundred works have been copied on synchronization. I had to just keep running the sync button to get them all copied. However, if you keep clicking the button apply rather than the sync button, then restore the iPad since a previous or any other device if you have such. For example, on my WiFi iPad, I restored my iPhone 6. All copied books.

    There must be some .plist iBooks and iTunes use to communicate... can someone tell me what it is? I'm really leaning towards iTunes being the culprit since he got squirrels still after the most recent iTunes updated for iOS10.

    I refuse to use iBooks in the iCloud, because then you have to manually d/l all the books on the iOS device and as many books... Well, it's just not. I tried and it was horrible. Had to rebuild the whole iBooks library and I don't do that again.

  • Synchronization of folders for iPad free iCloud

    Hello world

    simple question > how can I synchronize folders created in the photos of my iOS devices app?

    From what I've read so far, it is only supported with iCloud, which I don't want to use for this purpose. I checked all the settings visible in the Photos and iTunes and on the iPad, but no luck. iTunes transfers all the photos, but without my folder structure they appeared all "where they want", but not in the logical order of my folders in the photos app.

    "It's not a bug, it's a feature" or what? I'm desperately looking for a transfer with a cable option.

    Thanks for your help

    With iTunes, you can synchronize the albums selected to the iPad, but only in iCloud library will synchronize the structure of library, including records.

    But the advantage of the sync to iTunes, you could synchronize the smart albums as well. iCloud library would only synchronize the standard albums and not the smart albums.

  • Prospects for iPad

    Hi all. This is my first post. Anyone installed the new perspectives for the iPad? At best, I can say that it is called "Outlook for iPad" and Android. I installed the app a couple of days on the App Store and tested only to send and receive a few mails which he did fine. In the app, the contacts are called 'People '. The issue I'm having is that the contacts of "Mail" does not automatically synchronize and I was able to find a way to sync. Contacted support within the app and was messaged that the contacts on the ipad should have synchronized automatically to the "people." He recommended that updated my account in the settings I've done twice, but this does not resolve the issue. Does anyone have an experience here?

    Thank you

    I use Outlook for my email from work that is a business account Office 365. The only contacts in 'people' are the ones in my outlook/exchange account of the work. None of my contacts on my iPad or iPhone contacts app migrated to outlook (which I'm happy that I don't want my business and personal contacts have merged).

    No 3rd party app should be able to access contacts iOS without the user actually a permission to do, and I don't see all the settings in Outlook or iOS Outlook settings access to contacts of iOS.

  • Help with solution of Liz Castro iBooks bug when resizing images in epub for iPad

    Hello world.

    I create an epub for iPad with small images that will expand when they are tapped. I read Liz Castro book and blog article and learned the bug with iBooks and the solution, which, like an HTML novice, I found it difficult to understand.  It took me some time to make it work, but I just wanted to share my (imperfect) progress for other laity or secular and ask for help!

    I just add this in my template.css

    {div. Group}
    Width: 50%! important;
    }
    img {width: 100%;}

    and in each of my html chapters where there is an image, I removed the img src reference that has been automatically generated by Indesign and added this...

    < div class = "group" >
    < img src = "exampleimage.jpeg" alt = "This is an example" / > "
    < / div >

    I rezipped my files, transferred to my iPad, and the images appear small and expand when double-tapped. Fantastic! Thanks to Liz Castro. It is a bigger step.

    But it is not perfect. I would like my image to be aligned to the centre and to ensure that there is some space between the text and the image. My images are now aligned to the left, and there is no space between them and the text preceding and following them, so that it looks like a mess on the page. Before I changed the code it worked well, after I changed it it does not work. When I initially exported the InDesign file, on the Image taitouche set the spacing to the Center and 2ems has added to the image and check the box to Insert a Page break before and after a page break.

    To remedy this, I added the following to the div.group in css

    text-align: center;

    top of the margin: 2em;

    margin-bottom: 2em;

    When I converted it to an epub I've seen there is no center of the image, but there was a margin at the top and bottom. While the file opens in the problem of Sigil that it won't transfer to iBooks on the iPad, which I think means that there is a coding error.

    Is anyone know how can I Center of the image and add some space between him and the text?

    Any help would be highly appreciated.

    Some things to consider:

    1 centering and space above and below your div can be done in CSS with:

    {div. Group}
    Width: 50%! important;

    top of the margin: 1.0em.

    margin-bottom: 1.0em;

    text-align: center ;}

    There might be other ways improve to achieve this. I am not an expert in CSS or HTML; I know that what has worked for me in previous projects.

    2. in iBooks, there is a bug (or "feature") which causes the iBooks to ignore text-align for some items (such as

    ) if iBooks preferences are set to full Justification = WE. Instead of being centered, these items will be left-aligned (or perhaps justified? I have not tested). This is the default setting, so most users likely to leave like that. (the elements are not affected by this bug.)

    This is detailed in one of the blog posts from Liz Castro and also on the blog of Walt Shiel:

    http://www.pigsgourdsandwikis.com/2010/06/beating-iBooks-bugs.html

    http://waltshiel.com/2010/06/23/one-solution-to-iBooks-1-1-centering-problem/

    One of them is to wrap the text inside such an element in the empty tags .

    3. I don't know what is your target audience, but keep in mind that iBooks is far behind Amazon and BN.com in terms of volume sales. Kindle and the Nook do not support resizing images (again, in any case), so unless your book depends on this photo processing to deliver his message, you could put a lot of time and effort in a feature that few readers (yet, cases) can take advantage of.

    4. If you use Twitter, you can follow the hashtag #eprdctn - it is used by a small community of designers in the ebook to exchange information on the evolving ebook design world.

  • Best alternative to Photoshop for iPad Pro?

    I am a print and web designer and I just bought an iPad Pro. IM has decided to try to work only on my projects using my new iPad Pro for the next few days. Certainly, it should not be a replacement for my iMac, but I want to give it a try.

    I notice that Adobe has a lot of products by way of illustration, but I don't see an alternative to Photoshop. Pixelmator is cool, but it's meh. Model of Adobe is also cool, but it lacks a lot of features.

    Has anyone found an alternative good photoshop that would allow me to create and edit PSD files, when I travel?

    No matter what other digital designers out there that the spirit of sharing their favorite applications?

    Thanks in advance.

    Adobe has many applications of Photoshop.

    Search the IOS App Store for only Adobe.

    If you want to maintain an all workflows Adobe, Photoshop, in order to get most of the functionality of Photoshop on a computer, you will need to use all the different Adobe Photoshop applications to work with.

    If you are using an older version of Photoshop and not the current Adobe Creative cloud suite with subscription, most Adobe applications, in order to better integrate them will pay for a monthly subscription of CreativeCloud or connect to your cloud Creative account if you are already paying a subscription.

    If you are using an older version of Photoshop, you'll need to use a service like DropBox Cloud or box or some other Cloud Service, like iCloud Drive Apple, Amazon Cloud Drive or GoogleDrive to bandy your work back and forth between your iPad and your computer.

    Adobe, I guess, won't or don't know how to create a version of Photoshop on iOS that is a close approximation of Photoshop on a full blown computer.

    Adobe Photoshop full in a variety of applications to cover different areas of Photoshop broke.

    You'll find yourself using the multiple applications of Photoshop to cover everything you do with full Photoshop.

    You'll find yourself using several apps to do a great many things, perhaps more easily on a computer, no matter what, in any case.

    This is how iOS works.

    There is not a single application that will cover everything that you could possibly need.

    Working in the iOS is mainly working with multiple applications.

    For the work and digital painting and illustration of image editing, you will find that you will have to constantly import/export files from an application to another.

    If you don't like this multiple iOS approach Photoshop app, your only alternatives are Pixelmator for iPad and may, in addition, http://bit.ly/joc0zm.

    I use apps and paint a little image editing applications, but Pixelmator and http://bit.ly/joc0zm are apps that are in the top of the applications on my big iPad Pro.

    There are other image editors and applications of paint you can use

    I have a little.

    I broke my screen, and now cannot drag to open it.  I have an alarm that don't go. I can let the battery die I know but I really want to be able to access and examine what are the texts I received today. I think that my ICloud is can be disabled. I also want to synchronize my phone before I take it buy a new one.  Is it possible to synchronize and watch my calendar for the next few days?

    Without entering your access code, it is not possible, unless your time is in iCloud. If this is the case, connect to iCloud.com to check your calendar.

    Good luck.

  • Confused. I thought that Firefox for iPad is out? I thought I downloaded but it can not find anywhere. If it's on iPad I want to install it now!

    I'm confused as to whether Firefox is now on iPad too. I can't find. I think it's downloaded?... If I want to uninstall now!

    This isn't Mozilla because it's a fake or a shell. The only thing that Mozilla had on itunes is the application Firefox Home as shown.

    Mozilla probably would have made a mobile version of Firefox for iOS for awhile now, if not for the Apple restrictions on what browser and JavaScript engines can be used.

    Mozilla was really a browser experience for iPad in June 2012, called Junior but of course, it does not use the familiar Gecko engine and say of JavaScript engine used by Firefox. From this moment on, is when some websites started popping up who claims to have a version for iPad, however.

    Hello Sid1, due to the restrictive policy of apple, it is unfortunately not possible to put in place and offer independent third-party browsers for idevices.

    Mozilla is against bringing the rendering motor & javascript in firefox on iOS, because apple only allows the use of its own webkit in terms for developers - as long as it does, Firefox and its ecosystem of the addon can be ported to iOS devices unfortunately.
