Tables set the column width

I took someone else's code and have problems with the width of the columns in a table for sizing.

I have a table to create three columns of work. The table is 905px wide and I want column 140, 350, and the rest in width.

If I put these values < td width = "140"... > etc., while they seem to be neglected, and the three columns are all the same width.

It seems fine in design mode but not in Live View or published. Can someone help me to overcome this please?

Thank you very much.

  1. Tables in HTML behave in their own way and you do not guarantee the width of columns
  2. Do not specify the widths of cell via (attributes) HTML).
    The width attribute in thetag is obsolete (the browsers are not required to support or to obey) and it was always a recommendation to the browser in any case, it was never a precise measurement are met.

    Use CSS. Add a style sheet in the header HTML property page:

    th#ALIAS,
    td[headers="ALIAS"] {
      width: 40%;
    }

    where the ALIAS value in the attribute selector matches the required column alias.

    Please note that the specified percentages compared to the width of the report table. Therefore, it may be necessary to also specify widths (100%) for the table of report and its components. Exactly how is based on the report, the region and the page templates and theme used, information that was not provided.

  • Adjust the column widths in the pages by using the 3 column template

    In CS4, I load the value default 3-column HTML Template (3 liquid column, header and footer). I make a few changes to the size of the container, some background colors in the sidebars, each of the three columns make editable (I put in each column value, then use Insert, model of combo box object).  I have to save it as a TPL file.

    I then create a new HTML page using this template.

    I want three columns - but I want to vary the width of them.  I try to edit the css for .thrColLiqHdr #mainContent for example, but get the message "this change should change the code which is locked by a model or a translator. The changes will be rejected. "I have quite a few pages that need three variable columns.  How can I make this work?

    And a second question... when I open 3-column model mentioned above, the central section 'main content' starts lower down that two sidebars - how do I "pull" it upward with the other two and to avoid the two supervised a fall?

    Sample modified TPL file attached as a .txt file.  The system did not like downloading a TPL file, even if it is not listed as a banned file type.

    You want each individual page to have editable column widths?  You would have to do that in this way-

    1. move the editable region in the head of the template UNDER the embedded CSS

    2. record the model and this change to propagate to your pages

    3. on each page of each child, incorporate a new stylesheet in the editable area in the head to set the column to the desired width

    Simple as pie.

  • lock the column widths

    Greetings,

    I have implemented different templates in dreamweaver with editable regions and pages. However, when I add or remove content, my columns automatically adjust and shake my overall design. This also occurs when you change these elements contribute to distance in.

    is there a way to lock the column widths in dreamweaver so that they adjust automatically?

    Thanks in advance,

    Yes. Do not use tables. Or build tables that are destined to collapse
    all about their content, keeping their shape. What you have
    described, it is simply how behave in HTML tables.

    If you used a "Assistant" HTML (that is, the one written by ImageReady, or)
    Fireworks) in the process, then you probably have tables that are filled
    with HTML not only incorrect but also neck - and rowspans. The combination of
    the two will undoubtedly aggravate the problem - to see why I say that, read this
    page-

    http://apptools.com/rants/spans.php

    To get specific feedback on how to sort your tables (including jet
    take out them and start over to recommendations), please post a link to one of your
    pages.

    Click on organize upper-left.

    Click on the folder and search options,

    Go to the display section

    Go ahead and uncheck the box at the top of the page, always display icons and never thumbnails, (a common framework)

  • setting the default width or height of a ListView using css?

    Is it possible to set the default width and height of a node (ListView) using css?
    Just in case I tried with:

    . My-list {}
    -fx-pref-width: 130;
    -fx-pref-height: 100;
    }

    but it doesn't seem to work.

    Not that I know of. Search for "prefWidth" in the documentation for CSS does not work. Provision of JavaFX is generally not managed by CSS, but by FXML and/or Java. You can set the prefHeight and the prefWidth as attributes in the FXML file:

    or in Java:

    ListView listView = new ListView();
    listView.setPrefWidth(130);
    listView.setPrefHeight(100);

  • [ADF, JDev12.1.3] I would like to stress that af: table takes the entire width of page and column auto-augmenter/reduce their width in proportion to the amount of available space. How...?

    Hallo,

    I see that default ADF makes all the 100px wide columns and there is the possibility to stretch a column to take full available width.

    I would like to know if there is a function / approach in ADF which - occupies all the available space - auto-calcule the width of each column to 1) the width of DB fields and 2) space in the browser window.

    I could also set the with columns of table in columns (characters) or (better?) in pixels and the framework should only for reproportion widths according to the available width.

    Or track to follow is defining the width of the columns in the table (percentage) property?

    Thank you

    Federico

    There is the possibility to stretch a column to take full available width.

    AFAIK, you can stretch several columns (read the docs for this property)

    I would like to know if there is a function / approach in ADF which - occupies all the available space - auto-calcule the width of each column to 1) the width of DB fields and 2) space in the browser window.

    (1) as far as I know, no

    (2) you can add class AFStretchWidth to the styleClass property to af:table (or surround your table with af:panelCollection and add this style class here)

    Or track to follow is defining the width of the columns in the table (percentage) property?

    Is probably not.

    % has different interpretation in different browsers, so you should use the style class AFStretchWidth.

  • ALTER TABLE with the column NULL time consuming

    Hello

    I have a table with nearly 2 million documents (about 10 GB size table) when I perform the following change statement its run fast

    ALTER TABLE tbl_1 ADD (DEFAULT col_4 NUMBER 100 NOT NULL);

    but when I do not give the NOT NULL in the alter its taking a long time to complete this i.e tbl_1 of ALTER TABLE ADD (NUMBER col_4 by DEFAULT 100); once I do the column as NOT NULL.

    Can someone explain why is it happening like that regarding the execution point.

    Thanks in advance.

    I can reproduce the effect in 11.2.0.1 - but not in 12.1.0.1.

    drop table tbl_1;

    create table tbl_1

    as

    Select rownum id

    , lpad ('* ', 50,' *') padding

    of the double

    connect by level<=>

    ALTER TABLE tbl_1 ADD (NUMBER col_4 by DEFAULT 100);

    --> slow in 11.2.0.1; fast 12.1.0.1

    ALTER TABLE tbl_1 ADD (DEFAULT col_4 NUMBER 100 NOT NULL);

    --> Quick 11.2.0.1 and 12.1.0.1

    A SQL trace for two operations (11g) shows that the altar slow (without the constraint explicit non-null) made explicit (and tedious) update of any row in the table:

    Update 'TBL_1"set"COL_4"= 100

    call the query of disc elapsed to cpu count current lines

    ------- ------  -------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ----------  ----------

    Parse        1      0.00       0.02          0          1          0           0

    Run 1 11,63 33.56 8336 1016125 2053531 1000000

    Fetch        0      0.00       0.00          0          0          0           0

    ------- ------  -------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ----------  ----------

    Total 2 11,63 33,58 8336 1016126 2053531 1000000

    The other trace file does not contain the explicit Update. I guess in the optimized case that oracle stores somewhere that col_4 has the value 100 and updates only the line of the block after completing DML operations. But that's just a guess.

  • Mark from a table where the column value is a colon-delimited list

    Version: Oracle Database 11 g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.2.0 - 64 bit Production

    Hello

    This is a new query of a query Frank helped me with: https://community.oracle.com/message/12506306#12506306

    Demand is all users to restrict the report based on a multiple selection on the front-end server (application APEX) filter.

    The filter returns that a colon-delimited list and the data in the table can be saved in a delimited by a colon list too. There may be 1 to n values (up to 4000 characters).

    I need a WHERE clause that will allow a match, if it exists, between the data in the column of the Table and the Mult-selection list filter.

    The abbreviated for this post query would be something like:

    SELECT slt_id, slt_item, slt_owner

    OF slt_dashboard

    WHERE slt_owner IN (colon delimited page list);

    The Create Table and Insert statements:

    CREATE TABLE slt_dashboard
    (
      dashboard_id  NUMBER,
      slt_id        VARCHAR2(10),
      slt_item      VARCHAR2(2500),
      slt_owner     VARCHAR2(4000),
      slt_type      VARCHAR2(25),
      slt_year      NUMBER,
      parent_id     NUMBER
    );

    --Insert slt_dashboard
    INSERT INTO slt_dashboard(dashboard_id,slt_id,slt_item,slt_owner,slt_type,slt_year,parent_id)
    VALUES (12,'1.1','Implement revenue enhancement initiatives','E15889:JPARISI:BDUR63','Business Commitment',2014,6);

    INSERT INTO slt_dashboard(dashboard_id,slt_id,slt_item,slt_owner,slt_type,slt_year,parent_id)
    VALUES (13,'1.2','Strengthen our Energy position','KVROMAN','Business Commitment',2014,6);

    I have a function to separate the list delimited by two points in a table for the IN clause, but because these values can be saved in a delimited list of Colon in the column of the Table, I have a problem, being able to analyze the data in the column, AND the filter data.

    The function is:

    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION get_list( p_string IN VARCHAR2
                                        ,p_delimiter IN VARCHAR2 DEFAULT ':'
                                       )
        RETURN vc_array_1
        PIPELINED
    IS
        l_string VARCHAR2( 32000 );
        l_array wwv_flow_global.vc_arr2;
    BEGIN
        l_array     :=
            APEX_UTIL.string_to_table( p_string
                                      ,p_delimiter
                                     );

        FOR i IN l_array.FIRST .. l_array.LAST
        LOOP
            PIPE ROW ( TRIM( l_array( i ) ) );
        END LOOP;

        RETURN;
    END;

    The function called in the query in the form (it's just for reference in case someone wanted to know):

    SELECT ...
    FROM ...
    WHERE slt_owner IN (SELECT * FROM TABLE( get_list( :P115_SLT_OWNER ) ));

    But I can't use this approach because the data in the Table can be saved in a delimited list of Colon too.

    Desired output:

    If the Mult-Select list filter contains: E15889:JPARISI then

    1.1 implementation of the E15889 revenue improvement initiatives; JPARISI (it's a semicolon between the names)

    If the multiple-selection list filter contains: KVROMAN then

    1.2 strengthen our position of energy KVROMAN

    If the multiple-selection list filter contains: BDUR63:KVROMAN then

    1.1 implementation of the BDUR63 revenue improvement initiatives

    1.2 strengthen our position of energy KVROMAN

    Please let me know if something is not clear.

    Thank you

    Joe

    I went to approach the Table and the Page works perfectly.
