  • MacBook Pro lights at room temperature.

    Hello

I had this problem with my late 2008 unibody Macbook Pro since last year that he only turns on when I use a blow dryer and blow directly to the logic board to increase its temperature to above 70 ° c/160 degrees Fahrenheit.

I only found on this quick fix to turn it on a few days ago, before I had kept on for several months and as long as it's on it's a machine works well without any problems no matter what was the temperature of House of logic. I brought in a genius bar earlier for a verification of the material but they could not identify any problems.

Any idea of what this could be the cause?

    Thank you.

Just speculating, but maybe a cold or damaged joint to weld. When you heat, parts develop a connection. Cold, parts of contract, leaving a void in the weld joint.

  • Room temperature for SSD - iMac 2011

I had a company local 'geek' install a 1 TB Samsung EVO 850 SSD in my iMac 2011 after the factory 1 TB WD HDD went belly upwards. The iMac works fine after installation, but the fan runs continuously. I think (and check with technician) they have not connect the thermal sensor that I understand other forums, there is a spare cable. anyway. I installed Mac Fan Control, which was extremely easy and place the SSD fan to operate "sensor value based on '-'Ambient '. the default value for the SSD shows the temperature the fan will begin to increase is 75 degrees F, with a temperature Max to 95 degrees f. once set the fan has appeased and now always so gently purr, but I wonder if the settings are correct.

The Question: what would be the temperature for a SDS now in an iMac 2011? are the default settings listed above in the correct range? where can I find this info. I searched on the web...

    Thanks in advance.

The vendor who installed the SSD correct wiring, the fan control installation should work (although I don't recommend generally), but the seller must install things correctly. after 2009 iMacs had HD with temporary sensors integrated in the HD, your SSD does not only so you are correct in your statement that he needs the heat sensor wire. OWC provides one with their kits.

  • The fan speed does not match cpu temperature

    Hi all

following my last post, I have a new question. I have a 13 rMBP inches early 2015 2.7 ghz dual core i5.

by running ' Yes > / dev/null & Yes >/dev/null "(for about 4-5 minutes), I managed to get 100% load on both hearts, beginning of time editing.

at one point, fans of kick (they were before, 0 RPM, which is normal on the new mbp) and start climbing in RPM also.

then, cpu temp reached 97 - 98C and the speed of the fans stops about 3250 RPM rise. Temp remains steady at 97 - 98C as if 98C is ok and should not be cooled more far.

IMHO I'm not sure it's a hardware problem because obviously the temp reading is ok, fans begin to climb in rpm, the only issue is - why they stop at 3250 RPM when the CPU is 98C? (I know about fans of older models, kick to 100% after 90 c, but I wonder if this is the case in the new models or the fault is in my MBP)

also, it of not like the fans are completely disabled or works 100% all the time, looks like a problem of software for me.

If someone has the same model of rMBP I would appreciate running the ' Yes > / dev/null & Yes >/dev/null ' and sharing the results.

  • research to temperature sensor

    Hello

I can't use the Mac mini anymore because the fan is at full speed and kernel_task on > 300%.

I have already run a hardware test on my Mac Mini 2012 one it gave me error 4SNS/1/C0000008: TAOP - 124.

I already know that the error is the ambient temperature sensor, but I have not any suspicion where it is. Similar threads on the forums are always on MacBooks.

You know weather this sensor on the logic board or is it outside? What sensors does the Mac mini 2012 has, is there a list?

My Macbook Pro Late 2011 very hot especially on the left side. Temperature exceeds the 60 degrees celsius, with only the navigation. Is this a normal behavior? Fans operate at a SPEED of 2000 more or less. I would like the experts to guide...

From what you say, it seems that your MacBook fans work as usual (and unfortunately), and 60ºC is a good temperature for a MacBook Pro, so I don't think that there is nothing wrong with your Mac. Note that the temperature may also depend on what websites visit you and complete what they use. for example, Java and Flash Player increases CPU utilization and the battery, and this, temperature.

In addition, note that your MacBook Pro is made of aluminum, and it can quickly become hot even if you don't do any heavy task. This does not mean that there is nothing wrong with it

Is it possible to know if my Macbook Pro display colors to the correct color temperature?

When I got it, it seemed hot, so I adjusted... .but how do I know if it is now right?

    Hello there, Chris.

It seems you are trying to determine how much to calibrate the screen on your MacBook Pro. The following Knowledge Base article provides a few strides and the link to do this in the latest version of Mac OS x:

OS X El Capitan: calibrate your screen

The colors on your screen can be changed by many factors, such as ambient light, the position and the angle of the screen and the age of the screen. To take these changes into account, you can set your display to show accurate color using calibrator Assistant monitor.

Calibrate it regularly to ensure accurate color.

    1. Choose the Apple menu > System Preferences, click view, and then click color.
    2. Click calibrator Calibrate.Display wizard guide you through calibrating your monitor, then creates a calibrated color profile. When the display profile is ready, it is automatically assigned in the color profile of your screen.

Some screens have additional built-in color calibration and precision features. For more information, see the documentation that came with your monitor.

  • High temperature

Hello world! I have a problem with my Mac Book Pro 15 "mid 2014. Since yesterday, the temperature gets really high, even if I went on my Mac for the first time, and we're talking about 80 ° C to 85 ° C, I have updated to OS X El Capitan 10.11.4 but nothing has changed. Before this problem, the temperature was approximately 60 ° C to 65 ° C (max. 70 ° C) where I worked. Can you help me solve this problem? Thank you very much!

Even if it's a normal thing, is PS good for Mac?

Maybe the fan into the Macbook does not work correctly - either a fault or cooling a little needs.

Try the SMC fan control - cool the CPU.

  • Best practices: room temperature?

We are negotiating with our neighborhood on what is ideal and preferred room temperature for our mac Labs.  I found a thread on the hour but it is specific to the valleys and I was wondering what was the ideal room temperature for keeping our laboratories.  Is there an official Apple SOP on that?

    "temperature is between 20 ° C / 68 ° F and 26 ° C / 79 ° F, with an average at about 23 ° C / 73 ° F.". Whatever it is above 27 ° C/80 ° F is potentially harmful to your computer. »

  • High temperature CPU on Satellite M30

    Hello

I have a Satellite M30 852 with Pentium M 1.5 GHz processor. My problem is that the heater does not start until the CPU temperature reached 70 degrees, which I think is a bit high, no mention that when it has reached this temperature I can not keep the laptop on my legs because it burns... and also to kind of warm around the touchpad and left side of the keyboard.

My question is if there is any software I can use to take the cooler start at low temperatures, to keep, or if there is no setting I can adjust the laptop utilities to solve this problem (in addition to throttle CPU cooling where is defined in the performance).

    Thank you all in advance!

    Hello

The temperature of 70 ° C nothing unusual and in my opinion not too high.
Is that it s not recommended to use the laptop on your legs or in bet, etc.
You should always be sure that there is enough free space (left, right, bottom) around the laptop for the circulation of fresh air!

Usually, the Toshiba power saver controls the cooling method and the CPU processing speed. If you want to change some settings you should the fact in the basic power saver menu.

PS: on m30 the phoenix BIOS has been installed and therefore, you should use the F2 key.
