  Hi I created a form with drop down menus and multi line text boxes. I first created a text box and then copied and pasted to save time. The only problem I have now is when I type in the text box or select an option from a drop of water in the menu drop down, it changes all the text boxes and drop-down menus. See photo. I really want to create this form again. I realease if I rename each being sort however I would really like to have the same name. Please help if you can.

  Hi Praveen,

  You can add items to the list in a specific order, which would be to load the elements in an array, sorting and then load in the dropdown list drop-down list.  This would be in the click event of the button Add.

  Create a table to hold all the list items, table drop-down list contains objects with a property 'displayItem' and 'value '.

• Several problems with embedded DHTML menu text boxes, drop-down

  We have recently improved HR 10 HR 2015.  We know a menu dhtml drop-down text question existed prior to the upgrade and the upgrade did not fix it.  We now have a more serious problem.  We are not certain that all started with the upgrade, but we detected it after you convert our projects to HR 2015 and republish them.  I list both here in case they are connected.

  The problem known: styles of multilevel list to the level of the main topic and within the text box drop-down dhtml to first level.  However, if we add a drop-down list box text in a drop-down text box and apply a list style at several levels to the text in the drop-down text embedded dhtml, the topic seems in good shape on the Design tab, but loses the line numbers or bullets in the preview and in the published version.  No idea what would cause the list not to display properly or how to get the multilevel list styles to work in this situation?  (Yes, we know we can use styles list rather than multilevel list styles, but it is problematic, too)

  

  The novelty is that, when content is published and read in IE or Chrome (the two major browsers use customers), the drop-down text link embedded dhtml is always present, but the text in the drop-down list embedded dhtml has disappeared (for example, nothing happens when you click on the link to open the text box).  It works in preview, but not when accessed through a browser (or access to the content of webhelp after publication to a server directly from my local computer).  Any ideas on how to get it to display?  The net result for our users, is that a substantial PART of the content of the assistance amount is now more accessible.

  Here are a few things that I would consider trying.

  First, click on Tools > update DHTML and let it do its thing.

  

  A test to see if something has changed. If so, great!

  If the problem persists, open one of the samples project. Click here to see a video on how to do

  Then open Windows Explorer. Click here to see a video on how to do

  Find and copy a file called ehlpdhtm.js and return to your project and paste this file into so that it replaces the one that is there.

  Then see if things are better.

  I just installed a Belkin modem-router - which went well. Can I connect WiFi gadgets etc. I can also connect to the internet via a network cable to my pc. I also installed a belkin usb wireless adapter and in Device Manager, says it is enabled and works.

  My problem is, I have no way of choice get a WiFi PC to display in the list (from the notification area) and cannot get the pc to give me options to create a wi - fi connection. The more I get to try to do that is "unexpected error"!

  If someone could help on this - I would be very grateful

  Good news - update of my ongoing saga with this Belkin modem/router.

  Got the pc to see wi - fi now. It turned out to be the Zone Alarm! As the router has a firewall, I uninstalled Zone Alarm completely. Also, I went into the properties of belkin usb and checked it was the most recent drivers, it does not so I installed them.

• "Data dashboard" version 2.0 list drop-down list seen only "one, two, etc.» Instead of the text Enum

  I am currently using the new data on an iPad dashboard 1. I'm coding in suite developer Labview 2012. I found that switches work very well when it is associated with a shared variable. I finally managed to get the drop-down list to control a shared variable of data type typedef/enum. This control very well within the Labview program, but on the dashboard of data drop-down list shows only the "One" "two" etc... instead of the text 'This' Enum 'As' 'Other' I can write back to the dashboard with a text conversion of the enum to the dashboard and place it in a display of string over the fall down. While this gives the operator a display of the current Typedef/enum, it is not very intuitive. They must select 'One' to view 'This' "two to display 'Than' etc...

  How can I get the dashboard of data drop-down list control to display the text of the enum instead of "one" "two" etc?

  I think the point was that your question belongs to this other forum, not the forum of LabVIEW.

• List drop-down selection trigger change in the text field

  I'm hit a roadblock here. I'm on Adobe Acrobat XI and here's the scenario: I have a list box and a text box.

  Drop-down menu field has 3 caps (A, B, C).

  If A is selected, the text box = 15 default, but has the ability to change in the text box.

  If B or C is selected, the text box = 0 or "by default, but it has the ability to change in the text box.

  If I use an if/then with a .value, I'll be able to get the numbers to work, but do not have the ability to edit and keep them there. If I enter another number in another area, the JavaScript code will run and change the text box to 0 or 15.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Instead to use script logic for the text field, use the drop-down validation script. In this way, that it only will be triggered when you change the value in the drop-down list field, not when you change any field in the file (as the calculation script).

• How to enable/disable readonly in text fields, drop-down list field?

  For example, I have a dropdown field named "DropdownField" and a field of text called 'TextField '.

  Within 'DropdownField', I have four choices: Option 1, Option 2, another, combination. When the user first sees the "DropdownField", they see 'Select Option.' When the "DropdownField' select Option, Option 1 or Option 2 selected, I want to 'TextField' to be a read only field. However, what other or combination are selected, I want them to be able to grasp things in the 'TextField', which makes is not readonly. Also, tell someone selects 'Other', but realizes that they have made a mistake, I want them to be able to select Option 1, and have the return of 'TextField' read-only.

  Currently I have the JavaScript code as a MouseUp on "DropdownField: action

  You must use the event to validate drop-down list and use a script like:

  I am working on a form with a set of option buttons: individual or joint.

  A drop-down list will become visible if the user clicks on the joint. How can I set this drop-down list to be mandatory when the 'joint' is clicked?

  And also - what would be the script as if I want to put a text field to become mandatory according to radio button clicked?

  Hi all

  First time post here - wahoo!  :-)  Brand new user of LiveCycle, and so far I'm loving - very cool app!  I am a bit puzzled, however, and hoping someone can help...

  I am using LiveCycle version 8.05 and try to build a form that has a drop-down list with departments in our Organization.  If the user selects the elements 1-5 on my list, I want two other fields at autopopulated (one for the Admin Assistant) and one for Dept Head.  If however the user selects 'Other', I want a text box (it will be hidden the rest of the time) where the person will be able to type in the Department they work for.  For now, I'm only interested on getting the box 'Other' to appear; I'll worry about the other stuff later.

  Elsewhere in my form, I have a functioning drop-down list that displays a text based on the selection field; However, for some reason this logic does not work with the situation described above.

  My code for the working text field is (in JavaScript)

  After many fruitless hours yesterday, I got only to the extent where the code below; This was more or less copied right out of a post here.  When I click on the drop-down list, select 'Other', the text field is displayed.  I tried the definition of the text field to the times 'Hidden' and 'Visible' through properties of the object, but no luck.  I tried to use IF statements, subforms and anything else I could think of but am getting nowhere.

• Text of field force based on list drop-down choice

  I adapted this from an example provided by pguerett call 'health mental-check' (in another thread that I can't find right now) who performed a similar function based on a checkbox control.

  I have a dropdown list with a change event to set the menu text focus IF the drop-down list item is replaced by 'others '.

  In the text field, that I have an output event which 'should' give a popup message and then set the focus on the field from the drop-down list, IF the drop-down list item is "other", AND the field is null output.

  However, this does not go as planned.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Part of it is to get your '=' and '==' mixed up. A = to assign the value, two == to compare a value.

  I think the gasket you need.

  I changed your script:

  I think the way it works is that you'll need to capture specific value selected in the drop-down list, because it is has been selected the value does not exist in the field again... or something like that - someone else here can probably explain it properly!

  I have x 3 drop-down menus 'Day' "Month" "Year" and I want to send these parts to a single rating marked with the id 'date' to compensate for a syntax correct date without refreshing or send the form. I use getelementbyid to send the onchange = "getAmount (this.id) request for drop-down list", but it sends only an id and when the next drop-down list is selected it replaces the previous selection, rather than putting all of this together in correct date format. "

  You only need one identifying any...

  Change your Mysql in bulk or add check boxes used or unused:

  SELECT * FROM table WHERE IS NULL or IS NOT NULL column

  You can extend your

  SELECT * FROM table WHERE column1 = something AND column2 IS NOT NULL

  or

  you check every box before printing it, if (cb1! = "" or cb1 == "") {echo/print/do something ;}

• RH10 corrupts links bookmark text to drop down link menu

  I noticed that when upgrading from RH9 RH10 to projects, RH10 will corrupt (for example, 'Broken Link') all bookmarks on a drop-down text link. For example, I have a head to "Change the status in PowerFlow" which, when clicked, drops drop a piece of text. The head is also included as a bookmark, "Changing_the_Status_in_PowerFlow."

  It worked perfectly in RH9 and I tested the upgrade to RH10 several times with the exact same result. Bookmarks not associated with the drop-down list text are not affected. Note the three links broken MM-4000, with drop-down lists; There is a fourth bookmark, not associated with a link from the drop down menu, which is accessible:

  

  RH10 inserts a "#" in the bookmark link, producing a 'file name is invalid. Error cannot use the character ' # ' in a way. ». Bookmarks are no longer appear in the project files, but do not show on the page of the topic (with highlighting) and in the Bookmark dialog box, but the bookmark on the page does not get selected - as usual - in the Bookmark dialog box.

  When you compile a WebHelp project, bookmarks work as expected. I don't know what's the correct syntax for a legit bookmark and search for "#Changing"... "and by removing the" # "removes the selection from the list of broken links, but don't change any other behavior.

  If anyone has any other ideas to fixit, I would be grateful: I have hundreds of them throughout the multiple projects. Thank you...

  I downloaded the project file and considered the question. The question is very precise, just to make other people aware, the question, if you create a DHTML (drop-down list or expansion) text, and then on the DHTML text you apply the bookmark, and then upgrade the project to RH10, the bookmark does not appear.

  The same is the case, if you create a new project in RH10 and add bookmark to DHTML text, then bookmark does not appear in the pod project mgr.

  I have a fix for this problem, the solution is to run a script that belongs to @ https://acrobat.com/#d=iwwPZbRDHT-oJ1gSp6Kc6w

  You must follow these steps

  • Download the script file.
  • Open RoboHelp project, click View > pod > explore script
  • in the Script Explorer, right-click and select Import and select the downloaded script file.
  • Take backup of your project where is DHTML.
  • Open the project, open the pod of the script Explorer, right-click on the new script file and select run.
  • the script will fix the entire project and all bookmarks will begin to function properly.

  The script is just a workaround, until the time engineering team RoboHelp resolves this problem.

  It is a two part problem, linking data and access to data sources. The following addresses a problem, data binding. Build an XML instance to express the rate of sales tax in the State. I made a partial list of the States and added "TaxRates.xml" as the source of the preview data.

  Built a XML schema to describe the XML instance and add them as a data connection. My schema is embedded in the attached form. The "TaxRates.xsd" scheme is also attached.

  Use dynamic binding to bind the drop-down list the data connection state. In 'State' data binding to specify the text of the element as the 'id' attribute and the value of the element that the attribute "Salestax".

  

  In the case of the release of 'the State' add JavaScript to assign the gross value of the 'State' to the gross value of the "taxRate".
