  I noticed a problem (probably I'm not the first) with Illustrator where any attempt to distribute text boxes autour and object, or even vertical relative to the other alignment is not working everything simply because for one of the object bounding boxes two text will be much bigger and wider than the actual text.

  I'm looking at a vector image of a plane in the project I am working on and framework encompassing is at the same level on all sides of the object. But in trying to align a text box with an area of crops, it is quite clearly not align correctly due to the fact that the height of the bounding box is a good half an inch above the text.

  After recently entering in aid of Illustrator (I still have a long way to go...) I was stunned by the number of tools at your disposal, but as someone who is so particular to do alignments and correct measures in a design project (which is not), it drives me crazy. It even makes me not want to continue, because even if I get the alignment as close as I can (manually edit the x and are coordinated to match the object at which I am trying to align does not work because of the size of the bounding box), I still feel like it is not as accurate as it could / should be.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  A function like this return error text should work:

  I was wondering how to do this also. There is a global function called asfunction, described in language AS as Reference: a special protocol for URLS in HTML text fields that allows an HREF link call an ActionScript function.

  I asked about this problem for a while - it still exists under Windows 7 Microsoft apparent feels that it is the correct behavior. In an application using a dialog open, where multiple files can be selected by clicking on them, while the CTRL key is held down, the resulting list of file names appears in the file text box. However, the first clicked file name remains last in the list while others remain in the proper order. Why is this? When this "feature" has been more boring, it's when I try to create a CD or DVD and I want to control the order of the files.

• Text that develop with the expandable text field

  I created a form using Livecycle Designer. I have 2 questions;

  1. how to create repeating fields.

  2 it is the text before and after the extensible text field, how the texts after the text growable field 'navigate' the text growable field. (when the user starts to fill the field expand the text after the demon of the text is expected to grow to the right as the text field.)

  3. how to create the text field in double capture / will reflect whatever the user type in a field in another text field without filling actually twice.

  For Q1 and 2 there is something called a field floating allow you to merge the data in a text block and reflow to remove all spaces in the block. This is available only when the data are merged on the form. This isn't an interactive field. Once the data are merged, it is transformed into a block of static text.

  For Q3, this is a case to assign a value to another.

  FieldNameofTargetField.rawValue = OriginalFieldName.rawValue;

  This code must be run on an event related to the original material. In general the exit event is used for this purpose. So when the user leaves the field, the target field will be updated with what was typed in the original field.

  I have a text that contains the names of user ("@username") and hastags ("#hashtag") and I want to run a function when one is clicked, like Twitter when you click on a username, it opens the profile page.

  I'm currently divide the text to another label every time that a user name or the hastag is found and adding a handler to tap.

  Are you trying to let the user invoke Twitter itself, or have your own custom behavior?

  I'm trying to understand a script that would affect the current text field, I am without knowing the name of the field (this.getField) I want to change the properties of any text field, I'm currently typing in (color of text, etc.), this script is placed to a button on the document and when you press on would only affect that I am currently in the text field.

  This is probably a "duh" question, but I can't remember how to change the title text in the header of a sensitive layout. In the layout editor, I see that I can change the title, color and color of hover font, but where you change the actual text?

• Change the source file of the insert text with a script

  I'm looking for a way to replace existing-insert text in a document with the contents of another file (by reference), using scripts. I have a document c:\referer.fm, in which there is an insert text which the source file is: c:\A.fm

  I also have c:\B.fm, and now I want to change referer.fm so that is no longer the overlay of text contains the text of A.fm, but the B.fm.

  I tried this:

  var doc is app. ActiveDoc;

  var textinset is doc. FirstTiInDoc;

  var pathtosource is textinset. TiFile;

  pathtosource = "c:\B.fm";

  textinset. UpdateTextInset();

  But it does not work. I guess that the "pathtosource" parameter can be done this way. If someone knows a way to do it, I would greatly appreciate your help!

  Hello David,.

  You do not manipulate the text overlay, but a copy of the file in the text box. Your "pathtosource" parameter is a local copy of the property that you read from the actual text insert.

  Try this code instead:

  var doc is app. ActiveDoc;

  var textinset is doc. FirstTiInDoc;

  textinset. TiFile "c:\\B.fm".

  Note that the backslash must be escaped with the backslash to make it work in a JavaScript string. To make your script Fail-Safe, test the name of file textinset before changing. You do not have the textinset that you expect to have, as might also be INSET text on master pages and reference. All inserts text are in a single linked list.

  Also, update the text tagging along after that changing the path may not always work, as compared to FM, last changed the file date text inset with the last time that the textinset has been updated. To force the FM to update the textinset, you must include the following line of code after changing the filename text inset:

  textinset. LastUpdate = 0;

  Then, you can call the UpdateTextInset() method and it will work.
