Where is the "Settings" folder on my computer.

Original title: setting tab is gone

I'm unable to locate the "Settings" folder on my computer.  I tried to use the Microsoft help site and have not been able to access many of the records, files or programs that help asked me to try.  all the avenues I try results in a "Control Panel: c: Windows / System 32/rundll32.exe - application not found" error message.  I had a phone support from Microsoft and we tried "System Restore" but we have been cut off.  The apparent virus that I had seemed to disappear, but we recently noticed that another issue that may have been active for some time.  Help is very appreciated.

I downloaded a copy of the file on my SkyDrive (everyone has a SkyDrive for file sharing).

You can download it and when you do, place a copy of the file in these two folders (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive):

c:\Windows\System32
c:\Windows\System32\dllcache (this is where XP keeps backups of important files).

Here is the link to the file:

http://CID-6a7e789cab1d6f39.SkyDrive.live.com/redir.aspx?RESID=6A7E789CAB1D6F39! 311

When you see the files available for download, you will not see the file extension (.exe, .dll, etc.), but when download you them they will have the right extension.

You have to put the downloaded files in the correct folders on your system.

That may not solve all your problems, but at least you will be spending this part and we can then fix the rest.

Given that you had or have an infection, followed with this:
Perform scans for malware, and then fix any problems:
Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:
Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/
They can be uninstalled later if you wish.

  • I can't find the "Settings" folder to install the ACR presets

I have studied this many. Here are the following steps that I took:

On my hard drive > library > Application Support > Adobe > CameraRaw. So I know I'm supposed to go in the settings folder. But it is not a record of settings. «Just 'Adobe' 'camera' lens profiles "and an inaccessible".» DS_Store '.

Then I tried to 'save settings' on an image in Camera Raw and search on the file name, but I can't. BUT even if I'm in Camera Raw, 'Save settings', I see a Settings folder in CameraRaw > Adobe > Application Support > library. So I know that it is there. Can't seem to locate it in the finder or anything like that. Help, please.

I also did research that there may be some 'Hidden' on Mac files. SO I tried to follow the following instructions to view all folders:ter-3520878 http://www.macworld.co.uk/how-to/mac-software/how-show-hidden-files-in-mac-os-x-finder-fun /

And always without success. FROWNY FACE! Thank you in advance if you can save Me!

    Hello

The folder of your choice: Camera Raw is in your library user, not the system.

An easy way to get to your user library is to click on your desktop, then in the menu go to press the option and you should see the words of library. It's your user library where you want to search ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw

  • How to change the destination folder on a computer for an Officejet Pro 8500 network scans.

The manual says to launch the HP Device Manager. There is no such program in the Application directory.  The closest thing is a utility that is more easily accessible through system preferences.  But there is nothing in the utility for adjusting the settings of the scanner!  I even restarted the installer where I put the destination initially, but it never shows the screens for this now?  Is there something other in fact named device manager HP OSX that will override the setting of the destination folder for the scans initiated from the printer?

    Hi DMaclay,

you use the digital archiving functionality to scan directly into a folder? You can in this case, just open the built-in webserver (EWS) for your device and set the Profiler where create a new one with another folder.

The integrated Web server, you can easily access by entering the IP address of the Officejet in your browser (e.g. Safari). Then go to digital archiving and choose Scan to network folder. Here, you can modify existing profiles or add a new one.

If it is not the function you use, please provide the number of the exact product for your device and that Mac OS version you are using.

  • Where are the settings stored?

The files contain a user of custom settings? I am particularly concerned by your selections for random background choices of screen and other display settings. I want to save these choices.

Not exactly a file, but the settings stored in the Windows registry, where users are generally notified of only not to venture in and said to support first before you do anything, if they do.  Anyway, if you are already familiar with it, you can see many parameters in [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop] and also in the colours of the said subdirectory.  You can save the settings of law on a directory folder icon in the registry and click Export to create a reg file.

  • Where is the settings screen?

I downloaded Flash 11.1.102.55 and installed (as the install checker is OK), but I lost the settings screen.

This happens as IEcannot open internet site:

    http://www.Macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager02.htm l

but it will display the settings screen. Everything is there, the settings manager and Table of contents, but not screen to set the parameters on. Have you changed something in version 11?

    I use IE8, Windows XP, 32 bit.

I've used Flash to access and record newspaper on info for secure sites, but do no more, seem to need that I'm connected me without it!

You can now find it in Windows Control Panel. Search for "Flash".

You must leave a copy of messages on the server checked on one or two machines.

Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Advanced - uncheck: leave a copy of messages on the server.

If you want to ride a few days, but not always, leave the option checked on both machines, but on a single computer only, check for delete after X days.

  • Need to know where in the system folder of Windows Vista, I can access the printer for a shared printer drivers .inf files

I have a printer that is attached to my system down Dell Windows XP, I want to access the floor running Windows Vista from my Sony system.  I managed networked the printer so I can see it in my Sony Windows Vista network folder.  However, when I try to access it, it gives me the following error msg:

The server to the printer 'HP Photosmart 1215 series' doesn't have the installed printer driver.  If you want to find the right driver, click OK

Otherwise, click Cancel and contact your network administrator or the original equipment for the printer driver manuafacturer.

I advanced and clicked on "OK". and the system brings up a box for me to find the correct INF file to load.  I went ahead and tried the DRIVERS/WINDOWS/INF and a few other places, but has failed to find (any) of printer drivers

Can someone tell me where I can get these?

Download the appropriate driver from the printer manufacturer's web site.  If it contains a Setup program, run the program and when it asks you to specify the printer installation, create a local printer whose name is \\xpsystem\printer where 'xpsystem' is the charing system printer and "printer" is the name of the share.  This should create the printer.

You can also expand the downloaded driver and try to add the printer as you did before, direct the installation to the folder containing the driver that you downloaded.
