The audio of my mixer in hearing is MUCH too low. Help please

Hi all

I started my trip in the recording of podcasts and hearing, that's what I always use to work with the audio, and I intend to continue my adventure of podcasting. However, when you make records, I've known some frustration with the low entry levels I have seem to be and I am not competent enough to correct the problem. I'm sure it's something simple. Here is my configuration:

-First of all, I run mixer Mackie FX8 Pro. When I use a microphone, it's a Heil PR40 (just acquired, I'm rather happy haha). I throw this flexibility, the ease of doing the Mix Minus audio configurations of type, etc.

-The card is connected to my macbook pro via a 1/4 "adapter USB

-Hearing recognized then as standard USB audio interface, and all my other controls are made by the Board of Directors, as it should

Now my problem is that the sound is in hearing is SO low. Of course, I'm not SUPER familiar with the use of mixing tips, but I know you're not supposed to just all get like that also pick up too much noise etc. and distort things. But I mean, the waveform bars barely move. They are tiny. And when I amplify the volume, the noise becomes too loud too properly deleted in post.

Can someone give me clues as to what I can hurt? Do I need mic inline amplifiers? Should I check the map, what should I check on the Macbook? I'm quite frustrated and you want to go about it, and I got a lot of amazing assistance from these forums, I wanted to check with you the people first.

I thank you very much in advance for your suggestions, you can provide.

Kyle

Hey I just wanted to give everyone an update I solved the problem, or rather, to understand the question.

It turns out that the Council that I use is a little power for a microphone as the Heil, so I actually get a Mic Preamp processor for my setup. When I use a different microphone like a Shure SM58, everything was fine. If this issue is resolved (after talking with support Mackie).

Thanks for all your help.
