The copy of Windows on an old PC

If I have an old Windows PC, I'm about to get rid of. Is there a way I could get the copy of Windows on the PC before you throw it out and use it on another PC? I bought the old PC with this OS and have not upgraded.

No, if it is preinstalled on the PC.  It is the OEM factory which cannot move.

  • Windows 7 Build 7601, the copy of windows is not genuine. It has been true for about 3 years already.

Hello. A week ago, my phone displays a message saying that my Windows is not genuine. I bought the brand new laptop and I installed win7, it was all working fine so far. At first, I thought it was just a bug, so I tried to update, but the updates do not install. I saw in some discussion above to check under my laptop for a joint, but it disappeared and I can't read the number to legitimize my copy of Windows. It also displays a message in the lower right corner indicating "Windows 7 Build 7601, the copy of Windows is not genuine." This question annoys me because it slows down my laptop already slow, and I can't work normally like this. Help, please.

EDIT: I'm not sure how to find the Diagnostic report that is often required to determine the problem, so no instructions would be useful.
EDIT 2: I forgot to mention that I've scanned with 3 different anti-virus, I think they have removed all the malicious files, I had, which was maybe 2 files of average risk. Scanned with Norton, ESET and Kaspersky.

  • What to do if the copy of Windows is genuine when MS wrote that is not

I received the message "this copy of Windows is not genuine".  Windows 64 bit Vista came installed on my laptop when I bought it almost 2 years ago.  Why I get this message now?  MY COPY IS AUTHENTIC.  What am I supposed to do?  I'm not a geek & dirty with records or something like that.  I find it very upsetting that MS did something like this & there is no where & no, you can call to get them to do it right.  I don't have to understand something like that by myself.  If Microsoft will do checks like that, they should do things or provide a toll-free number for when they go wrong.

don't you think that I didn't try to go to this page and do what they say? Please read the comments above...

You obviously did not read far enough.
Your Windows has a MSDN license - you subscribe MSDN? -If so, phone Concierge and ask what the problem is with your account. If you have NOT subscribed to MSDN, then the person who sold you the Windows key has done illegally.
Therefore, you will need to get legal by buying a legal copy of Windows 7.

  • I forgot the password of windows on my old laptop, how I overcame this problem

I have an older laptop Acer with windows Vista, which went under XP. The PC has not been used for awhile and I'm giving away there but must take all the info from him.
Unfortunately I forgot the password of windows and can not enter, how to fix this problem. Thanks in advance

    Hello.

Sorry, but Microsoft prohibited information provided in these Forums for anyone who has problems with a lost or forgotten password.

I suggest that you reinstall the operating system.

If you don't have a recovery disk, contact Acer support and they may be able to provide a disk.

Also check to see if when you upgraded from XP to vista, if you wiped the 'hidden' Acer recovery Partition to back to how it was when new.

Do you it by pressing Alt + F10 at startup and follow the instructions to reinstall XP

    See you soon.

  • transfer the copy of windows xp on a new hard drive

My 6th sense tells me that my hard drive is about to fail.  I want to clone this HARD and then replace it with the new clone HARD drive.  Copying valid OEM xp (xp Home Edition, SP3) on my current HARD drive, failing will transfer without problems for the new HARD drive so that when I replaced the current HARD drive with the new and turn on the computer, it starts straight upward as usual?  Thank you.

I used the switch of ib (boot image) when I did and when I started the cloned disk was not disabled. Windows found new hardware (the player) and after a little while that I should restart. • Are there problems with the copy a backup of one old drive to another?

After buying a hard drive TB Seagate external 3 to make backups, I conclude that, because of differences in sector I can not create a backup image to the new drive.  I did an image backup on my Toshiba 1.5 TB and then copied the file to the new 3 TB drive.  While it is a pain, for the moment, I don't see anything around him.  Are there problems with it?

Another question: If there is a question, is there a way to write the image of the file on the drive that works and then all backups incremental file at CT 3?

    Hello

Because you can't save the picture of the system directly on your 3 TB hard drive, you can save on your 1.5 TB hard drive, and then copy it to 3 TB external hard drive.

If you want to restore, you can restore directly from your hard drive 3 TB.
