• How to change the owner of a custom resource

  We create vCAC business groups as a resource that is centralized in our business accommodation for visitors office. Part of the procurement process is to create a custom resource vCAC for the vCACCAFE:BusinessGroup. Once the Group of companies has been implemented we would like to restore this object off customer accommodation property to allow them to update the group membership. How can I change the owner of the resource custom so that the client business group owns instead COMPUTER group central, or more precisely, I just feel like the Group of corporate clients to be able to perform actions of resources against the object group of business.

  My tests have shown that you can simply re-run the provision as another user and the EXISTING inventory item is replaced by the owner who ran.

  So you can have a market with a resource that says 'Take ownership' and for that Action, a provision by using the existing business group.  Changes in ownership. I tested that.

This would allow you to SET the owner based on a new provision in the market.

  1. I have create group of companies using advanced Service plan, which ALSO runs a provision of the custom resource.

  2. I add you to the Group of the company.

  3. I ran the action of change owner resource and type in your name.

  4. He performs a reconfiguration on your behalf... make you the owner.

  If this makes sense and could help you, I can set up a complete example in my lab tomorrow that shows this feature.  I know I can do.  But I also want to change the owner of a Machine element, and who died for us because he's not in the API.  I want to continue to push for an API method to change the owner as well.  As I said in my support ticket... If you own something, you should be able to change owner.

• The cost Allocation API

  I created and run PAY_COST_ALLOCATION_API. CREATE_COST_ALLOCATION in a test environment. The only issue I'm having is that instead of end from the distribution of costs on a particular assignment, and the creation of a new Division on the same assignment, it creates a new assignment for the employee including the new data on costs.
  
  

  Y at - it a way of simply end date the award of costs to an assignment and insert a redistribution of the costs for the same assignment? It seems too simple that the update of the effective_end_date for this assignment in Pay_Cost_allocations_f and then insert a new record in the same table with an appropriate effective_start_date, and although I see not the update hit all the other tables, I am reluctant to change the table directly in this way in case I'm missing something (always possible).

  I thought that this could be done with the Pay_Cost_allocation_api, but I can't see how.

  Have you tried using PAY_COST_ALLOCATION_API. UPDATE_COST_ALLOCATION API for updating the allocation of costs.

  As in most of the HR public APIs, you can use both modes: p_datetrack_update_mode = 'FIXED' or 'UPDATE' depending on your mode of update (if you want to correct/override a seizure or an update and maintain the history of the folders).

  When you write a script, you would have 2 main scenarios (as I can guess your obligation): you call PAY_COST_ALLOCATION_API. CREATE_COST_ALLOCATION or UPDATE_COST_ALLOCATION procedure depending on whether information costs are or or for the given assignment. You can write a simple procedure that will do this check (based on the "pay_cost_allocations_f" for an assignment_id given table) and according to what are returned, you can call the procedure PAY_COST_ALLOCATION_API (CREATE or UPDATE).

  Env: VCAC 6.2

  VCO: 5.5.2

  A custom resource is created based on the dynamic type in VCO. While some changes were made to DyanmicType - added a few attributes. When this custom resource is changed it shows no new attributes in the fields section. I have tried to remove/add endpoint external VCO, delete/recreate the resource custom, rebooted vcac device.

  Any help appreciated.

  * Define a new data type by calling 'Define the Type' in the folder DynamicTypes in vco.  The data type is < namespace >. < Objetpersonnalise >

  * Create new resource custom in the DSA based out of DynamicTypes:namespace:Objetpersonnalise

  To create a workflow VCO that returns an object of type Objetpersonnalise.  The workflow returns an object by calling DynamicTypesManager.makeObject

  Delete is performed via a resource of available Action you create.  A simple workflow that takes your resource type as input would.  (if your Item workflow is simple, you can actually use the same workflow to throw... really just an entrance and an exit of the type to get in and out of inventory in the items tab)

  This removes the element Custom inventory of resources (items tab)... If you really want to destroy the resource itself (from source), you might as the workflow to have also a task of the script to actually remove/destroy article in stock dynamic types.  (for example deleting a row in a database table)

• VCAC Advanced Service Designer doesnto fill all users of AD - creating a custom catalog article.

  I am unable to find all users created in the ad in the advanced Service VCAC6.0.1 Designer. I checked the endpoint settings and changed the Grp and the DN of the user to the root search. It's kind of stop my work for a while now. Your help would help to clear the obstacle.

• VM will use only 50% of the resources allocated vCPU

  I have a windows 2008 64 bit VM with 4 vCPU who seems to never use up to 50% of the handsets of CPU resources. Each CPU seems to be well balanced, but will never go beyond 50%. I do not see and as for example allocation of resources, limiting the amount of CPU that is given. I use this virtual machine on a dedicated v4.1 ESXi host.  Doesn't seem to be any challenge. Any ideas why it seems to be limited to only 50% of the available CPU? There is no other virtual computer running on this host at this point...

  Now, you see one of the MANY reasons for which multi CPU VM are a WASTE!  This is what we are trying to illustrate them, thanks to prove our point!

  It is applications that drive CPU, if the applications are not multi threaded or SMP, you cannot take advantage of the CPU unless APPS are SPECIFICALLY written for her.

• vCAC 6.0.1 - Advanced Service request form

  I want to create an advanced service call to a workflow of vCO. Quite simple, it works fine.

  However, I now want to add validation for forms of master plan before you press 'submit '. This falls into two areas...

  1. There are a number of Boolean form fields, I need to make sure that they are 'checked' before that form can be sent (the user agrees to certain conditions, etc.)

  Now, the constraints of form field only seem to be able to do the mandatory (and fields that apply to Boolean values in any case), not to be able to search a required value ('yes' in this case).

  I can obviously check as a part of the workflow, but it must then be failed and the user reintroduce again demand.

  2. I have another field I want to do research in a SQL database, I think I want to use a powershell script to achieve this goal, but if I do the entity search field type Powershell:xx there is no obvious way to specify what you want to call? The help files are not much help either. Or can I create a custom resource, a link to the comic with a query custom? Pointers please?

  Does anyone know of a way that you can set up a custom resource (created in the advanced service designer vCAC) in a vCO workflow? If not, is there anyway you can run the Service Blueprints of vCO - I noticed that these only show the Blues in the vCAC plugin.

  The vCAC you use plug-in only covers the IaaS API (the part based on Windows). A plug-in for the API of COFFEE vCAC6 vCO will be released in a future release.
