The full disc scratches

I am trying to crop a photo, only 700 KB.  I have 33 GB of available defraged on my: C drive which is also my drive to work.  The only thing I've done since the scratch disk error changes on a network/internet Cisco router.  This certainly isn't the problem.  Is it?  Any ideas.  I use PhotoShop CS.  THX.

Look for the crop tool options bar.  Notice the resolution setting you accidentally left there in it?  You try to re - sample the image of something huge that you would fill "scratch disks".

  • Scratch the full disc: where temporary files are stored?

    Hello

I just tried to open some files very large image (9 GB total) and when I did I got the message "zero a full disc. Now I understand why, that's happened, but it seems to have eaten a bunch of disk space that's not coming back. I closed since photoshop, rebooted my Mac, etc., but about 10 GB is still used where it wasn't before. I can't locate all temporary files anywhere (prefs only tells me that the scratch disk is my Mac HD, not the files, it's in). Can someone help me with this? Where are the temporary files Ps usually located on a Mac? I need these 10 Go back!

Mac OS x running Photoshop CS3

    Thank you!

Photoshop removes all scratch files remains when it launches and disassociates them when they are created so that they will automatically get deleted if the application crashes.  You should not be able to see them at all.

You have something else to fill your disk.

If your scratch disk is set to the OS boot volume, do not forget that the BONE will fill up space for virtual memory, and more exchanges of scratch your Photoshop files.

  • Project PR 2014 retains the settings: disc Scratch, open sequences

After you save and reopen, Pr keep failed disk scratching at that assigned different readers.

    Installation program...

    C: OS & program

    F: Media & project

E: scratch (even if the Pr keeps re-assignment to F on this project)

    D: exit

Also, no matter what sequences are open/closed to save, some random sequence is still open after reopening the project.

There are several other occasional problems with this project, and hope that these two symptoms that may indicate a common problem.  A variable would be that there are many versions it was converted in the pre-2014 2014 current CC cc.  However, new and old projects open the drive appropriate scratch disk assignment, then perhaps there is an error specific to the project that I can fix?

CC for 2014, Win 7, update drivers video & first Version, etc.

    Thank you!

Create a new project in 2014 CC and import items of the already created project.  "Scratch disks" appear by default in the location of the project files when opening projects created in earlier versions.

  • Scratch the full disc - need advice on disks

    Hello

I have a brand new installation of i5 Intel Core with 8 GB of RAM and a 300 GB HARD drive. Full specifications below:

    • ASUS P7P55D-E Pro
    • Intel Core i5 750
    • 8 GB Corsair Dominator PC12800 1600 MHz DDR3 (more fan)
    • NVIDIA Quadro FX1800 768 MB
    • Corsair TX650 PSU
    • Antec 300 case
    • WD Velociraptor 300 GB
    • Samsung F2380 23 "monitor
    • Wacom Intuos4 graphics tablet

I use the WD Velociraptor 300 GB, 10 000 RPM drive as a single drive on this computer. There are currently 150 GB free. The reason why I had such fast propulsion was to deal with large files and boost, loading time.

I get the error "scratch disk is full" when you try to open a .psd file - 4.3 m x 2.4 m, 150 dpi CMYK and is about 173 MB. Also, I noticed that the 150 GB remaining fills.

    So, my questions:

    1. Should I think about getting an extra drive?
    2. If so, a reader scratch must be fast or if the disk with the operating system should be faster?
    3. I have WD 2 x 500 GB disks that I can transfer to this computer - it would be good in a RAID0 array?
    4. How much space work disk would I need to deal with the bigger files? I have some that are several GB in size, but never had this problem of scratch disk before, even on the previous system, which had only 2 GB of RAM.

Well, you will need more free space on your hard drive.

  • Problem with the preferences of disc scratching?

    Hi all

I have a problem. Recently I had to reinstall my Windows and also all programs - including my Photoshop 7.0.

Everything went well with the installation but when I start Photoshop pops up message "could not initialize Photoshop because the"scratch disks"is full"

I have search the Internet for the solution and found a very easy answer ""press and hold CTRL + ALT + SHIFT as soon as Photoshop starts to make this menu: " "

When I try this there appears another dialogue box "Delete the Adobe Photoshop settings file?" Yes/No

Regardless of whether I choose Yes the 'no disc' preferences appear and bring me the message "could not initialize Photoshop because the"scratch disks"is full."

    What should I do?

Is your hard drive 1 TB or more?

Photoshop 7 is old and does not understand that the great readers and think that they are full.

You can make a partition smaller than 1 TB and use it for a scratch disk or use an external drive.

Then launch Photoshop, immediately hold down Ctrl + Alt keys until a dialog box appears that allows you to assign a drive work.

  • I have Windows Vista - I'm a msge saying that the recovery disc (D) is almost full. How can I transer to OS (C) Disk that has plenty of room to the left?

I have Windows Vista.  I'm a msge saying that the recovery disc (D) is almost full.

How can I transfer to OS (C) Disk that has plenty of room?    Thank you.

    Hello

I'm sorry, but you cannot move the D: Partition recovery or its contents; It will not work if you do.

Your recovery Partition was photographed on your hard drive during the production of your computer by the manufacturer for all of these reasons.

    1. If you want to reinstall Windows from in the case of a failure of the system, based on individuals or the keys at startup.

F10 or Alt + F10 or F11 are a couple of different manufacturers use sequences.

You will need to ask your manufacturer for proper sequence.

    2. to make the recovery disks on if your drive hard breaks down, so that you can then reinstall the operating system on a new hard drive.

Also ask them how to make records.

Your D: Recovery Drive is should not be used for backups, defragmented, etc..

There are backups on an external hard drive.

To resolve the problems that have arisen with the recovery D: Partition, you will need to contact the manufacturer of your computer to remove all that has been added to it.

    See you soon.

  • where the disc scratch on a Mac?

    Hello photoshop experts.

I recently made a move to switch from Windows to Mac, and man, I realized just how different some of the concepts were. My questions key here is "scratch disks". When I bought my windows PC 4 years so he came already with drive C and drive D, with of course the drive C is mainly for systems, past by conventional wisdom, I did D drive my main working drive.

How would this work for a Mac well (just think of me as a total Mac noob). I only learned that there is no real drive C or D for Macs. Could I just put the main drive to be the disc of scratch for photoshop?

I work on Photoshop CC, I think that all what I install on the Mac would be the latest version of creative cloud. Treat the files I have are layer of multi-remplissage 300 DPI of 700 MB, at the end of the measure. Just in case additional information is needed, here are the specs for my new Mac (didn't actually arrived yet so I can't generate adequate system for photoshop information).

    • 4.0 GHz QC mode 4.4 GHz i7
    • 16GB 1600 MHz DDR3 SDRAM-2x8GB
    • Dr. merger of 3 TB (3 TB + 128GBFlash)
    • AMD Radeon R9 M290X 2GB GDDR5

    Hi Shih,

The drive from Scratch for MAC is set to Macintosh HD by default. Using Photoshop | Memory and performance

If you want to assign more "scratch disks"

    > You can set your scratch disk preferences by pressing and holding the control and Alt keys (or Mac equivalent) from his Photoshop.A start this prompt will appear.

  • I installed the full version LavVIEW 8.6. I tried to upgrade to the professional version 8.6 by simply installing the new discs, and it has not upgraded. What do I need to uninstall, or is there a trick?

I installed the full version LavVIEW 8.6.  I tried to upgrade to the professional version 8.6 by simply installing the new disks, and it didn't perform the upgrade.  First, I have to uninstall and reinstall, or is there a trick?

Look in the License Manager in the National Instruments of your Start menu folder.  This is probably just a matter of activating LabVIEW 8.6 and maybe some other features with your new code license rather than your previous full version license code.

  • SSD full file scratches Invisible - PS CS5 Win10 32 GB RAM 500 GB SSD

I use PS CS5 very strongly over the last two weeks. My config is Win10 1 - high range yo Intel i7 32 GB RAM 500 GB 3 GB mirrored RAID HD SSD.

My 500 GB C: drive had been my scratch disk. PS crashed after starting every time. Error "full disc".

By clicking on 'My computer' in the file Explorer shows 465 GB 465 GB are used on my drive C: of SSD, that is to say 100%, is used. After the removal of everything THAT I have, I now 15 GB free.

After the opening drive C: and you add up all the files and folders (including the hidden) in root C: drive, I get about 150 GB of used space.

Search told me that the PS CS5 scratch your files must be the culprit. In addition, despite the advice to use SSD zero drive even if it is also my boot drive, I just changed today on a hard drive 3 TB mirrored RAID because the SSD has filled with invisible files, likely CS5 scratch files. I searched files ~ PST # .tmp. None found.

Re-optimized SSD and everything I could think of and everything I can find recommended.

Please help me! I need space on my SSD back!

Scratch files are normally deleted at the exit, but if the application does not close correctly they can be orphaned. An advantage of having separate zero PS, is that you can just delete everything in there if necessary.

Aside from that, I suggest you watch in your user account. This is normally hidden to 'show hidden files' in your operating system. A lot of software (Photoshop, not only) dumping of massive amounts of data-hiding and extracts for most.

You'll get a clue if folders as "Application Data" seems much more inflated than they should. Work systematically to limit.

Most of these caches can be redirected in the application preferences (or just be deleted if you prefer).
