The list of units in the Add Hardware Wizard is blank

I'm trying to install Microsoft Loopback, but I'm having problems. When I use the Wizard add-on (inheritance) and choose 'Add hardware manually', then the NIC, I'm supposed to get a list of all available maps. But this list is just empty. Why?

Hello

You may be able to download the drivers from the web site of the manufacturer of the computer.

  • No printer in the print, only icon in the "Add printer" Wizard dialog box

Windows XP Professional - Version 2002 - Service Pack 3

What would cause the print dialog box does not show printer, only the icon of the Add Printer Wizard?

This occurs in only one (Eclipse) application on the PC.

There are 20 printers in printers and faxes.

I can not completely through the Add Printer Wizard and it will be case add a printer and/or set as default, if specified printer.

However, the print dialog box displays always no printer.

7 developers here, 2 have Windows XP, with the rest on Windows 7.

Only two XP machines have this problem with this particular application.

Windows 7 machines have the same version of the same application, but the print dialog box normally works for them.

If I understand you correctly, everything works fine except the print in a particular application dialog box.  If this is the case, then maybe you should ask the promoters of this request for help/comment.

Otherwise, given that the problem seems to be in the interaction between a particular application and a few Windows print API (probably the Print spooler API), you will be much more likely to find competent people to MSDN or TechNet.  Unfortunately, given that XP is on its way, it has only a single forum TechNet for XP but there is a Vista printing forum who may be of assistance.

The Windows printing team blog seems to have been inactive for a while.

  • During the installation of a wireless mouse, the 'New Hardware Wizard' appears unnecessarily!

During the installation of a wireless mouse, the "New Hardware Wizard" pops up, and more than a half a dozen times looking for the pilot.  I installed the driver from the disk provided by the manufacturer.  Actually, the mouse works correctly and doesn't have another driver not found.  Someone has suggestions for the "new hardware found" stop?

  • Problem with the new hardware wizard and PCI bridge PCI to PCI standard

I have problems with VMware Fusion 2.0.2 on my MacBook Pro (Mac OS X 10.5.6).) The guest from Windows XP Pro (SP2) Found New Hardware Wizard keeps wanting to install a software for "PCI standard PCI to PCI bridge". I tried to do 'automatically' and "install from a specific location" using the Windows disk, the MacBook Pro and the Mac OS X disk. In each case, I get the message 'not succeeded the Windows Logo test'. If I click on "continue anyway" is seems to load pci.sys to C:\Windows\System32\drivers. I click 'Finish' in the last window but it begins the loop again and again and again. The virtual machine network adapter is set to NAT and everything seems to work fine, but I can't stop this annoyance. Any ideas?

There are 32 of these devices.  How many times have you finished yet?

  • Add the that Add Hardware Wizard does not see my physical DVD drive

I am trying to add a physical disk to my VM, but of physical drive is greyed out and I'm only able to use an ISO image (screenshot attached). I have a physical DVD unit which works fine, but also a player of Daemon Tools, but none of them are available for VMware server.

At first I thought it was because my two DVD players has been mapped to A: and B: letters (this caused some problems with other software). However, even after changing the letters and reboot it did not always work.

For reference, my host OS is Windows Vista Business.

    Hello

I use vista 64 ultimate as my host, and my dvd can be used.  I also have a dvd virtual alcohol120 and again, which can be used as a physical device.  My dvd is d: and the virtual dvd is e:

It would be reinstalling vmware now you have changed the drive letter? It seems a bit of a long shot, but I can't think of another reason why your drive can't be seen.  I guess it works ok with your host operating system. Maybe vmware is expected to also find d: when it installs.

    Good luck

  • Annoying popup of the new hardware wizard

Just upgraded my virus to a newer program.  During the instalation, have uninstalled all unnecessary programs free spyware I had on my computer.

When I start it, a "new hardware found" window immediately.

Why is this and how can I stop, as he reports is "unknown"?

    Hello
I suggest you to follow these steps and check if that helps:
    Method 1:
Start the computer in safe mode and check if the same problem occurs:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx?mfr=true

    Method 2:
Try to perform the clean boot and check if it helps:

NOTE: When you are finished troubleshooting, make sure that you reset the computer in start mode normal such as suggested in step 7 of the above article.

    It will be useful.

  • Adding SCSI - HOST OS card works fine, GUEST operating system does not see the new hardware

I have a HOST Windows XP Pro SP3 with VMWare v6.5.2 running Windows Server 2003 R2 STD, SP2 as OS GUEST running on any new Dell Precision T3500 Workstation.

I've closed the COMMENTS and then HOST. Installed an Adeptec SCSI 39160 card in the PC. The card is a 64-bit and is installed in a PCI 32-bit slot. (It is backwards compatible with 32 - bit)

Powered on PC. Install the drivers of Adeptec on the HOST. Works fine and I can see the card under Windows XP. Rebooted and everything is always OKm POST shows the installed card and search devices. I have no device attached at this point.

GUEST operating system has started and it does not automatically detect the card. Tried to run the Add Hardware Wizard and same result. Tried to use VMWare to install the new Hard ware with no result.

Can tell you how I can get the OS TO see / use the new SCSI card?

    golden rule:

old guest will love the buslogic controller

new comments will love the lsi-logic controller

    It depends on your guest

  • How can I delete a library as soon as I add through the Add Wizard library

    Hey guys,.

noob question... I get a compilation error ' cannot find - lbbcascadesmultimediaqmlplugin_1_0 "the qml media stunts plugin is a library, I added by mistake using the Add Library Wizard (right-click on the project, configure... Add the library).

    How can I remove this?

I've removed references to it as an asset in the bar - desriptor.xml, but it always gives me an error when I try to compile.

    Thank you

    J

Are you sure that you have removed all references to the library in the file of the bar - desriptor.xml. There will be multiple copies of the list of libraries, one for each build configuration. If you have not added the build configurations of your choice, there will be four lists of library in the xml file, and so four references to the library that must be removed.

UPDATE: Oops, I did not for a long time, so I didn't hear your (and my) of the error. It isn't the file bar - descriptor.xml you removed from the library, this is the .cproject file in the root directory of the application. All of the configuration for your app Momentics is in this file, so make sure that you back up before you mess with it and remember that there are multiple entries for the library that you want to remove, one for each build configuration. You need to remove all the.

  • No USB in Wizard don't add hardware

My ESX Server has 2 physical USB ports on the back of it.  I use the Infrastructure Client to add material to my VM.  My Add Hardware Wizard gives me the options of Serial Port, parallel Port, floppy drive, CD/DVD drive, Ethernet card and hard drive.  It also lists a SCSI Device (unavailable) option greyed.  Why can't I add USB ports to a virtual computer?

  • New Hardware Wizard

Problem is that the window of the wizard is only half open, will not close. Stays in front of the Solution Explorer when you surf, very distracting. Can I just he remove "Control Panel"?

Why the wizard starts in the first place?  It will appear (or disappear) If reset you?

  • Find him that new hardware wizard will not disappear.

I installed a new master hard drive internal, that works fine and passes all diagnostic tests.  Whenever I have turn on or reboot the system, the found new hardware wizard laucnhes.  After going through the installation process, I get the message "cannot INSTALL THIS HARDWARE - the specified service does not exist as an installed service.»  I close the window and it goes away until the next time I turn on the computer.  There is a yellow dot with an exclamation point in it when I go to Device Manager.  How can I get rid of the yellow dot and! and stop the new Wizard of found material to start whenever I turn on the computer?  It is a hard drive master and theoretically should not require a device driver.

I think that I fixed it.

I tried to do a Windows repair, but after the reboot, a fatal error has occurred.  This could be because my disc to install Windows to the original address is SP (1) and my current system is MS (3).  I couldn't find a CD version of the installation for SP92) or (3).

I ran the installer for MS (1) (even though I lost all my programs and devices) and print the Info for the new disc access key hard (which is installed and detected the new hardware wizard caused no start).  Then I restored my system software mirroring.  I used regedit to change the key for quick access to the settings that I had printed.  I noticed that there is quick access keys (in the directories of the ENUM/IDE) always in the system from my old hard drive, so I have demolished their.

So far, the problem seems to have disappeared.  I hope this can help someone if the future who entcounters this problem.
