The only way to lock a form in Reader is the signature?

Hello

In my business, we're investigating the use of PDF forms in Adobe Reader XI. So far, I have not touched no limitation.

After completing a form, it must be locked so it cannot be changed. The lock didn't need to be highly secure, as we try to prevent more accidental fraud changes. From what I've seen, signature seems to be the standard mechanism to lock a form. Is this the only way? Signature also has regulatory implications that we do not necessarily want when locking on a form.

Thank you!

R.

An alternative is defining the fields read-only via JavaScript, which will prevent accidental changes.

Player also flatten the form when it is saved after e-signature, which is not the same as the digital signature. This converts the regular content fields, making it difficult to extract the data from the form.
