The original dng files trapped in the clouds?

I do not have a pc and therefore don't have mobile Lightroom.

I transferred raw files from my digital camera to my phone. Then I added to Lightroom for mobile and created a collection.

I'm unhappy with mobile Lightroom because I can't "save under".  In addition, I am not happy with the low resolution JPEG images that become my dng files and there isn't an option to export to a better quality.

I decided that I would rather not use Lightroom for mobile and that is when my problems began. Apparently, my original dng files have been moved to lr mobile (as opposed to copied).

I can't find my original dng on my device files. Someone please help...

My original dng files are caught in the trap in the clouds of Adobe? How can I recover my original camera files and save them on my mobile?  Please please help. Thank you for your time.

Hello johns,

When you import your images in Lightroom Mobile, intelligent previews are generated and stored in Lightroom.

The original images remain on your phone until you delete them manually from the gallery. They are never transferred to the cloud.

  • Can I re - merge a catalog of smart with their original dng previews in a different catalog?

    I can do this wrong...

I exported a catalog of the only intelligent seen at work with my MBP. It is as simple as the import of this new catalogue back in my master catalog where the original dng files, or is there some other tricks, I have to do? If I import the smart preview catalog, it will create duplicates or it will merge previews with their corresponding originals.

Looks like I answered my own question. It is possible to simply update the previews and parameters for the main catalogue of development.

I created a test catalog of a few chose my preview catalog smart and then imported this catalogue in my master catalog. The dialog box gives me the opportunity to not import the original files and update the previews, metadata and develop settings only.

So all is good. Thanks for all the weight.

  • If I use iCloud photo library to share photos on my Mac, make the stay of the files full original size on my Mac or they stored in the cloud?

If I use iCloud photo library to share photos on my Mac, make the stay of the files full original size on my Mac or they stored in the cloud?

    Thank you!

The photos full size will always go to the cloud. They also remain on (or download) your Mac depends on if 'Download this Mac originals' or 'Optimize Mac storage' is ticked in Photos > Preferences > iCloud. If it is enabled, it also depends on how much storage is available on your Mac.

  • Is there a reason to save the original NEF files after import for the LR in the form of files 'convert to DNG?  Is there a reason to save the two versions?  The NAVE seems to have no further use other than too much hard drive space.

Is there a reason to save the original NEF files after import for the LR in the form of files 'convert to DNG?  Why save versions when the DNG is the original and the NAVE seems to just take remote hard drive space?

I see no reason to keep them, they take a lot of space, one of the reasons to convert to DNG is that they are almost 20% smaller than the ships.

But it is of course your choice...

  • The DNG format conversion and loss of the original RAW file?

I was guided to implement my structure of import so that Lightroom would take my Canon. Cr2 files and convert them to DNG on import. Now, I find that for a major competition, they want to see the RAW file origin but while in the preferences panel, I've had 'data fast loading Embed' checked, I had not checked the box for "Embed original RAW file. Thus, it is impossible for me to produce the original RAW file now?

If I check the box to embed original raw file, what are the implications for the sizes of files and disk space?

After you click Import there are choices in the upper part of the import dialog box. If your photos are imported from the camera or camera card select copy. If the CR2 files are already in a folder on your computer, choose Add. LR will bring in the original CR2 files and create a XMP sidecar for each of them.

Create a XMP file does not by default. You need to tell Lightroom to do by turning on an option or by using a command. Some people never use the XMP sidecar files.

  • How can I synchronize the folder with the dng files original with the lightroom folder, where I've renamed the photos

My drive hard extern lost all of a folder with pictures of wedding in it. I woked on the .dng files, renamed them and does in jpg format. This morning I couldn't find the folder with the original and jpg files more. So I have the original images in my backup hard drive. My question is, as I've renamed them and in the folder that I took of the backup folder, they still have the original name, I don't know how their synchronization.

    Hi gabyl,

You can try to rename the original files on your back upward and convert to DNG so and link them to the missing images as a result of the article.

  • How to export the library Photos Apple to Adobe Creative Cloud maintaining the original RAW files

    Hello community,

I feel 'stupid' as I was on Adobe on my Windows system, then when I went to Mac, I used their Apreture and having migrated to their last Photos app, and affected by the many limitations of it, I try to export my library of Photos Apple together (two of them) in Adobe Creative Cloud.

The big worry here is that if such a device exists on end of Adobe? And, personally, I spoke with support from Apple for the Photos app and I was told there is _no way_ to export their photos app original RAW files!  It's horrible for a photographer!

Basically, just want to know if there is a way to migrate the library of Photos Apple (keeping the RAW digital files) on Adobe Creative Cloud.  I searched and not found an answer in the FAQ.

    Thank you

    Ramiel

Using the Apple Photo of Unmodified Original export feature, it seems, the original RAW. CR2 file could export... so looks like I have to export as this manually and reorganize everything.

Adobe really needs to have this feature/plugin.  Suggest this feature on http://feedback.photoshop.com and suggest others do as well.

  • Reveal the type of original for DNG file

Is it possible to tell if a DNG is the result of the conversion of a cr2/nave vs jpeg or tiff? I think remember me a 'original file' field in the metadata in the past.

There is a "OriginalRawFileName" tag, and as far as I know, the canon marker "RecordMode" is kept in the DNG file.

Nikon and others should have such a tag too.

but LR will not show these default tags.

you need to change the display of the metadata to DNG.

If you use exifgui, you can view the RecordMode tag too.

I hope that they address it quickly.  It is painful to have discovered my renowned PDFs are to difficult to identify file names their given by their authors.

  • CAN I KEEP A SECOND COPY OF THE FILE ON THE CLOUD

I tried to save a backup, second copy of a file on the CLOUD. But it seems that then the file on drive C: in the DOCUMENTS is missing. In other words, the file appears only in one place, but not the two places. OR, recorded in DOCUMENTS and then stored in the CLOUD, it removes the DOCUMENTS on the C drive.

That is the way it should be, or is it a preference to allow these?

"Drive C"?  It's a Windows term.  So I assume you mean primary storage to your Mac.

Anyway, looks like you want only two copies of your document in the cloud.  Why not simply duplicate the original document?  You do not have to tell us what software you use to create this document, but Apple products like Pages and preview have a file > duplicate menu item.  They give the file duplicated a slightly different name from the original that is displayed when you perform the action in double.

  • move the cloud files account different cloud

    Hello

Inadvertently, I have two different accounts of CC. One account was created when I started using the mobile app 'Ideas' several years ago. I have a hundred drawings stored on the cloud under this code. I also created a profile when I bought a membership CC with Creative Suite (paid in advance for a year - in February). What I would like is to have the folder 1 CC (the one with the designs) available when I am logged in as the user 2. My first impressions are a) cancel the membership on the 2nd account and sign up for the account of the 1st account. It would probably cost me money, but it will extend my subscription of 2 months. (b) find a way to save files CC (in their original format, not only in JPEG format) on my hard drive, so I can sync it with the 2nd account.

I would appreciate any feedback or advice I can get. BTW, I already tried to go through customer on this subject and they were unable to help.

    Thank you

    Christa

Since the page creations site active CC to https://assets.adobe.com/assets/mobile Mobile, you can use the Send link to make a public link to the old account with the files of ideas and then use Copy creative cloud to save in the new account.

  • Where to save the converted dng files

When I import my raw files I automatically convert them to DNG. Can I control where the dng files are saved. For example can I place the dng in a folder with my original CD I imported the raw files are located? Currently my dng files are saved on my c drive in my picture folder, but the dng is taking up way too much space.

    Mickey

    Hi videocrafters9799abc,

You can change the location of the files when you import, you must define a Destination folder when importing images.

If you wish, you can move the dng files, and then reconnect them in Lightroom.

    Kind regards

    Tanuj

  • Copyping raw as DNG files files - import, copy to the choice of location, etc.?

    First of all:

When I copy as DNG files raw files, the pane on the right shows where will be placed the copies.  (I use Windows 7) I did not have many choices and cannot set a default value.  The default choice is 'My images' on the C: drive.  I have a Solid State Drive, SSD and NOT to store my photos on this small 256 GB drive.  I store my images on an internal hard drive.

All I want to do is on the default 'Copy To' location where I store my images.  I want to copy them into the original folder, in a separate folder (for example, LR DNG).  Instead, I have to open the SSD, find files and copy them into my favourite place.  It's very irritating.

    Second:

Worse, it seems that the copy function puts the images copied in several files.  I had 11 images from raw files that have been put in three separate files.  It seems pretty stupid to me.  It makes me work more open files and copy them to the root folder.  It's very irritating.   What happens here?

If these two issues can be resolved? Thank you, in advance.

I use the DNG converter stand-alone that works faster. You can process files in a single folder has your final destination and then make the DNG in Lightroom using:

    Import > add

  • The DNG files CR2 format conversion

With Adobe DNG Converter, is there no way to automatically delete the original CR2 files because they are converted to the DNG format, so that I don't end up with two versions of each file, one with a CR2 and the other with a suffix DNG? I could not find this option in the preferences of a DNG.

    Thank you very much!

Not in the DNG Converter. However, if you use the DNG Converter to download your images from the card you can simply convert that they are downloaded. Then all you have to do is to format the card in your camera again. If you convert to DNG using Lightroom, after the images have been imported you can set your options to remove the original raw file after successful conversion.
