The reunion album artist is no longer possible?

Hello

I installed iTunes 12.3.2.35 and adding new albums/titles, sorting is all wrong.

I group my music by "album artist" (by example a "3 albums, 27 tracks' Artist); for collaborations (e.g. 'artist and artist B' like 'artist'), I put the "album artist" to"artist" so the collaborative album appears with the other albums under the artist of the album "artist A.

Same for all the various tracks, I put 'various' as "album artist" while they are all grouped together.

I just did the same thing for some newly imported other titles, changed the album artist so they would be grouped together, but now they are published separately:

for example the artist a (newly added album), above the artist has (all previously added albums)

for example various (1 newly added track), above various (597 tracks)

How can I combine them together again as an "album artist"?

Thank you!

-Brecht

Look for the values defined in the type Album artist who could break the grouping.

Can someone tell me how to solve this problem? I put a lot of effort in organizing my collection and I hate to see 15 sections 'Lil Wayne' in my artist entry or right of the complete discography of Paul McCartney by Paul McCartney with 1 song. I tried to edit all the files together, intentionally misspelling the name and spelling then it right once again, but it do not work and that the use of work well, but it doesn't seem to work.

If iTunes displays multiple instances of an artist or an album then generally what works is to select all the associated tracks and use read information to add say end X for each of the areas that the slopes have in common:

    • For an album. Album, artist of the Album and artist (if the artist is the same for all tracks) *.
    • For an artist; Album artist (artist and unless there is the comments/featured artists listed that should not be changed)

Apply the change which merges things together, then remove the excess characters. Occasionally, it can help to close and reopen iTunes between two renaming operations. Part of a compilation should also be set in a consistent manner.

    * If the titles must be synchronized to a non - iOS device, there should be a common artist and/or album must be defined as a Compilation.

Use the view of songs and display fields, Album, genre, Album, Album artist, genre artist Album, artist and genre artist side by side to see you whether or not it is necessary to change the artist and if sorting values could be the cause of additional problems. See grouping in albums, titles for help if necessary.

Another tip duplicates stubborn reality. At one point, I had three batches of various artists in the view of artists in my iTunes game library that wouldn't meet usual backward X treatment. What I found worked was adding the final X, but with each group, iTunes wanted to separate start typing a value and let iTunes autocomplete of the Var... for various artists. Collection of AutoComplete lists seemed to work when the full value of collage/montage does not.

    Lvhout,

You seem to be the first person to notice him, but I just tried with iTunes 12.3.2 and found the same problem.

You can send comments directly to Apple at this link:

  • iTunes sorts only the new songs from the album artist; Cannot select multiple artists

I had this problem for awhile now.  Whenever I have add a new song to my library, it will sort as a new artist, even if I already have this artist.  For example, I'll add a new Bayside song to my library, and despite the fact that I already have two albums of Bayside, the new song will sort itself separately from him, leaving me with two Baysides.  The only way to fix it is to add the album artist in both the novel and the stuff I already had.  It's incredibly frustrating, especially since iTunes allow me to select several artists both in the artist's view (although I can select several songs and albums - this seems to be a problem only when the view is the sidebar, as in the views of artist, Genre and composer).

Help with fixing a problem (preferably both, although) it would be appreciated.

I am currently using iTunes 12.3.2.

It's a response of turingtest2 to a very similar to your question.  Maybe this will help.

12 iTunes keeps having the same artist twice in the artist column

Using the view songs grab all the tracks by an artist of the album given that you are having problems with and then read the information. Tab sort add set Album artist & artist album, X, click OK, and then return to . If you synchronize your content on a non - iOS such as classical iPod device, then you must also make sure artist is constant in the whole album. I propose generally invited and artists featured in the names of individual songs.

  • Problem: Only tracks from the first album of my first artist will play

OK, I just got the Sport Clip MP3 player this Christmas... a 'red'... holds 4 GB.
(1000 songs). I am trying to charge about 25% as many files as one.

This post is about my SECOND problem with this device:

So I have a group of music CD that I recently ripped

pieces chosen and I am now trying to load and listen to them
    on this new MP3 player.

I ripped the tracks about 3 to 6 months, using Win - 7 and the
    Microsoft "Windows Media Player".

[I copied MP3 files of your sample provided by the player on my laptop
(for analysis and guard) and then delete those files from the
drive... they resided in the "Music" folder it. ]

Then, as I did with SUCCESS for my old small MP3 player
(called an 'Eclipse'), I just did a GUI-copy (by press Ctrl-A)
series of directories and then "glued" (with Ctrl-V key) those in
now empty the folder of music on the MP3 player. It took everything a
While (he said 287 files have been copied) and they pass got there very well.

OK, but now only the files of the alphabettically artist-FIRST,.
that is to say Bob Dylan tunes, seem to play! However, I checked all the others
files of 8 or 10 artists are also residents.

Photo of Bob Dylan from the (first) album cover look fine (this magic
worked)... to see the photo album and titles appear very well in the
    small graphics window.

But I can't navigate to a subfolder of the records of any other artist so everything that
I listen to are the tracks from the first album of Bob Dylan (for example 5 songs)!

[These exact steps works very well on my plu 'Eclipse' $20 $ MP3 player.]

So, any ideas on what could be "broken"? This product is ready for
Prime time? (I think I saw an ad for it on your site, dated from)
11 months ago... February, 2014). I just bought this thing
before beginning last December, 2014 at BestBuy.

    All ideas welcome. Help, please!

    TIA...

OK, what I said in the previous answer, while true, is NOT what the problem was.

The problem was that the unit do NOT have the latest firmware in there!

We have that probably all assume that a device purchased just before Christmas (approximately one month)

would have the latest firmware in it.  But who are not necessarily the case.

The last/most recent firmware RIGHT NOW (in January 2015) is version 1.22.

So I would advise anyone who purchases the Sport Clip to CHECK and see what it

review is currently in the unit, and if it's less than that, your FIRST step

    is to update!

To check this, simply navigate to 'Settings' > 'System Settings' > 'Info' and examine

the number of 'Version '.  (Think I have this right.!)

Once updated, now when you load your music files, you have the best chance all

will work as it is supposed to.  [I said 'best chance' because there may be still other bugs.]

    ===========

    My proof of this:

    (1) Firstly, I attached the MP3 player to my computer and DELETED all the

songs that I had loaded into his 'Music' folder

    (2) then, I followed the procedure to update the firmware, as shown on this Web site.

    (3) Finally, I topped up my MP3 files, still in their 'sub-repertoire-tree' format, in

the 'Music' of the device file, exactly as I had done earlier.

Yes, everything works NOW as expected... I can now listen to every album of

    all the artists.

Hope this helps someone else who has had problems!

  • Windows Media Player 12 loses album artist information when you use WHS .wav

There seems to be a bug in WMP 12 who loses the album artist information when you use a WHS .wav files.

Installation - WMP 12 on Windows 7 ultimate. WHS pp3. Music files stored in .wav format.

There is a marking Wav format is possible. I read on Broadcast Wav files. They are 32-bit. I also read on 64-bit Wav files. What I read there is a limit to the size of the files Wav 32-bit and 64-bit Wav files exceed this limit. Most of the people don't need now. But as a producer of music, I can see how me should before you. Look for a program called reason by Propellerhead software: http://www.propellerheads.se/products/reason/. I ' v read in their help file, you can send support and they will help you find what you need. I've also read about this and said a little on other internet forums for producers. I have no reason, I use another software.

Broadcast Wav: He is apparently slightly different than regular Wav files. It doesn't have as much support. Some programs or systems apparently don't read the id3 tags, have trouble with the id3 tags or have trouble with this format. So until this id3 Wav tagging is common and Wav files EVENTUALLY get their marking permanently, then what is out at the moment is all that is available.

WMA lossless, Wav and mp3 320 kbps, etc. have a difference in sound. Listen for yourself on your device with the SAME material and the SAME Ripper programs your test files.

The other way I tested is: I make music. Then I tore, Wav, WMA Lossless and a type of lossless, mp3 320 Kbps and mp3 256 kbps. I put all the them in the music program, I separated, but on the same timeline. I cut everything that I did not listen. I spent some time checking them. There were notable and other differences not so. I noticed a difference in the WMA and WAV. It's light and sometimes noticeable. Most people cannot tell the difference, and an MA at home or in a club from a Wav will not be a huge difference, especially when a Dj, or you can set low, the midrange and treble slightly.

I couldn't test the AAC lossless files. My program is old and can't stand them. AAFC would however close to WMA. Give or take.

WAV is a champion and always the wins service. I wish he was marking. :-).

Windows Media Player has a certain set of algorithms. And one CAN customize the tear. Some ripping programs ALLOW you to customize the way in which he is torn. But you can run into problems. For example: some compression or equalizer settings are perfect for 90% of an album, but most of the songs are recorded differently or edited and mixed differently. If they are not always level throughout the album, and there may be some fluctations.

I myself would enjoy tears to measure for a better quality and even be able to MAXIMIZE the lossless or compressed (for example: mp3) formats and make their the best sound possible. But it takes too long, and most people don't have this time or need this. These people do as a profession, are HARDCORE audiophiles or archive sound for a much higher use,:-P.

I don't know what are the algorithms of WMP to rip. ITunes or WinAmps, etc.. It comes to be able to do custom tears. These algorithms affect your copy, transfer and archiving. This is another reason why each program is slightly different, even when they use the same open or not open source coding.

That's what I'v has learned. It's the best I got.

  • Songs from the same album are organized in different versions of the album

Several songs on the album are purchased on iTunes so when weve deviated our own music library on tends them to be several versions of each album it appears each with different songs on the album. The problem still persists when viewing music on any of our apple devices, even when you look at the 'albums' category there are several versions of many albums that have only 1 or 2 songs each. • Album artist vs artist

I always found the hypothesis iTunes to sort on "Album Artisit' rather than 'Artist' to be incongruos.  If "Album Artist" is empty, as is likely (and is the historic norm than iTunes 7, I believe, when 'Artist album' for the first time), then sorting uses "artist."  Otherwise, it re-roots for "Album Artist".

Since its inception, I spent hours - with great pleasure I would add - search and adding details of individual artists who are on a given track.  I still have them added under "Album Artist", leaving the 'artist' as it is.  It has allowined me to create playlists of many guitarists, saxophonists, drummers, bassists, etc... using the function "contains" in the smart playlists.

It's great!  For example, it allows me to follow the career of a given artist.  Take the jazz guitarist, John McLaughln which has a remarkable and more versatile career and I was able to see the month here in Santiago of the Chile at the age of 74.  He played with all kinds of groups of albums and artists throughout his career, beginning with "Extrapoliation" in 1969 - "John McLaughlin, John Surman, John Odgers & Tony Oxley", Miles Davis the same year, heard on "The Complete in a Silent Way Sessions" with "Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Joe Zawinul, John McLaughlin, Dave Holland and Tony Williams. , and then in 1970 on "A handful of beauty" with Shakti - including "John McLaughlin, Zakir Hussain, Lakshminarayana Shankar and Vikku Vinayakram.  Then an advance for the 1984 revolutionary album "Friday Night in San Francisco with"Al Di Meola, Paco Lucia and John McLaughlin".» More recently (2008) on the album "Five Peace Band Live" with "Chick Corea, John McLaughlin, Kenny Garrett, Christian McBride and Vinnie Colaiuta", right through to his latest album which he and his band "The 4th Dimension" - "John McLaughlin, Gary Husband, Etienne me Bappe & Ranjit Barot" played here in the Chile last month.

However, when I come to sort by "Artist" on my iPad or iPhone, I can not do or find 'John Mclaughlin & The 4th Dimension', as it automatically (although it is not the say - a product to sort my music by "Album Artist".

"I'd love to alternate power between how I want spell -"Artist"or the artist of the Album '- and take advantage of this option as a simple option toggle in the configuration settings.  It is useful for others?  What to do for the next release?

I think you use the artist and album back.  Artist album is the sort key field. If an album is X-band, but a track has been a guest there then the artist album should be X and the artist should be X with the exception of the a track where it is X with Y.  I would review how you do things and then make suggestions to Apple.  Realizing that he is a quite obscure request, so don't hold your breath.

    http://www.Apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html

  • Is there a way to create a smart playlist without several songs from the same album?

I would like to create a smart playlist without several songs of his same albums.  Is this possible?

    Timo,

    Unfortunately not.

Smart playlist logic analyzes each song individually and includes those who correspond to rules.  There is no way to write a rule that depends on other songs in the same album.

  • Radio station, which was to play the selected album.

Is there an application of radio station for an iPhone that plays the selected albums or songs on the album artist. I downloaded, Spotify, Pandora, Slacker and iHeart, all artists are similar shuffle, I don't want to. I can do with Spotify on my desktop, but not the iPhone.

    Thank you.

At least with the paid version of Spotify, you can choose what songs or albums you want to play.

Streaming services these lazy ash and Pandora is not the type of license to play songs or albums on request.

  • 12.3.2 iTunes does not merge the titles into the existing album

I wanted to add a few tracks stolen in my singles vinyl as bonus tracks to an album from iTunes 12.3.2.35. I added album to a playlist and the titles of the albums OK. Yet somehow tracks have not been added to the appropriate albums. They stayed in one album (with two different titles!) which had the same title on an already existing album.

I've checked and checked, but all fields have been entered correctly. I could force to merge an album by selecting the titles on two albums (one regular and one album with two titles above) by renaming the album of "title" to "title -" and back. I have concluded that this must be a bug so I tried the same thing with the other. Unfortunately, this does not work.

That's what looked like the album in iTunes:

    and in the Finder:

I finally got everything in a single album by adding a fake and removing album artist tag. But there must be something of really off with the new iTunes and grouping in albums.
