• Rolling edit tool bug in CS7

  I'm really sorry, that I upgraded to CS7. I'm in the middle of a project of several camera. I generally do my changes add my transitions and then use the editing tool to fine tune the result. But the rolling edit tool will not work if a video transition has been applied. The slider has a red slash through it. Often I need to transition to determine exactly where to place change. Please fix this bug.

  In fact, you can roll the change with the tool rolling Edit with a transition in place. Simply place the cursor silightly above (or below) the Cup and the tool will be activated. Drag to roll the change as you normally would. Zoom and more if you can not get this to work.

• Selection tool became Rolling edit

  I am very confused and must have messed up something in the settings somewhere.

  I use Adobe first CC

  When I selected in the timeline panel (something of pointer) selection tool, it doesn't seem to work.  If I fly over the elements of editing the symbol that indicates is to change it to roll. Move a single item or clips stacked acts just like rolling Edit, and I can't figure how to get back to the basic selection tool.

  I see the same behavior in all sequences of the project I'm working on as well as sequences in other older projects. Then I suppose I must have messed up something in the Basic program, but I have no idea how to do to reset anything I did.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

• How to make default tool wand (instead of the Quick Selection tool)?

  Whenever I open my photoshop software, the default value of 'W' is the quick selection tool. I'd rather be the magic wand tool. Sometimes she stays tool magic wand, other times, it comes down to the quick selection tool. How can I get the 'W' to stay the magic wand tool by default and not switch back to quick selection? • Selection tool sensitive to color in a limited area of the image

  Hi all

  For my work, I am interested in the measure of the area of pixel of the dark (black) in the sub picture, even the smallest. For less complex images, I used the magic wand and the selection tools to select my black areas and have Photoshop CC 2015 do measures on my selection. The problem with the image below that I have is that there are so many blackheads and they are scattered all over the image. Non-continuous the magic wand option unfortunately does not work for me in this case, because some of the dark spots have the same color as the other dark areas in the picture. So far, I only managed to make a good choice by selecting each point individually, which is a very tedious and somewhat subjective work. What I would like is a sort of quick selection tool with a tolerance as the magic wand option, so I can just fly over areas with small black to select tasks that these. I don't think that this is available in Photoshop, I'm looking for alternatives. That would also work for me, it is to have a way to limit the area that the magic wand tool selects objects of. For example, set a small area (as one of the white ice blocks) and then use the selection option discontinuous of the wand in this ice blocks so it will only select the dark stains on the ice block. If I can do this several times and combine the selections, I should be defined as well. Is it possible to achieve such a thing in Photoshop? In other words, what I would basically is the type of features in the background removal tool, but then make a selection in the foreground based on a color. All other ideas, suggestions, tips and tricks are also welcome! I hope my question is clear and that there is a solution for my problem. I'm very new to photoshop, so please be very clear in your answer, so I can understand every step .

  3. return to the top layer, click on the layer to bring up the layer Style

  4. in the section mixture if move the top left right slider until the black dots you want are isolated.

  Also, consider using this technique after the first change the mode to grayscale

• I have acrobat 9 pro and I do not see the text edit tool, or in any case to change the spelling of the words, I have version 9.0.0

  I have acrobat 9 pro and I see no way to change the spelling of the text.  I know the search for instructions to do this it is assumed to be a right pane, but I have no right pane and I don't see how to get one to appear.  Thanks for any help.

  In Acrobat 9 the tool is called the "Text editor" tool It is included in the "Advanced editing" toolbar, so just with the right button of the toolbar area and select it from the list of available tools. Or you can select: Tools > advanced editing > text editing tool

  Try setting the checkboxes in Edit > Preferences > General to the following:

  -Make sure you select text of hand tool & images

  -Make sure you tool hand read articles

  -Make the tool use mouse wheel zoom

  These adjust to the need but it make a difference?

• Need help with the Selection tool

  I have a few strange occurrences (for me) while using the 'quick selection'...

  Explanation

  I'm using PS 11 items on a PC Win 7 (64).

  What I want to do is to create a new pic from an existing photo.  Background of the existing of the captain not suitable for what I want.  But the FG is what I need.  I thought that by selecting the FG object and to be placed in a new pic would be what I need using the <Quick Selection tool>.

  To do this, I try to use the <Quick Selection tool>.  I had degrees of success using it.  I do not understand one main thing & pretty much makes my useless project & voidable, is the fact that when I use <Refine Edge> so that I can refine my selection of edge, my pic is lost immediately or removed.  Since I have no idea what is going on, I am obliged to close the peak (without saving the changes, of course) and then re-opening the pic.  All is well until I click the button <Refine Edge> once again, then, my pic disappears AGAIN!

  My guess is that maybe the captain doesn't turn somehow a layer or something.  But, how can I disable this behavior and make not my pic disappear?

  There are a few more details on this selection tool <>I'm muddy on.  Is there something where I can read more on its use?  I would like to learn more, but how?  Where?

  Try to reset the tool. To do this, look for a box with lines inside on the tool, and then reset options bar.

  If that fixed it, reset the preferences. To do this, go in Edition > Preferences > General, click Reset preferences on the next launch.

• best selection tool to improve the sky showing through a naked tree

  I love this picture except the dull sky. I learned a number of ways to make pop heaven but, as seen in the attachment, a lot of the sky shows through the branches of a bare tree. I realize account that I have to do a lot of adding and subtracting any selection tool I choose but is there a preferred way so that I can minimize the pain and see a realistic sky through these branches?

  Try this:

  You need 2 photos: that you have with the dull sky you want to replace and a picture of a 'good' - all blue sky with clouds sky, nothing else about it. You can take the picture of heaven yourself, or download it from an external source.

  In addition, familiarize yourself with the gradient tool, as we will use this to step #7.

  1. Open your image (A) (file > open) and then open the image of sky replacement (B)
  2. On the photo of sky (B), go to Select > in the menu, and then edit > copy to the Clipboard
  3. Go back to your image (A), and then edit > paste. The new sky (B) should come on a new layer
  4. With the tool moving, use the corner handles to reduce the size of the sky (B) to cover the old sky on (A)
  5. In the layers palette, set the blend mode of (B) to darken
  6. The value of the foreground in white color chip
  7. Get the gradient of the toolbox tool, then drag a foreground to transparent, linear gradient from bottom to the top of the tree line, while holding down the SHIFT key.

I would like to see the preview to change on the solid object.  Is there a setting somewhere?

  Click on the rectangle (dotted rectangle) and you will see the elliptical marquee in the tool at the bottom of the PSE window options.

• The HELP-time acting crazy all of a sudden selection tool

  Hi all, audition CS6 is suddenly strange on me! I'm editing a digital audio book and have to shoot the dialogue of a male character from another file open to insert into my larger narrative... raw file so I come and go between these two files a little, but must remain in the place I left on each one... normally, it works beautifully. When I go to show a different file and return to the previous file 'always open', the average selection time remains the same place I left... but all of a sudden, he started the remaining at the time I left it on the PREVIOUS FILE... when I go back to the other file. Wow, let me rephrase that pack that was too complicated. If I'm in, let's say, position 02:14:12 file and then open the file B and copy a piece of audio, leaving the cursor in THIS file at position 00:00:45, when I switch back to file, the time selection tool is now at position 00:00:45, at the place where I left it.  Yet once, it is not used to do this (as in na not to last night even!) I tried to restart the computer, and that it was not fixed. I'm not aware of the evolution of all the settings, but I guess I must have accidentally hit the perfect storm of strikes to indulge in this 'option '.

  BTW, I thought it would be the preference-> reading-> return playhead to the start position to the stop (not that I had changed it) but that does not solve it either.

  Hi Melissa,

  Souinds as the preference "Synchronize between files" got turned on.  Open Preferences > General and uncheck "sync selection, zoom level and head of reading in all files in the Waveform Editor"

  

• Cursor does not change with the selection tool

  If anyone has experienced this?  My cursor suddenly does not change with the selection tools when working on the photos.  Once I roll over the image, the arrow disappears and becomes a strange 3 little things, so cannot do any work with precision.  Still using 7 PS in Windows 7.  It wasn't a problem before.  Already uninstalled and reinstalled and the problem is still there.  I searched where this can be corrected.  So far, no luck.  Any suggestions?

  whenever I use the selection tool, it selects the whole canvas and not the image I want.  Why do this?  How can I avoid this?

  It seems that thauser79 made a selection and then used Image > 90 CW rotation that runs everything, regardless of selection, and this led to the erroneous conclusion that a selection tool was badly behaved. As I said in the thread to which I linked, Edit > transform > rotate 90 CW will turn the selection only. Of course, your solution to transform free works too.
