The Service Interface of the network store CPU usage over 50%

Hello

For the last two weeks, I lived too much CPU usage of what looks like to the Service of interface network store on my computer. I tried various suggestions, for example using the Windows Update troubleshooting tool, etc., but I'm not able to use an any of them because once these applications are trying to look for updates they just hang there.

Any suggestions?

Thank you.

    Hello

I am using windows vista 64-bit edition. Recently I noticed it was a network activity of 2.5% during the period of idle. and when I use internet the % increases. I have no other significant problems with my PC. When I add a column (BytesRecvd) in the Task Manager. It also shows receive bytes. I checked the resource monitor, but it does not watch everything continues to receive bytes. I have tried all my ways to get rid of this. A full scan with Security Essentials, Malware analysis with Malwarebytes anti-malware. monitor task etc... But could not find a solution. I installed a separate installation of vista (32 bit) in another harddrive after you have completely disconnected from the current. and after completing the installation, the use of the % network sucked in an inactive state. I have not installed any software other than vista and Security Essentials.

I started to install the new updates of net, and after completing the updates it again 2.5%. Is this a bug in the updates or is no problem with my computer. Normally I use the system as a limited user privilege.

    Help, please.

    Anand

I'm happy I could help - it was my pleasure.

Thanks for the kind words and comments - it is greatly appreciated.

The fact that you have 0 activity in Mode safe suggests a program which does not work in mode safe but doesn't work in normal mode is causing the activity - but I don't know what that might be.

Try a boot minimum http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135.  If the problem goes away then it's just a matter of tracking down the culprit at the origin of the problem.   Follow the procedures described in the article.  Once found, remove, delete, disable or uninstall.  Once remember to put Vista in normal status, as described in the procedures. If the problem occurs in clean mode then just restore the system to normal and reboot - this solution will not work.

I hope this helps.  Post back if you have any other questions.

    Good luck and best wishes!

  • The Windows 7 CPU usage does not correspond to processes

I used this system with Win7 64 bit for years and the normal use of the processor is 3% (I keep a monitor app open all the time).  After a reboot, this morning, my use is stuck around 20%.  Nothing terrible and my performance is fine, but it worries me because it is not normal.  In addition, according to the focus of the mouse, 'busy' animation always goes, so it really seems that something is running.  What is really strange is that I can not reconcile the CPU usage by the process of use/idle.  When I bring up the Task Manager and look at the processes tab, the system idle process is consistently in the upper 90s and some processes show sometimes 1 or 2%.  This is all quite normal and I expect to see.  But the use of the CPU at the bottom of the window indicates 20% or more.  It makes no sense at all.  Idle process + the CPU usage must be about 100%.  I realize that it has rounded passes with the percentages of process, but inactive processes should be 100 - all processes and thus only one percent or so off, not 15% off service.

Is it possible that a process is running, that is hidden from me?  It seems unlikely that even if that were the case, it should affect the % idle process.  I did go to the performance tab and click on the "Resource monitor" button to get more details, but who do not appear to reveal something new.  Processes use about 20%, service about 1 or 2%.  The list of the process here does not show the idle process, but looking at the process I see only 3-5% use if I add.  This page gives percentages for the 100th of one percent, so it is not the question of rounding.

In the past, I could always correlate the use of the CPU in the process and you could see that was consuming the CPU and kill him if necessary.  But now I don't know what is happening.  Any suggestions on what to check would be appreciated.

I also, tried MSCONFIG and services and putting in service of the elements, everything makes sense, so I didn't try a clean boot.  I have a system restore a few weeks ago (and the data is backed up each night), but I'd rather not have to go through all this.

    Thanks for the help.

Alternatively, you can try to start the computer in Mode without failure, then whether the diagnostic mode safe tools providing information about the current state of problem.

To start in safe mode keep tapping on the F8 on the keyboard key during restart until Windows starts to load. An option will appear allowing you to choose boot safe mode with networking, select it and press .

  • Using too much CPU only when loading the network

When FF works closely with the network (wired or wireless) card for access to the network, CPU utilization spikes in way more than 70% and he stayed there until the page loading process finishes web.
After the upload is complete, the CPU usage remains somewhere between 5-10%.

When I look at clips youtube 1080 p, where FF is duty next buffer part of this clip I watch, new CPU use peaks above 70% with the flash plugin and gives a total of a 100% of cpu for a few moments and use which make this clip to stop playing or to frame bad times, and ties.

I have been activated in about: config webgl acceleration to activate the force and that much improve the initial problem, then I activated gfx.direct2D - activated force and also to improve the problem remaining.
I also disable the safe_mode parameter file adobe flash config protectedmode = 0.

I have to mention that the initial problem was way to bad ...

Now I get to point when I don't know what to do so that FF does not use much CPU loading pages.
As you can see I use to publish this version of Nightly 64 bit (I think it's the 64-bit version...) which is much more better and I would like to read youtube 1080 p clip normally, after that I have wait a few moments to buffer, before starting to play.
Version 32 bit FF won't let me watch YouTube without framing hurt when the clip is buffered.

I was monitoring the Task Manager and all the processes listed... and there, I can't blame antivirus or firewall to the peaks of the processor. Also if I do the rest of the network traffic, as well as inside the network custom CPU even file copy flinch.

Can someone help or give an opinion on what setting to do, so I can eliminate these spikes?

    Thanks in advance!

    Problem solved partially:

I have observed that the CPU spikes occur not only while I use FF or mozilla nightly, but on all web browsers (Chrome, IE, Opera, etc) that I have used, while these browsers accessing the network.

Uninstalling the firewall of the solution of the AV portion has helped a lot and by also disabling the bed in the firewall solution of W7, but for long term use, this isn't the right answer (for my at least). Without any firewall FF work or installed works like a charm, while the CPU usage is increased at a decent level of 50% max (total tasks and running services)!

Anyway, as I said earlier, my pc without any firewall operation is not a good think to do, so I'll replace my computer with a faster, or I'm going to overclock it at a level that zapping INTERNET and navigation will not infringe too much on the performance of the system, or... I live whit it and I accept the limitations...

Perhaps, in the development of the FF, programmers will keep in mind that not everyone on this planet has powerful processors - and... give a few options... to decrease the CPU at acceptable levels, event, even if they use the firewall solutions that violate on the CPU while FF is buffering of data across the network.

I should also mention that Mozilla nightly (64-bit) and FF, are always better then IE - in my opinion - which is.

  • Svchost.exe causing 100% cpu usage during the update of windows, even when disconnected.

I recently had to re - install windows xp on a new hard drive for replacement. My version of xp home edition, SP2 OEM installation disc. (This is ith group included IE6)

Once installed and running, could access windows update.

Read all the threads associated etc. and installed SP3, disc after downloading microsoft on another pc. Installed after three trys, first two caused various mistakes, but third attempt seems OK!

I've also updated the IE6 to IE8, as some sites obviously did not work properly with the older browser.

Now go do the automatic updates, or log for manual updates... BUT!

During the process, my cpu fan comes on fast and permanently! The CPU usage is showing that 100%, pc slows to crawl, the mouse becomes slow etc.

This has never happened before on this machine before you reinstall clean, he had already automatically updated to SP3 and went very well, it was some time ago, before the failure of hard drive, and it has never had this problem!

Only since having to do a cleaning manual update and re - install.

The culprit seems to be svchost.exe, once it is used by the update, running the cpu at 100% and continues to do so EVEN after stopping the service, until I manually stop with the Task Manager!

The svchost.exe instance showing a high is use: SYSTEM.

According to the files of help here, it is a known issue and a fix KB927891 was issued for SP2, but this should NOT be necessary for SP3, and in fact difficulty used to perform anyway under SP3!

Ideas for a guy to fix?

I appreciate the support for XP runs out quickly, and after this update of windows will be redundant, but in the meantime it is always useful!

Also if I turn off the automatic updates, how can I stop this annoying popup warning bubble?... I can't live without updating, but this bubble nag drives you nuts! :)

OK just a update, now running cool and 100% auto update and manual update... How? I hear you ask...

Well I had a beer and a reflection and came to the conclusion, it must be 'order' in which I updated the clean installation of XP.

Origin, I loaded the old OEM disc new hard disk, loaded the drivers etc, then stop at windows update for updated files.

Who told me my old incompatible browser and suggested an upgrade.

I downloaded and installed IE8... still no joy, reading the forums comments I downloaded and installed SP3... which SEEMED to work, BUT then all the hassle of cpu to 100% with the automatic update and updated manual on the windows don't update site!

So I just gritted my teeth, formatted the drive, another OEM of XP Home Edition SP2 installation loaded the drivers, installed a copy saved to SP3 and after restarting, THEN installed a saved copy of IE8 and THEN trotted off the coast to the windows update site... low and behold, it the connection without problem, did a search, and required updates appeared on the screen without delay all 123 of them...! :)

Did the updates, restarted and everything was fine, updates automatic in market and left the machine, after about 30 minutes appears the yellow shield, and it downloads a couple more update files without problem.

All this time I followed the via the Task Manager CPU usage and the strange spike waited 100% apartment, it was on average from 5 to 20%!...so a great improvement has this effect, by simply changing the order of the updates installed from the original! SP3 IE before IE8.

May not work for all have to do a clean install because of the HD failed, but its worked for me, and I am once more a "happy bunny!

  • Unable to find certificate to log on to the network

Well guys, I see that it is a problem that has been lingering for a while and I see that several people have described situations similar to mine, but so far I have not found anything to fix the problem if this annoying box is unchecked.
But fundamentally, our situation is as follows. We have a router that we all used without problems for more than six months on the four different laptops and a desktop computer. Two months ago the internet provider cut internet, but the router was plugged left. We have been able to access the router connection without problem. Then, last night, we got the internet hooked up again. I was able to connect to the router with my Toshiba laptop (Windows 7) and HP (Windows Vista) office, a roommate was able to connect with his Mac laptop (hell if I know what OS), but our other roommate is to get this identity validation / can not find the certificate on his Toshiba laptop (Windows XP). He followed the directions given and when it gets to the last statement, the box is unchecked and highlighted so that you can't do anything to change it anyway. It can connect to other signals, but not our home signal, which we left unsecured while we try to understand this. Help someone? We are open to suggestions here.

What are the directions have been followed?  What is "the last statement?

Do you mean the box for "enable authentication IEEE 802. 1 x for this network?  And what do you mean by ' underlined so you can't do anything to change it?  Do you mean that it is grayed out (see this screenshot:http://screenshots.modemhelp.net/screenshots/Windows_XP/Network_Connections/Wireless_Network_Connection/Properties/Wireless_Networks/Properties/Authentication.shtml )?

Delete the entry for the network entirely and start over:

    1. Open network connections (start > run > ncpa.cpl > OK)
    2. Right click on the wireless adapter icon and select Properties
    3. Click the "Wireless Networks" tab.
    4. In the list of "Preferred networks", look for the entry of your router, select it and click on the button Delete.  While you're here, you can as well delete the entries for other networks that you do not use.
    5. OK your way out
    6. Now, go to view wireless networks or view available networks, find your network and click on connect.
  • Change the subnet on the network profile

    Hello

Like a fool I created 3 network profiles and paths using 16 subnets when they should have been 24. I wonder now to open firewall rules to route to other VLANs in 24 of the subnets. As its 16 and the two first parts are identical i.e. 10.2.X.X they don't route through the firewall

The current VMS I can just go to manually change the subnet assigned to the NIC and they work.

When I look at a network profile to change the subnet - it is greyed out

Is there a way I can change this manually? so that the new virtual machines created with / 24 subnet and exisiting VMs I can manually change

Or is the only way to delete the network profile and start over. How this affect the VMs running other than bulk can try and assign an IP address already in use?

    Thank you!

You can try to update the database

Find the name of the profile

    SELECT * from StaticIPv4NetworkProfile

the name of the profile update

    Update dbo. StaticIPv4NetworkProfile

    Set SubnetMaskIPv4 = "255.255.255.0" where StaticIPv4NetworkProfileName = 'YOUR NETWORK PROFILE'

Open the database in SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio) and run the SQL query when it is connected to your database of vRA. He has not supported but will most likely solve your problem.

Or if you are not happy to do this directly through the database, you might try using the vRO vRA plugin and call the vCACEntityManager and update the StaticIPv4NetworkProfiles entity. My guess is the update of the database direct would be easier, but please take a backup and only update the field and nothing else.

  • Problem with the Ubuntu CPU usage

    Hello

We meet a few the next problem with an Ubuntu VM:

The virtual machine has 8 vCPU (increased from 2 Sockets with 4-core to 8 outlets with a carrot) and the latest VMware tools installed. Even if there is a lot of load on this system, the virtual machine seems to use about 25% to 50% of CPU capacity. The return of the command vmstat 1 during this time is:

    user: 28%

    system: 4%

    inactive: 78%

    wait: 0%

VCenter statistics shows a spike on the CPU load, but epi only climbs and rest between 25 and 50 percent or a maximum use of 7 309 MHz (about 16,000).

Since a thread can use 100% of a vCPU it may be a problem of thread on your application.

You should look at the use of the individual processor instead of overall consumption.

Lets say that the application can use only 1 wire but it uses 100%, this means that it will use to 12.5% of the total cpu resources allocated to this virtual machine. (100/8)
