The upgrade of the Mavericks to El captain

I get the message update to El Capitan of Mavericks, I have a 21.5 "iMac intel Core i3, 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 OSX10.9.5 but only half of the 8.8 GB of memory it says I need for El Capitan, I should forget about it?

8.8 GB requirement is disk space, not RAM. To do this, choose the computer from the Finder Go menu, control-click on the internal drive and then specify read the information.

  • Body of the email missing after the upgrade of the Mavericks in El Capitan

I upgraded from the Mavericks to El Capitan today and although my Inbox lists my emails in a column on the left, the body of the message is missing. I have double-clicked on the messages and still get nothing. In addition, all of my sent mail disappeared and there is that nothing that is listed. I checked the pane accounts and my account is activated and all others are disabled. Any help would be appreciated.

    Try the following:

    1. Abandonment of post
    2. Move ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail to the desktop.
    3. Restart the messaging
    4. If Mail is not working properly, remove the com.apple.mail you had previously moved on the desktop.

  • Upgrade to the Mavericks without new installation Mountain Lion?

    Hi guys,.

I'm looking to upgrade my Mac to the Mavericks Mountain Lion (I do not want to Yosemite or El Capitan again that not all my software is fully compatible), but I was wondering if it was possible to not have to do a clean install, but just upgrade?  I know it was an option when Mavericks was the current OSX, but don't know if it's feasible now.

I have the installation of the Mavericks.

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you!!

    James

    Yes. Install it normally.

  • I have an iMac 2007 running osx 10.6, I would upgrade to the Mavericks.  I don't have an installation CD, how to accomplish this?

I have an iMac 2007 mid running osx 10.6 with 4 GB of Ram. I want to upgrade to the Mavericks, 10.9. I don't have the installation CD and the App store only allow me to upgrade El Capitan. I'm afraid that this will bring my iMac to a crawl. Any thoughts on how I can find an installation CD or recommend other methods to achieve this?

    Thank you

    Larry

Your model is eligible? You can install El Capitan now. There is no disk installer for use with OS X since the release of Snow Leopard. Why do you believe that El Capitan will bring your computer to a crawl, but the Mavericks will not?

If I were you I would stick with Snow Leopard, because it is more suitable for your old hardware. Note that Snow Leopard is needed in order to upgrade to Lion or later version.

    Upgrade to Snow Leopard

You can buy Snow Leopard at the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (US). The price is $ 19.99 plus tax. You will receive a physical media by mail after placing your order.

After the installation of Snow Leopard you will need to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Combo Update v1.1 update Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store lets you download Mavericks if your computer meets the requirements.

         General requirements for Snow Leopard

    1. equipped mac to an Intel processor

    2. the 1 GB memory

    3. 5 GB of available disk space

    4. DVD drive for installation

    5. some features require a compatible Internet service provider;

    charges may apply.

    6. some features require Apple iCloud services; fees and

    conditions apply.

    Upgrade to El Capitan

You can pass the Lion El Capitan or directly from Snow Leopard. El Capitan can be downloaded for FREE from the Mac App Store.

    Upgrade to El Capitan

To upgrade to El Capitan, you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or installed Lion. Download El Capitan from the App Store. Sign in with your Apple ID. El Capitan is free. The file is big enough, more than 5 GB, allow it some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.

Mac that can be upgraded to OS X El Capitan

  • Scan C5180 not working after upgrade of the mavericks

After upgrading my Macbook Air to the operating system of Mavericks, my software of scan C5180 does not include the overview / dots a longer selection.  These are the points that allow you to select only part of the image of bed scanner for treatment.

The scanner / printer software has been updated by the o/s update Lion to the Mavericks.

MacBook Air does not include a CD option, so I can't go back to the original driver.

Thanks, but none of it helped.

I got running again by installing an older driver from a site "archived drivers."  And I will decrease just suggestions more Apple to upgrade a current driver for the C5180.

  • Yet 5.1 crashing after upgrade to the Mavericks

    Hi all

Like many Mac users, I've recently updated to OS Mavericks. Since then, I had problems with still freeze everytime I try to import anything into it. I get constantly spinning wheel and finally have force quit, stop, restart. I'm currentlyrunning Creative Suite 5.5. I watched the upgrade to 6, but I don't really like the idea of a tax for every month forever, and it seems that there is no guarantee that this step would fix my problems. I'm not even certain that the Mavericks is the cause, but it's the only thing that has changed that I can think of 100%. Someone at - it suggestions?

    It happens too often.

I honestly lost count times I heard stories from one OS to another (it could still be called OS - X, but in reality each revision is a different OS, using the same name to maintain the myth of the "superiority of the Apple"). So many people I know who run Logic Audio & PT on the same system are getting this problem. They change the operating system and then half of their software simply will not run any failure of plugins, or else load in one application, but not the other, causing large amounts of time either to support online or on the phone to support trying to get things working again, but they usually blame everyone but Apple & themselves.

A change of operating system is an important thing and a very big deal indeed - before making such a drastic thing, it's really a good idea to do everything saure is compatible as well as ensure that all the drivers are also compatible too (cards sound cards, graphics etc.)

Never will be supported on Mavericks simply because it is the end of life - Sonic Solutions (who has obtained a license of the AuthorCore again to Adobe) have been swallowed by Rovi (whose business model is based on streaming on demand) who killed Sonic Solutions, at the end of 2012, finally withdraw all support on December 31, 2013. This affecvted Scenarist SD, Scenarist BD 4 and BD5, Code Total, CineVision, all this--gone. The argument was that "optical media are dead", but my cynical mind told me they saw an opportunity to take their main competitor out of the game and went for it. Companies that had spent tens of thousands of pounds on seriously expensive high-end creation & encoding tools suddenly were on their own with no support. Nice gesture, Rovi.

Another victim here was Adobe, who found themselves with no way to change the license to the authorcore then bye-bye yet. Adobe has made * No * stop supporting yet--people who bought Sonic Solutions he killed, and I don't see Adobe to start from scratch and build their own tool to make that development costs would be enormous.

    Alternatives?

On a Mac, very few - if any. On the top of my head, I can think of Sony Creative Software for PC (Vegas Pro 12 will be written but not reproducible disc) and DVD-logic (not too sure what are the OS supported - PC, certainly, but not at all sure of Mac). If you need to get replicated discs then AACS is a must and you have the possibility of the DoStudio or Blu-Print (Rivergate software created an add-on for reminder allow the formatting correct the BDCMF, but it also will likely not run the latest Mac OS).

In short, Sony are now the only player still active in the game and they do not work on Mac.

  • How to upgrade a volume of Cougar to the Mavericks?

I have a 10.8.5 Mountain Lion boot volume that I want to update to the Mavericks. I found some Mavericks 10.9.2 by 10.9.5 stand-alone installers Combo Update on the Apple support site. One of these installers combo updates a Mountain Lion facility 10.8.5, or how I first install Mavericks from an earlier version?

    Thank you!

No, they won't. You must use the Mac App Store version; This will be available if you got before Yosemite was released or tell the people in a physical Store.

  • Items 9: no visible effects after upgrade to the Mavericks

I'm just going to snow-Leo to the Mavericks.

Now I can't see the effects in the list.

    Preferably broken?

It is possible that other files have been damaged. The next most likely option would be the media (which are recorded all the effects available) database. Try to close Photoshop Elements, access the MACINTOSH HD\Library\Application Support\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\9.0\Locale\en-US\ and delete the MediaDatabase.db3 file. When you then run Photoshop Elements, you will get a progress bar that it is recreated, which will take several minutes when it reads through your effects available.

If it still does not work, try to uninstall and reinstall Photoshop Elements.

  • I'll have NO chance of finding iPhoto on my update of the Mavericks of last year.  How to do it?

I have Snow Leopard on my Mas purchased years ago.  I paid for the update to the Mavericks in a Mac store last year and have not been able to find the iPhoto icon to I can use it to access and organization of the photo.  I tried free downloads and nothing seems to work.  I tried one that said I had to have some 9. ? version before I can download... then I went down, down, down to earlier versions... no luck.  They say that I can't download them.  How about my update of the Mavericks iPhoto?

    You've waited too long

iPhoto 11 (version 9.x.x) must be purchased and it is no longer available at Apple - you also have iPhoto 9.5.1 for OS X 10.9.5 and even if you buy a version of iLife 11, I do not believe that the 9.5.1 update is available, so I don't think you will be able to use iPhoto - if you can upgrade to El Captain you can migrate your iPhoto photo library and use it

  • Should I downgrade from Yosemite to the Mavericks?

    Hello.

I am currently using the retina-no, mid 2012 MacBook Pro with 4 GB of RAM and 500 GB HARD drive. I bought in 2015 so it came with Yosemite (version 10.10.5) preinstalled. I don't plan to upgrade the HARD drive to SSD anytime soon. So should I install the Mavericks on the mac or continue to use the Yosemite. Which of the two will run better and faster?

No Apple Mac can run an operating system earlier than that which he had initially.

  • Cannot run the installation of the mavericks

I am trying to upgrade an old iMac running OS X 10.5. ?. I installed snow leopard and ran the update is now at 10.6.8. I had a copy of the Mavericks install on another system then I copied as the old iMac. When I run it, I get the following:

"This copy of the Mavericks install OS X cannot be verified. "It may have been corrupted or altered during the download.

I know that this facility has run on the machine, that I copied it from. I also tried to run an installation of El Capitan of a file and got the same message.

I did go to the app store and try to download the upgrade from there, but it gave me another error I'll put in a separate post.

I would be very happy to help

    Thank you

    John

Install both applications belong to your Apple ID or another Apple ID? If the latter, then you must use a copy of your Apple ID. You will not be able to download the Mavericks but you can download El Capitan. However, if the computer does not meet the system requirements then you may not able to upgrade past that Snow Leopard or you may only be able to upgrade to Lion.

If you have already purchased the Mavericks in with your Apple ID then you should be able to re - download it from your shopping list in the App Store. You also need to associate the computer with your Apple ID through preferences to iCloud.

  • How to get photos in iPhoto to e-mail using Chrome and the Mavericks

I would like to know how to copy quickly and easily photos that I receive in my email in iPhoto.

    I'm running the Mavericks 10.9.5

    I use Google Chrome

    I have iPhoto 9

I know I must upgrade the operating system to more recent, but do not like change.

    Thank you!

    Ginny

What is your e-mail client?  You should be able to control (on the right) - click on a photo in e-mail and elect to iPhoto import on the shortcut menu that appears.  If this isn't an option, just drag the photo on the desk and from there to the iPhoto in the Dock icon.

You know that iPhoto can no longer order any printed products, namely books, cards and calendars, printing products, Apple Store, right?  Also if you try to use the location of iPhoto feature it crash like iPhoto 9.4.3 and earlier, use the servers of Google Maps and they are no longer available to Apple.
