  This toolbar is common to Dell systems, called a Delldock, it is not part of Vista, but rather is installed by the manufacturer. Other manufacturers, such as HP, have similar tools.   Most likely, you are showing the menu bar. Right-click on the toolbar area and uncheck the Menu bar - the Firefox button should appear. You can switch from one to the other.
