This window empty
This question may seem heave been answered elsewhere and there perhaps, but none of the fixes I've implemented actually work. I tried the heterogeneous solutions, including the verification of my email address for unusual characters, Java Update, remove the file corrupted, etc.. I still have an EMPTY window (empty is uniformly white, without maps or links). I can open applications installed locally, but do not have access to the Launcher. I did yesterday after removing the corrupted file, but today we're back to a blank window. See attached screenshot. Any ideas? Running OS 10.10.1 on a Macbook for 2009 with no other problems of functionality of applications. I show on 90 GB of free memory. Thanks for everything final light you can throw the question lon!
See if the following can help. I can't determine what else you tried and described as "etc".

Problems with iTunes re-Setup - "there is a problem with this Windows Installer package"
I tried to re - install iTunes with the latest version because I had received an "error 7" message instead of iTunes. You had covered the steps to uninstall and reinstall iTunes by removing iTunes, Quicktime, and other applications on my computer. I had uninstalled iTunes and Quicktime, but when I tried to uninstall the Apple software update, I get the following error message:
"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your supplier of staff or the package of support ".
How am I supposed to fix my problem with iTunes, so I can download music if I couldn't uninstall programs I need to uninstall? Can I try reinstalling iTunes at the moment? Please let me know what I can or can't do.
Specific file names are mentioned in the error messages?
Here is the standard advice for dealing with problems of installation of iTunes. Because you are having trouble to uninstall one or more of these applications, you must use Windows Installer Cleanup mentioned below or Free Revo Uninstaller to uninstall applications difficult.
Caution: Cleanup utility Windows Uninstaller has been removed from Microsoft download servers because sometimes it seems more removed he was supposed to (I believe this was linked to Office uninstall). You can still get Windows Installer Cleanup here--> http://majorgeeks.com/Windows_Installer_CleanUp_Utility_d4459.html utility if you use it, you must create a restore point from the system first (or back up the registry with C:\WINDOWS\ERUNT). An image full disc would be safer if you have this ability.
If these steps do not help, ask for help in the Apple forum: https://discussions.apple.com/community/itunes/itunes_for_windows?view=discussions&tagSet=1234#/

I worked on it for about 3 days now. It's driving me crazy. I tried everything I could find to try to solve this problem.
When installing iTunes it stops and a box will then appear to me said "there is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support provider or package. "No error message or anything, that's all I get. When I hit the only button I can hit the OK button, it continues to install QuickTime. Sometimes, it will install the iTunes file and the shortcut, but the shortcut does never work and the iTunes file is always empty. I have download the installer directly from Apple.com and save to the desktop, a new copy after each test (just in case).
Here is a list of what I've tried:
- Apple Support page: difficulties to install iTunes or QuickTime for Windows
- Apple Support page: removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other components of software for Windows Vista or Windows 7
- Apple Support page: iTunes and QuickTime for Windows cannot be installed without Visual Basic Script (VBScript)

Yes, I am the administrator of the computer with admin abilities, yes I checked run this program as an administrator. I also made sure to stop all this as possible could interfere with the instillation, including my anti virus and what not even before I tried a clean boot.
Is there anything else I can try?

How many times windows empty cache on disk
I have an SSD, with write cache enable and using write cache flushing flushing buffer (i.e., uchecked, not turned off).
I read that this means that windows periodically empty the contents.
My question is: how many times windows empty the cache (if you need to)? Every second, every minute, every time that the drive is idle or?
Thank you
Yes, don't worry about this at all. Not worth your energy. The only possible way for the loss of data is a sudden failure.

Why this window opens every time that I run Mozilla
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the < shift >
(Mac options) key and then from Firefox. Is always the problem?Favorite and use this.
Download the Mozilla search reset {web link}
This module is very simple: when installing, it backs up
and then resets your search and home page preferences
at their default values and then to uninstall. This
affects the search bar, search bar URL, and the home page. -
It took me almost an hour to get to this point. I am technologically challenged. I have an old version of Firefox. The instructions immediately embark on the 'Firefox window' but says nothing about how to access this window. Where this window? Maybe I should just download Opera?
"Firefox" means Firefox, this is the window that appears when Firefox is opened.
You must follow the directions to update to the latest version Firefox update to Firefox 33.0.2 (read to the bottom of the page to see the screenshots). This will take you to the most recent version of Firefox, and then we can help you with other problems you're having with Firefox.

What do you call this window?
Safari is not well fonctionnee this morning. After a few reboots, flushes the cache and choice swear words that my original problem has evaporated. But it does not lead to my current question: what we call this window?
A few minutes ago, it was not showing the list of Favorites and I had no idea how to do to troubleshoot it. That's when I realized that I don't know what we call this window. I * know is not a Finder window, since it opens during registration or downloading a file in Safari and not when I'm in the operating system.
Any help?

iPhD,
It's a window "save under...". ». It will be available from any application that has a capacity of "save under...". ».
Your screenshot shows that it does not display properly. If you choose a different 'View' icon, it can correct the appearance:

How can I disable voice and a black square around red symbol 'close' this window?
After a power outage, annoying voice came telling me everything I do, that is, "MSN opening, closing of window, etc..» In addition, a black square now surrounds the red circle 'close' this window. Cannot turn off the other to turn to low volume.
You turn on VoiceOver Accessibility feature (System-> Speech Preferences; (fn) Cmd - F5)

There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete, could not be executed. This appears when trying to update
Repair Apple Software Update of programs and features, Control Panel, and then try again.
If not for general advice see troubleshooting problems with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps described in the second case are a guide to remove everything related to iTunes and then rebuild what is often a good starting point, unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review other cases and a list of documents to support further down the page, in which case one of them applies.
More information area has direct links with the current and recent if you have problems to download, need to revert to a previous version or try the version iTunes for Windows (64-bit-for old video cards) as a workaround for the problems of performance or compatibility with third-party software.
Your library must be affected by these measures, but it is also related to backup and recovery advice if necessary.

Hello
I tried to update iTunes on Windows 10 and now I get the message error "there is a problem with this Windows Installer Package".
I tried to fix it too, but it has not helped, so I uninstalled and tried to reinstall but there has not helped either. I tried almost everything I've seen in other posts.
I use a laptop Asus series k55VJ with an original copy of Windows and has never had this problem before.Any of you have an idea what can do?
Thank you!Try to repair the Apple Software Update of the programs and features Control Panel, then uninstall it and then reinstall iTunes.

Update XP 32-bit to 64-bit Windows 8 - keep this Windows.old folder?
On this Web page , which is titled "Upgrading to Windows 8.1 of Windows Vista or Windows XP", he States the following:
BEGINNING
"Note".You can always restore your personal files after that you upgraded to Windows 8.1. Your files are stored in the Windows.old folder, where you can retrieve them after the upgrade. For more information, see recover files from the Windows.old folder. »
END
However the foregoing relates to the upgrade from XP 32 bit to 32 bit of windows 8. My question is, is this Windows.old folder that is preserved when you upgrade XP 32 bit to 8 64-bitwindows?
I have a lot of shortcut links to files and folders, etc. These shortcut links are stored in the Windows.old folder, or I will have to be reprinted, tell them that I have probably 100's and it would be so a real problem.
Hello
Do the following before upgrade you to Windows 8/8.1.
Check if the manufacturer of your computer/laptop has Windows 8/8.1 drivers available for your model.
If this is not available, Windows 8/8.1 not install and work properly for you.
There is a lot of information in this first link from Microsoft:
Download and run the Windows Upgrade Assistant 8.1 of to see if your machine is compatible Windows 8.1 and read the update for Windows 8.1: FAQ here
